Midwest Orthopedics at Rush is NOT top 5 in the country for orthopedic care! Don t get me wrong Rush Hospital certainly has some of the best medical professionals on staff, but the reality is the name Rush itself is overhyped. Understand Midwest Orthopedic is not Rush, they have multiple locations. Rush Hospital downtown happens to be a location. Don t be fooled by the plush atmosphere and latest greatest equipment you see, it s all paid for by insurance company s that sign off on unnecessary surgery s as first plan of care/treatment. Usually some fudging of med records is needed from surgeon to get insurance to sign off, the backing from Rush I m sure helps the process. Anyway if your a chronic pain patient with a legitimate diagnosis or you live in PAIN daily, and your not sure what is wrong with your body. Stay the hell away from these meat markets like Midwest Orthopedic that just want to operate and provide NO pain control. I HIGHLY recommend this Doctor, get yourself appointment and remember surgery is not the only option. FYI Dr Rock upholds his Hippocratic Oath! Do No Harm-provide pain relief.

Dr. Tad Gerlinger is as kind as he is gifted.
Not many people can say they are doing what God Sent them here to do, but Dr. Gerlinger certainly can. He was my Mother s Doctor first & he took such good care of her I became his patient as well! His touch is as gentle as it is accurate. He s an Excellent Surgeon & Human Being!

Dr An answered all my questions and reviewed my MRI with me. Jackie was patient and helpful and Erin went above and beyond making sure I had pre-op appointments scheduled on the same day since I have an hour travel time.

Dr Singh performed a microdiscectomy on my lower back in 2016 at age 29, from which I had a complete recovery. I have seen him approx 4 times for return visits since, most recently in November 2020. Dr. Singh is a great listener and never makes me feel rushed at my appointments. His PAs are also fantastic and thorough. I will continue to see him for my orthopedic needs.

I saw Dr. Joshua Blumgren for pain in both knees on August 1, 2019. The overall service and care offered by Midwest Orthopedics was excellent.
Dr. Blumgren was very personable with excellent bedside manners. He was genuine with his concern, care and prescription of treatment. He was pleasant and I enjoyed our interaction. I would recommend his services to my family and friends.

Dr. Nam and his nurse Reggie were wonderful. I went to him for a second opinion and he made me feel so comforted and at ease. He was very knowledgeable about my issues and provided me with a lot more information. He suggested many alternative options we can explore and I m very thankful to have him on my medical care team.

Dr. Fernandez is a wonderful doctor. He has the best way of explaining things so I understand what he is talking about. He has never made me feel rushed or like he has to be somewhere else. He has completed 3 different hand surgeries on me, each one has healed exceptionally well. I always feel like he has my best interest and truly cares about me.

I had a great experience here. I was X-rayed, seen by an NP and a doctor, and out of there within an hour.

The only reason i left 4 instead of 5 stars is that i am at the beginning of my treatment with dr Coleman. However so far I was very impressed with how organized Rush is with collecting information and with such ease thier data collecting system works. Also Dr Colemans bed side manner was great. Very easy to talk with and even followed up with me personnally after my first steroid injection to see if i was ok after i had experienced faintness and pain.

I was able to get an appt. rather quickly with Dr. Cheng which fit in nicely with my expedited appts. with two other Drs. Dr. Cheng was doing bilateral EMGs on my hands.
I am a healthcare worker who prides myself on how I interact with people and my professional skills. Dr. Cheng was outstanding during my visit. His appearance and treatment room were both clean and well kept. He kept me abreast of what he would be doing the entire time. The visit was short and pleasant considering he had to stick needles (some quite deep) in me. My primary had the results before I left his office which is in the same building.
As a healthcare professional with over 25yrs experience, I highly recommend Dr. Cheng and would refer him to my friends and family without hesitation

Have been a patient at Midwest Orthopedic for a number of years. Have only been disappointed with service once. This last visit was not that time. Dr. Singh is very engaging and engendered confidence in her diagnosis. They continue to be too notch in my book.

My experience at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush was such that I don't think I will ever utilize their services again. It was dreadful from the experiences at the front desk, to the doctor's visits, to the post surgical treatment. I question the quality of the surgery I received.

Unfortunately I'm not a sports star so I think I got REALLY second class treatment. There was ONE person there whose help I appreciate. I hope never to see anyone else again. Certainly will not recommend the place.

My husband had both his knees replaced by Dr. Levine. This is his story:

Dr. Brett Levine and his staff at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush were exceptional beyond expectations. I began with my first knee replacement surgery in early November 2019. I did not know what to expect and was a bit apprehensive. Dr. Levine and his staff took as much time as I needed to explain the procedure and recuperation process needed for my new life without pain and the ability to perform the sports that I love.
The first knee replacement went so well, I had my second knee replacement at the end of January 2020. Dr. Levine was again very patient in explaining everything I wanted to know. This time I was a bit less anxious, somewhat knowing what to expect.
Dr. Levine s daily text messages are a great way to keep the patient motivated. The texts answered some questions I had during the recovery process.
Well, now it is three weeks into the rehab and the one thing I have to remember is to not push myself too hard or too fast. The surgical knee will let you know, in the form of pain and swelling when you are pushing too hard. Thanks to Dr. Brett Levine and his staff I am looking forward to golf season this spring and summer. I may also be back for the remaining bowling season!

