Fantastic RV Park centrally located to all venues I was able to use this location as my base site which allowed me to visit all attractions less my fifth wheel, very convenient. Camp ground is very organized, very clean, security is great, amenities are abudant (pool, lounge, grassy open areas, bathing and bathroom facilities, fenced exercising dark area,. This RV Park is a great place to stay at I recommend it without hesitation we loved it.

Very clean and well maintained campground. Cleanest bathrooms and showers I've ever experienced at an RV campground. With all the free things they have to offer, Rushmore Shadows Resort earns a 5 star from me.

There was a large hail storm (golf ball size) that hit during our stay and the maintenance crew loaned a ladder to me for as long as I needed it so I could make repairs. I noticed they were out helping everyone they could, with well over 50 rvs in the park, many of them recieving damage the staff went above and beyond

They have several large grass areas to use: putt putt, playground, pool and hot tub, horseshoe pits, pickle ball courts, and a dog run area.

The staff is all very friendly and helpful.

Updated.....This place is remarkable it has cabins it has lodges and has Community Center swimming pool hot tub mini golf bicycles nature trail over 400 RV sites to choose from no tent sites. Picnic tables and fire rings by every site. Mule deer come up to our driveway site where we had pull through I'd say almost every single evening. The starlites gorgeous, they have a couple of pavilions, the washer is $2 per load the dryer is $1 for an hour. The community center is there they have television, a reading Library as well some videos or DVDs. Wi-Fi throughout the entire Resort Campground.

Stayed Friday and Saturday nights as part of a promotional offer. The amenities and site was great, we stayed in Spearfish Canyon Lodge cabin and it was a beautiful, impeccably clean cabin. We attended a tour and presentation as part of our free stay, and it lasted about 2 hours. The membership package was not a fit for our family but it was interesting to learn about what they offer. Our tour guide was Jim, and he did a great job explaining everything, was very friendly and fun, and didn t place much pressure on us. Staff at the park were very friendly, park is very very well kept and close to all the attractions you d come visit Rapid for. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons. Bed didn t offer the best sleep, the presentation took longer than 90 minutes (and would have gone longer hadn t we ended it) and on the phone we were told we d receive dinner and show tickets for attending the presentation and we got Cosmo Mystery s area passes. We d been before so this didn t benefit us. Overall, wonderful park and great staff, great amenities. We enjoyed our stay! Thanks!

We stayed in one of the 6 person cabins for a week, and it worked perfect. We had 6 people ranging in ages from 3 to 80 and everyone was happy with it. Great staff and amenities. The cabin was clean and maintained and well equiped. The location is great for getting to all the different tourist locations in the area and we are already talking about going back.

This is the first campground where I ever had anything stolen. It wasn t even anything huge extremely inconvenient. Someone stole the adapter that allows us to tow the car behind the RV so now we are stuck driving two separate vehicles!

I mistakenly gave this 5 stars, thinking it was another place, as I was quickly reviewing all the great places we had stopped in on our trip to the mid west. But going back to review my reviews, I remember this place. I had left the fresh water valve open on my motorhome, and when the pump was turned in inside, it pumped all the water out, and I stopped in this resort after going to the bear country park which was fabulous. Anyway I needed some fresh water and I stopped in to see if I could get a fill up from one of their faucets. I went in the main office and talked to the maintenance worker dave, he told me No. So I asked him if that was his final answer, and I confirmed his name and he said let me ask the manager of the park. I went over to the office and a man came out and was polite but told me no. He said our members would not appreciate me getting water from their resort because I was not a member. And that they were not a service facility for anyone to come in and use their park for water. So, in no way would I recommend this place.

Very nice the lodge we stayed in was very clean and well up kept. We did go on the tour about 2 hours . No high pressure sales at the end a simple yes or no purchase. Not a time share . Great location . Mins from main attractions . Very family and pet friendly.

My advise if you are considering buying into Midwest Outdoor Resorts is to make sure you understand all the rules. My wife's family has been members for several years and it seems like every time we make a reservation these rules have changed.

It's a nice campground but membership comes with many gotcha's.

Update June 2019: Thay appear to be finally listening to their members as things are getting better. Our last couple of experiences have been good.

Don't become a member!!!

Don't become a member!!!

We have been members for almost 10 years and every year the customer service becomes worse than the following year. If you are a non-member, they will bend over backward for you but if you are a member, they could care less about you.

Very nice park. It is a membership park, but you can stay two nights and three days for $30 intensive seminar. Well worth it!
It's extremely well-run. The park is clean and laid out nicely.
They have added a new section for big rigs which is very nice. The only reason I did not give them five stars is with this add-on... they need another bath house and pool!

