One of the only computer stores serious enough for me to set foot there.
An emergency, a look at the stock on the site and since they have quite a bit of stock you have a good chance of fixing your problem.

The last thing I wanted to do was spend it in a computer store.
My hard drive crashed on my other laptop.
I was speaking to Andrew, knew what he was talking about, I walked out with a new laptop.(keeping in mind my other was 8 years old and using Vista)
I read the reviews and seen some negative reviews,this place was recommended by a friend.So i was not sure what i was heading in to.
WELL SO FAR IT WAS VERY GOOD SERVICE.
I don't do much on my laptop, so i don't expect to return that often or at all.If i do return I Hope the service will be the same as I received today and will be quick, I WON'T expect any less.

No matter what the OTHERS say I've gotten the number 1 service in sales and repairs, and yes it really does take time to upgrade a system due to multiple tasks to add that peripheral you need, weather you do it at home or in the store ( adding the peripheral to your setup, adding the driver for it, updating that driver, and so on) but I've ASKED for what I've needed and they put it together for me and for the person next to me too, it felt like I was in a restaurant and giving them my order. Now when the product came to me I was little skeptical because it takes a lot for me to be happy and by the end transaction they've managed to do just that, all I can say is keep up the excellent work you guys you ALL deserve it, two thumbs up from me and from a whole slew of people in and around Montreal. I most recommend this location due to a lot of selection and competence of everyone, FIVE STARS from me.

After a catastrophic experience at MicroBytes CentreVille, I was told to go to this one, and boy i didn't regret. Minor a small mistake (which is probably ultimately a misunderstanding) the service was excellent. Went back the next morning and everything was fixed afterward. Fast and accurate service. Will definitely visit again when I need other machines.

Such small companies, even if they are a chain like Microbytes, should cease to exist! They have no warranty for anything that they consider not in stock, which constitutes a "special order". So even if you bought something literally less than 24 hours ago and want to exchange it for another better product, they don't have any satisfaction warranty because they classify it as "special order". I thought Quebec had laws against such abuse but it seems like it may not!

I have bought two systems, one from the Pointe-Claire and other from the Downtown store, which were excellent. My father also has a complete system from here which works flawlessly. But if you buy a part or if anything is wrong that THEY consider as not covered, unlike Best Buy, they will refuse to even exchange it! So you're on your own for many things which you can get refunded or exchanged (usually within 30 days) from Best Buy.

I will spread the word about Microbytes and how pitiful they are and try to find out about laws to see if there is anything consumers can do. Microbytes does NOT deserve to be in business anymore, unless they can provide a proper 15-30 day customer satisfaction warranty. THAT's what today's consumers expect and unforseen technical problems can always come up during computer and parts purchases for which the consumer is NOT to blame. Unfortunately, the consumer is the one suffering and stuck in the middle of incompetent technology on the one hand, and an insensitive and unprofessional business like Microbytes, on the other.

This is a good place for a glitch and if you do not want to wait after an order online or if the person can not move far. Their prices are exorbitant compared to the competition like Canada Computers or small suppliers. For my part I prefer Newegg, Amazon and Canada Computers ..

They have most of everything you'd need for parts, but they typically don't carry high end product. I went in for a Threadripper and TRX40 motherboard and they didn't have any in stock at their location. Despite that, they're able to order the parts within a few days time.

The staff is really nice. I'd say the service is a bit expensive but the technicians have always been super efficient and super nice and professional with me! They saved me from computer castastrophes multiple times :)

After asking them to flash my motherboard's BIOS for me, I had an issue afterwards, so I went back for help. They resolved it for me and were very patient and helpful throughout the process. Very, very satisfied with the service.

Associate Alexis A was very very informative about how the backorder process is and explained well in detail how everything worked.

He helped me backorder my RTX EVGA FTW card for me and that he also opted in for me a ASUS Tuff.

Very knowledgeable guy and easy to get along with.

Would come here again in 6 years to upgrade to whatever cards are gonna be then!

