Was an employee. Mid state is a racist as they come. Came there and worked as a traveler loved the job but had a disagreement with another employee only words but it never got physicaland they didn t even bother to get my side of the story got ready to clock in for work to realize I didn t have a job. They don t care about half of the employees there especially some of their nurses. So if you think about going to work there please talk to a current employee there because you may reconsider

Poor security..allow anyone to come see you without notifying the patient..the nurse Tech's were unprofessional unethical in there duties as Tech's...as for the doctor's they didnt explain much and always left in a hurry leaving me scratching my head..wouldn't recommend this hospital to go to unless u have no other choice.
The nurses in this hospital that took care of me were top-notch, wonderful people. So were the nurse aides. I stayed June 30 on the 4th floor. Carolyn and Andrea took care of me overnight and Rita and Tammy during the day. These ladies were so amazing and lessened the depression I had for having to be in the hospital on vacation. I am a heart patient and the doctors in Connecticut took the time to consult my doctor in Indiana. They helped get me on my way with very specific follow up instructions. I entered through the emergency room and was seen almost immediately.
I agree with most unless extremely necessary don t go, I have a rare disease , I tried to explain they look at you like you have two heads even with paperwork, I went in with spasms and couldn t move and waiting on mild pain med before cat More
You would literally have to be seconds before dying to be seen or you'll be waiting minimum 3 three to five hours. They should of left the hospital on cook avenue, the staff is inconsiderate and miserable this is a place where people need warm hearted compassion, I rather drive to New Britain in pain then go here.
I find that the several times I have been there the waiting time is ridiculous when someone needs care. The people who work there should have more compassion when it comes to helping people. This is what these people get their degrees in health care to take care of people. If you do not like having compassion for people the area of health care is not for you. It always takes so long to get help there. This is why you go to the emergency because you need help right away. I do not know understand why this is the case that the help there is not very good. I would give it a rating of 2 stars and not any more.
I've tried calling Radiology many times in the past few weeks, only to be connected with Midstate Radiology Associates llc. Each time I'm asked to leave a message. I do so, but never hear back. I believe the Associates are not directly connected with the true Midstate Radiology Dept. Incidentally, a Professor at Yale Hospital left an order for an MRI of my head several weeks ago, but I was told it was never received. That can't be true. Questions: Does the Associates actually act in your behalf? Whom do I call for satisfaction?
The nurses here are great especially Lynda and Fred they BEST! All the Doctors that came to my room during my 4 day stay were fantastic, kind and knowledgeable as well.
But don't ever get your blood drawn from a woman named CRYSTAL THE ALLEGED "PHLEBOTOMIST".
She was literally stabbing me with the needle every time she inserted a new tube to the syringe. Like she had something else on her mind or somewhere better to be
Then I found out the ppl in the rooms around me complained about the exact same thing from the exact same alleged "phlebotomist".
CAUTION: Do NOT go to the ER at MidState Medical Center. The care there, if you can call it that, was beyond slow, unprofessional, uncaring and dangerous. A few red flags I experienced: I waited 4 1/2 hours before anyone even inquired about my symptoms; there was no sheet on the bed if was finally assigned and there wasn't a call button if and when I needed assistance; even after I was seen, I had to wait a minimum of 45 minutes for a return visit with medication, information, anything; a physician's assistant was about to start a treatment on me when I pointed out he had the wrong patient -- whoops. You're risking your life and limb going there. Just don't!
If I had a negative star that's what I would select. I am sitting here in severe pain for over two hours. No Nurse or doctor came by only a Technician. The Technican did not put the call bell close to me. I had to take my time to get out of bed to get the call bell. I am about to check myself out. What's the purpose of waiting here in pain and to get test done for over 2 hours. I should have gone to Yale. Never again.
Had the worst billing issue of my adult life here. Absolutely miserable and stressful situation.
I went here for a travel consultation before a backpacking trip. I was billed for the visit and my insurance company insisted they would pay for it *but Midstate never billed them*.
I called Midstate and told them to call my insurance and explained my insurance wants to speak to them and handle this and that I should not have been billed. In fact, MMC broke procedures by billing me. MMC told me they have a policy where they don't call insurance companies. MMC claimed that by singing their electronic pad, I consented to being billed (spoiler alert: they were wrong!).