First off, being a single female Rv'er, I was offered no help to my site but I found it ok. It was raining and I had to fight with the sewer cap to get it off. The connections are spaced far from each other. It was a gravel site so it was on the muddy side. There was one of those jagged weeds about two feet tall right at the water hookup that I had to cut down so I wouldn't get stabbed by it. The sites are literally about 6 ft from each other. Dandelions in the sparse grass area. No trees so you're sitting in the beaten sun. They have young adults probably not over 21 working in the office. They pack them in worse than a can of sardines. I camped here for two weeks through my coast to coast membership so I paid $10 a night. If I was paying full price I would have left the next day. Can honestly say I won't stay here again.

Tented in the NE corner - wonderful shade, clean bathrooms and showers, fantastic pool (a bit warm) and a fun well maintained mini golf course.

Stayed as guests of members and we'll exceeded my expectations!
The one improvement I would see added would be a passive ventilation fan - or just the door propped open - for the bathrooms. Can get a wee bit stinky in the mornings, at least in the Men's!

Way, way, way overpriced!! These people want you to be members only to stay here at a whopping $10,500 one time payment!! Then you have to pay an annual maintenance fee and you still have to pay for your stay, just at discounted prices. These people bribe you to get here and make you sit through a presentation then expect you to pay the money upfront. The staff was not polite and the salesman trying to sell us a package was very rude. Seemed a little Offended that we didn t buy the insane membership on the spot. He also kept changing the prices..went from 10,500 to 8,500 to about 6,000 then down to 1,400. He was trying way to hard. Others guests were also rude. The campground itself was a nice area and pretty good upkeep and a lady name Shirley who works there was so sweet and a pleasure to talk to. All in all though not a good experience at all and we will not be back!

**Owner s response was also not polite. Did not ask to further go over things in detail and also disregarded a lot of what I stated. Basically they said a big screw you! Do not go here travelers!!!

Clean, organized, and lots to do! We absolutely loved tent camping here, and will come back anytime we are in the area. The resort is very clean and we felt very safe here. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Love the resort just wish that there was more supervision in the pool. The kids were so bad I wouldn't go back. My husband and nephew went again and came back because of how bad the unsupervised kids were.

We won a free 2 night 3 day stay with you guys at a hunting seminar. Well we became members. The busy life we have as for so many we truly are excited to see how this plans out. The cabin we stayed in was so nice and neat. Definitely home away from home. I loved waking up to the 30 some turkeys next to the cabin. Can not wait to visit " home awY from home" agin!

We liked it. Nice and clean and quiet (other than some traffic noise from hwy 16). Friendly staff. Price was reasonable. Kids liked the pool. Hot tub seats 6-8 people but we were able to get in for the most part. Sept 2019 long weekend didn't have much for bugs so that was nice. Things closed a bit early or opened a bit late for our tastes but it wasn't really an issue. Has a small store with basic camping supplies. Fairly central to many of the attractions.

The staff is pleasant and helpful. The grounds are clean and there is a fenced area if you brought a dog. They had some activities for children and the RV spaces aren't on top of each other. It is also a close 15 minute drive to Mount Rushmore.

This visit was good no issues being a member it is easy. As member my issue is when we joined they said they were looking to add resorts I the Rocky mountain areas but have only opened new resorts in the extreme north Minnesota if I had to do over I would have not joined do to being only able to use the South Dakota location plus maintenance keeps going up by larger amounts every year they add a new location.

Went for a tour and was 100% on board with doing the membership until they don't allow you to "use" your membership every weekend. This includes the weekend of sturgis. So we are looking for a different resort now.

I loved the resort!!!! It was clean and the people that work there are so friendly and helpful. We have been to the Sturgis rally 36 years, and this is the first time we had ever stayed any where other than a campground. I loved it!!!!! We will be going back next year.

Nice park, quiet, with clean restrooms. Please note all RV hookups are at the rear of each site so you may pay for a full hookup but not be able to utilize the sewer hookup. A 20 foot hose was not long enough for our side discharge.

For overnighter this was not the best. $60 for a back in, very, not level site. Difficult to back in because they gave us wrong directions to site. Coming in after dark from visiting Mt Rushmore just made it harder. Nice place I guess if you are staying for a while. If we had stayed 2 nights it would have been $39.95. So many RV parks in the area we just picked one. Oh well, do your homework.

Great Park. Friendly staff, clean, good for kids off all ages. Great spaces for RVs, didn't feel packed in. Was part of their promotion and sat in on the 90 minute presentation. No pushiness at all, nice folks. Wish we had a little more time to spend there. Close distance to Mt. Rushmore Monument and the Town of Keystone where there are nice shoes and activities for kids to do.

This is our third visit since we joined Midwest Outdoor Resorts three years ago. Each visit has been better than the previous ones. This time the weather cooperated to give us ample sightseeing in lushly green surroundings. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the park facilities are clean and well-maintained. All in all a happy visit!