I worked for MicroBytes two decades ago and much of the negativity it receives today was received back then as well. Speaking strictly as an employee, I can say that the business operates very fairly and the owner truly does go out of his way to make sure that you get the best price that he can offer you. If you're buying cables or small connectors, you are likely to find a better price going to Amazon. However, if you're looking for parts and don't mind buying hardware that isn't boxed, you're not likely to beat Morty's price. Speaking of which, the man might rub some people the wrong way but the reality is that he's a sweetheart if you get to know him well enough and he is very likely to treat loyal customers like kings and queens.

I take it I arrive dear me and my computer is not doing so well then I phone at another place I explain to them and tell myself that my power supply would have worked then I turn on my pc and it is slower than before I call them there tell me we opened the box we can do nothing so they had the money and now he answers no more and he hangs up allex never in this place there.

The service depends on who you land on... at times the service is incredible but the other half of the time you're asking yourself why you even came here... Consistency in service is lacking but the products and prices are good. If you know what you need, chances are they have it, but if you're going for help, it's a 50/50.

Up until now i was satisfied,i bought an Msi gaming laptop,i asked the salesperson if it was possible to install the ssd that was in my current laptop into the new one,and make it the primary ssd and the one already installed would be secondary so i wouldn't have to reconfigure the new laptop a simple install according to the salesperson.When i went to pick up my laptop the manager had told me "they had trouble cloning the windows os"and that it didn't make sense to use my ssd as a primary drive,i explained to him the reason why,he went to the backroom and came back to tell me All My Files Were erased.He tjan proceeded to charge me an additional $103.00 for a service i didn't ask for.....good customer service?You decide for yourself...

My computer had a power surge and it fried my power supply and video card. The disagnosis was quick, but there was a problem sending parts back. Took a week to find out that the supplier would not take my parts back. When I came in, the manager was helpful and understanding and changed it all on the spot sending me home with a functioning computer. Will be going back when help is needed.

I had never bought from this place before and the one time I did, I bought only 2 products, 1 Corsair cabinet and 1 Asus monitor that unknowingly sold me for at least 400 to 500 dollars more expensive than on the market. I asked several questions and of course the salesperson told me that this was the very latest technology. This is why they say "final sale". In addition it was the demo!

Unfortunately, I trusted them too much ... (production 2016!)

Sold me a part that doesn't fit my CPU and wouldn't refund my money even though the staff said it would fit. Also brought my computer in for repairs and didn't actually fix it.
Very disappointed. Will not shop here again.

Seems okay on technical competence, and very dedicated to customer communication. Really, really dedicated, such that I'm waiting 15 (make that 25) minutes to pickup and purchase a hard drive that was placed on hold earlier today.

Despite the excellence client service from the new 2-day old hire, the 2 incumbents on the floor seemed to have no appreciation of multitasking, or balancing their desire for self-aggrandizement through over-communication, with the need for speedy service.

Would not recommend for anyone who has less than 30 minutes to spend, buying one component.

Been here for various pc parts and every time, the staff have been so helpful. They always recommend the best parts for your budget and they were so knowledgable. Never pushed for expensive parts or parts that you might not need. I will come back since their service is way better than other computer stores. I felt super comfortable to shop here.

I brought my laptop for hardware repair and dusting. I was charged $ 75 for a quote (+ $ 25 for cleaning) and as an answer I was told that the parts could not be ordered (my laptop was a Samsung bought in 2012). After having recovered I dismounted myself and realized that dusting was far from perfect. I doubt they even opened it, since there was still a good layer of dust between the different parts, joints and most components (motherboard, graphics card, fans, ...). In short, it was a big disappointment for a so-called professional store.

I've been a customer for over ten years. The service is hit or miss. They can be very patronizing, which, as someone who works in a tech related field, helps no one and nothing, except their egos. Overall though, I find that most of them are courteous and professional, but a little bit commission hungry.