Yes, I understand the COVID -19 environment continues to create issues. With that being said, I had my first appointment with Dr. Lin mid-March 2020. I had an MRI on my foot and ankle. Dr. Lin told me he would call me when he received the results. As of today, September 14, 2020 I have received no follow up call or email from Dr. Lin. I did receive two additional email surveys. I completed one in approx. June 2020, receiving no follow up correspondence. I received another survey this morning, Sept. 14th. I called the office and was told I need to make an in-person appointment to discuss my MRI results. With the COVID-19 issues why is Dr. Lin refusing to discuss my results over the phone or via a web-based meeting? Due to COVID-19, I lost my job in July. I am very disappointed.

I had taken an xray and with dr. Assistant within 30 minutes of my arrival. Dr. Ghannad and her assistant were through, friendly, and professional. I appreciate the courtesy that the front desk staff gave.

Have had both knees replaced a year apart. Dr. Nam and his support team are amazing. From beginning to end the experience was positive both times

I wanted to give a big hand(no pun intended),to Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. I originally went there for my back injury and during my exam the doc asked if I had a minute he wanted to have the hand expert come look at my hand. Well, that day I had a X-ray ,ecg and was scheduled for surgery 4 days later.
The surgery was great, I am already starting to get feeling back in my hand and fingers.
Thanks to Rush (exceptional clean organized hospital).
Also, to my doctor Dr.John Fernandez a great physician with exceptional knowledge, skills to put me back together. I would recommend him to anyone who had any hand issues.

The good DOCTOR had no bedside manner. Instead of assuming what a person is going thru he wasted five no three minutes on not trying to help me

If he got really sick really fast and needed a specialist I would hope that he wouldn't get the awful treatment that I was given.

The front desk staff and radiology staff are very professional as well. During my last office visit, I was struggling with walking..
I was approached by the front desk and radiology staff inquiring about my need of a wheelchair for transportation.
Definitely would recommend this practice to anyone interested Orthopedic services.

Kudos to Dr Garrigues and his staff for making me feel whole again. Earlier this year I visited him for excruciating pain in my arms. It was so bad I could not sleep well and could certainly not raise them up. He and staff began working on me. He did day surgery to determine the problem and went to work. Today I stand healed! No more pain no more sleeping problems and I can raise my hands up fully extended. Thank you Dr Garrigues for your wonderful healing hands and healing nature. I can't believe my turn around. My. First. Visit and was cared for in a timely manner. Polite and curtious staff

Dr. Nho, his PA s Sarah and Leah, and that whole team was extremely knowledgeable. They cared, and for me that is always the biggest thing. I was in a car wreck February 2018, and all I want to do is get my body healthy to serve in the marines. Having that sense of not being in it alone is huge in the recovery process.

When I am able to do more and more craziness in the gym (to get ready to enlist), and be okay in the long run, that is when I will post on how truly happy I am with the outcome. But, for Dr. Nho and his team, they were amazing and I would not recommend anyone else besides them to be your hip squad!

I am a long time patient of Dr .Holmes haven't seen in several years. Had a swelling on foot that has ruptured tendon.
After quering me about the specific incident leading up to swelling incident , it was clear what path i should take although Dr presented several options.

Dr Denis Nam replaced my left hip on June 12th 2018. It was a complicated surgery as I had my hip replaced previously and that hardware had to come out because it had failed. I was missing allot of bone behind the steel cup piece that had to come out. My bad hip had moved up higher in my pelvic area and my left leg was about an inch shorter. Dr Nam had to fuse bone in that area to build it back up then insert the new cup and ball for my new hip. The first 30 days after the surgery I was non weight bearing on my left leg to let the bone from a cadaver fuse. It was a 3 month recovery time. I'm happy to say I was back to work October 1st 2018 and pain free and my left leg is the same length as my right leg. He did a fantastic job for me and would highly recommend Dr Denis Nam at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

At this point I was there for an initial evaluation and went over my current condition. The doctor and his assistants were very knowledgeable and explained what to look forward to. They addressed my concerns and made me feel comfortable.

Dr Tad Gerlinger is a retired U S Army Colonel surgeon. He was awesome!! I picked him because if he was good enough for our troops he was good enough for me!!! I went for my 6 week follow up for a total left knee replacement and my mobility is unreal. I still have a ways to go before I'm completely healed but the old pain is gone.
If you need to have a replacement please choose Dr Tad Gerlinger at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush!!!!!

Dr. Cohen and his staff are amazing. I ve, unfortunately, had to visit them twice in 3 years. Their scheduling staff is so diligent and always a pleasure to work with. The medical team is very thorough and they are excellent at answering all of my questions before I can even begin to ask them. Their bedside manner is impecable. Hands down, I would recommend their team .