MMC sent me a late payment notice before my trip and days before I left, I was told over the phone by a MMC rep that everything was all set. I returned from my trip 9 weeks later to FOUR late notices (two new ones came in while I was gone).
Finally, after countless calls and hours of wasted time, MMC "admitted" the error.
I have had non stop issues with this hospital. I have been a few times, and the last time I went I waited an hour to get into a room while suffering from extreme abdominal pain. Now when I arrived there was no one else waiting. When they walked me back to my room I saw the nurses just circled around talking and laughing to one another. I was told to change into a gown and a nurse would be in to see me soon. After an hour passed by, and hearing the nurses still in the hallway laughing and talking, I changed my clothes and walked out to them and advised them I was leaving. They looked at me as if I was a inconvenience to them. I told them that I better not be billed for any of that visit due to not receiving any type of care from them. I then went straight to Middlesex hospital where they got me right in, and found a large abscess in my abdomen and took me into emergency surgery. These are peoples lives. You are paid to do a job, and if you cannot perform in your occupation then maybe you should reconsider a different career field. This isn't the end of it all though. So after a few months after knowing that I had already paid the bills for the visit before this I got a letter from a collections agency stating they had bought my account from Midstate. So then I had to dispute that, and now just recently I had received another bill when it has been around a year since my last encounter with this hospital. I do not understand how the staff does things at this hospital, but it is definitely not organized in any sorts, and is not in thought of the patients.
The worse hospital ever in my life ! The waiting is to long 3 hour to know the urine test results and after that wait 4 hour to get scan! The should be close the hospital sucks ! ;s
I was admitted to Pav.B after recent Knee Replacement. I have to say, the entire team worked tirelessly to try to make me comfortable & meet all my needs. Every single member of my medical team was professional, compassionate, & treated me with the utmost care & respect. I had a very difficult first 36 hours as pain control was just not working. I know I was not easy to deal with during that time! The nurses, P.A.s, CNA's & even housekeeping staff all tried their best to make me comfortable while they sought the right combination. Once they did- I made great strides. Thank you PT staff as well. These people WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF......they deserve the recognition I'm sure they don't get enough of.......Special thanks to "Celia".....who went out of her way to comfort me when she saw I was hurting. You have a true gift my dear- I hope the administration realizes what an asset you are to the team.
Worst hospital ever!! They performed testing on me and said that everything was fine but it wasn't. I found out about my condition a year later when another doctor at the same hospital told me that they found my condition when they performed the first MRI and CT scan a year ago. Long periods of waiting. Staff don't know what they are doing, they give you attitude if you aks questions. Never again !!!
I recently had my baby at Midstate Birthing Center and was very nervous because its my first. I recieved exceptional care from all the staff especially my nurses and my delivery doctor Bagat. I cant thank them enough for being so caring.
I had weight loss surgery with Dr. Benberham. He is the best ! Everyone I that helped me was wonderful. I would recommend Mid State for any surgery you might need.
Here on an extended stay with my grand mother. This is the cleanest, best staffed, most organized, efficient hospital I've ever seen (I've seen many here in Connecticut). I'm so impressed with this hospital and its staff.
Waited more than10 hours for pain killers, a CT scan and pain killers approved we called the nurses station several times just ok np and no one showed up. Every time my friend comes here they're ignored for hours even though they're rating their pain 8 or 9 and are not drug seeking they just want help. Horrible place to get help. They're understaffed and have over 50 full rooms there's people in the hall and no way anyone is getting assistance. Told lose weight and go home. Not helpful. The techs were the only people who tried to help and they couldn't dispense or do anything but take vitals and I could see how badly they wanted to do more. It was about hour 8 that we finally got some real help but geeze
Wish I can give zero stars! Worst hospital ever. I came in my chest pain and pains in my legs and they put me in a room nobody came and checked on me. I told them I wanted to leave it's going on 3 hrs no doctor's came to see me nobody! The nurse said she'll let the doctor know I want to leave and still an hour lady nobody is here. I have better experience at Hartford hospital !!!! I'll never return again.
Not too happy with crappy policies. Came from Wisconsin to see my newborn niece and my kids were turned away at the door. While other children were walking out after a visit. They stayed they were worried about germs, but that didn't stop my sister from spending all her time there, with c-diff and strep throat.