I called the store to confirm that they have items I needed to build a computer, they confirm and say they had them. On their website, one item said it was 74.99. In store, the salesman tells me it s 109$. I tell him that his website and anywhere else in Montreal is 74.99, but I chose that store because it s conveniently located not to far from my house.
He looks at me and says what do you want me to tell you . Well my friend, I understand times are rough with this pandemic, but you just lost yourself a 300$ purchase minimum. As soon as I mentioned an apparently former store affiliation, they turn sour and say they got kicked out . Won t be seeing my money that s for sure.

Computer hardware stores are not too plentiful these days. I know buying online has its advantages but a good store like this outweighs most of them by having knowledgeable staff and competitive prices.

The number of times I've been give misinformation at this location is ridiculous. I walk in wanting a 5$ piece and they tell me I need a 200$ piece that, guess what, is currently on sale... Just now i found out that they sold me a version of Windows that they shouldn't have, putting me into a very uncomfortable position.

Just watch out to buy from here because they're not the same anymore they don't accept any return as the guy told me when i brought back one of the part which i found $30 cheaper in amazon. Was only 5 minutes after o bought.
I always buy here with so much confidence because i knew if i change my mind i will bring it back or exchange but they don't

My go to place for almost everything computer related. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Build your own PC from scratch (choosing all the components) as I have done or have them build it from your specs.

They have complete off the shelf PCs, laptops, gaming chairs, you name it. If not in stock, they can order it for you.

Don t know that much about computers? They ll sit down with you and help guide you to a proper decision without undo pressure. And for us techno-nerds this place is a slice of heaven! Highly recommended.

*Please read if you plan to go there* Horrible service. I went there to buy a CPU cooler (Cooler Master EVO 212) but an employee recommended a smaller one (Cooler Master Hyper T4) because he said that it will fit in my case. Turns out the "small one" was a little shorter than the one i was going to buy but a lot larger. It fit, but i had to move ram sticks to slower ports. I called them and they wanted to charge a 15% """Restocking fee""" the CPU cooler is 99% new, only the thermal paste that came with it is what i opened. Microbytes is horrible...
*EDIT: They charged me 28$ to exchange my Hyper T4 to a 212 EVO and also i bought the T4 from them 2 times and both of the times the fan was loose and made horrible sound . THEY CHARGED ME 15$ FOR THE MINISCULE LITTLE SACHET OF CHEAP THERMAL PASTE (That i obviously used to install it) THAT COMES WITH THE T4. And the rest for the price difference between the T4 and the EVO 212, but they still complained to me that the EVO 212 will not fit in my case. Turns out the EVO 212 did fit perfectly no matter what way i rotate it and does not block RAM slots like the T4 did. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE ANYMORE.

So, we have been a fairly good customer over the last 5 years. We recently purchased 6 UPS from the Pointe-Claire location. One of them was defective and I tried to bring it in to be replaced or refunded. Got the major run-around and a refusal to take it back. They told me it was a special order and would not replace it. When I threatened to never return, they told me to wait and they would try and do something about it. Lo and behold, after waiting for about 15 minutes, they brought me a new UPS, same model. I thought it was a special order...ummmmm. Then I opened the box and saw it was already opened, meaning it was either returned by someone else or a refurbished model they were trying to dump on me. So I have to say, it was nice knowing you but I will never shop at Microbytes and I would encourage you to really think about spending your money here. If you do, make sure you know about their in-store policies including their return policy. As for the owner of this location, this has to be the most pathetic attempt at customer service I have ever seen.

Went in because I had an ASUS Motherboard issues. Morty was super polite as well as his Staff members. They told me Diagnostics would take around 2-3 days. Got a call the very next day for pick up. They took the time to explain to me what was wrong, what they did etc.

For people who were complaining about the prices and such, they have on both their website and in person how much changing parts are. I feel it was as if people didn't take the time to ask "How much is it to change X part." Many of the negative comments can be avoided by just asking a simple question.

Guys, thank you very much. I know it's a difficult time for everyone, but you really took the time and effort for excellent service.