Dr Frank Phillips is extradinary. He s a gifted and compassionate surgeon whom you can trust your care and very life with. The medical and administrative team around him is also incredible, on top of everything and always easy to reach. Their facilities at Midwest Ortho and Rush Hospital are state of the art. What more can you ask for? Regarding my specific case, Dr Phillips has performed extremely delicate neck surgery to restore my ability to walk without pain and to use my upper limbs. He will soon have to work his miracle again on my lower spine. I can recommend this surgeon without reservation. He is the best!

Had an excellent experience. It is wonderful to be pain free after so many years and to have gone through a very supportive process of recovery. The texts helped to keep me on track and doing the exercises. After six weeks able to walk miles with out a second thought. There is little hand holding but was not necessary in my case. Took suggestions and it all went well but patience is required. Healing bodies take time. Would highly recommend.

My experience with Dr. Gerlinger on October 11, 2018 was absolutely mind blowing to say the least. One of the reasons why I d chose Dr. Gerlinger is because he was one of two doctors that was referred to me, and his medical credentials in opinion made him a perfect candidate for my situation. Unfortunately, his neck down dead people skills, dismissive nature, distasteful bedside manner, and lack of professionalism floored me. Now the doctor that I d seen on this very same day that had examined me and had gotten up to speed about my issues with my TKR (which wasn t done by Dr. Gerlinger) was very professional, compassionate, and overall really tried to help me as best as he could. I d driven an hour and thirty minutes to see Dr. Gerlinger to do get shut down the way that I was. I wouldn t wish that experience on anyone. With tears in my eyes, I was left without any other recommendations other than... If you had all of the money in the world. I still wouldn t do the surgery until your BMI is at 40. I don t know what to tell you, but I can t help you. Before I knew it, his hand was on the doorknob trying to left the room. So I d said, What am I suppose to do? I don t have full functionality of my leg because my knee won t fully extend, and I have a massive limp. His words were... I can t help you . Then he walked out of the room. I was then comforted by the other doctor that was also in the room with us. He had said, I m so sorry Ms. Mason. Take a few moments to get yourself together. You don t have to leave out the room right away. After I d left my appointment, I d got into my car and literally broke down in tears. I pray that no one else will ever have the experience that I had. Dr. Gerlinger really needs to work his delivery. It s piss poor...it s not what you say, it s how you say it. No thanks for the experience.

I've been to John's Hopkins, iNova, countless private practices, and even dealt with Mayo clinic, none have been as professional and organized as Dr. Nho and his team at Rush Ortho. I travelled from Maryland just to see him, chose him to do my surgery, and now I'm in recovery and I'm so thrilled I chose correctly. I highly highly recommend, seriously don't go elsewhere.

I have been in to see Dr. Hamid twice now. Both times I have waited over TWO HOURS to see him 3 minutes. So unprofessional and would never refer him to anyone.

I just had surgery with Dr. Garrigues, after the recommended conservative treatment was ineffective. I appreciate the ease of scheduling, and I feel lucky to have an expert doctor, who is responsive and personable. My surgery was successful, and easier than I expected. The entire team was kind and reassuring. Post op physical therapy was easy to schedule. They are responsive of patient needs and found time to get me in when I needed to be seen, despite a full schedule.

Dr. Nam and his staff are outstanding medical professtionals. I have had three successful surgeries at Mid West ortheopedics over the last ten years. I highly recommend Dr Dennis Nam and Mid West ortheopedics at Rush in Chicago.

Dr Singh performed my microdisectomy just yesterday. I had sciatic nerve pain and pain in my lower back for almost a year due to a work injury. The pain in my leg kept me from sleeping comfortably for almost a year. The pain in my leg and back is totally gone. There's soreness from where the incision was made, but to be free of pain after so long is an emotional joyful experience. Dr. Singh and his asst Chris McGee were very professional and honest, and im very happy about the outcome. Do not waste your time dealing with other Doctors, Dr Singh knows what he is doing, anyone who disagrees is out of their mind!

Doctor Kamran was totally understanding of my situation and didn t bother to offer another surgery to fix my foot that I ve had 13 previous surgeries to try and rebuild and reconstruct. Dr Kathleen Weber is an A+, she has treated me for 3 years and has given me my quality of life back! Without pain or surgery. She is very knowledgeable and professional. ***But the phone / scheduling staff at Rush is not well trained, they make numerous mistakes.

Dr. Agrawal is awesome! I had an EMG done and she talked me through everything. Although it was an uncomfortable test, she definitely made it bearable.

I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR. SIMON LEE ON THURSDAY JANUARY 2020. DR LEE WAS ON TIME, MADE SURE THAT I HAD BEEN SET UP IN THE PROCEDURE ROOM, AND I WAS READY WHEN HE WALKED IN. I HAVE VERY BAD OSTEOARTHRITIS IN MY FEET. I WAS THERE FOR INJECTIONS INTO BOTH ANKLES. HE SET UP THE EQUIPMENT, LET ME SEE WHERE HE WAS MAKING INJECTIONS AND, THEN, HE WAS DONE. DR. SIMON LEE IS A VERY COURTEOUS, PLEASANT DOCTOR. HE FULLY EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE AND ASKED HOW I DID AFTER THE FIRST APPOINTMENT IN SEPTEMBER. I DEFINITELY RECCOMEND MIDWEST ORTHOPEDIC .
