Such small companies, even if they are a chain like Microbytes, should cease to exist! They have no warranty for anything that they consider not in stock, which constitutes a "special order". So even if you bought something literally less than 24 hours ago and want to exchange it for another better product, they don't have any satisfaction warranty because they classify it as "special order". I thought Quebec had laws against such abuse but it seems like it may not!
I have bought two systems, one from the Pointe-Claire and other from the Downtown store, which were excellent. My father also has a complete system from here which works flawlessly. But if you buy a part or if anything is wrong that THEY consider as not covered, unlike Best Buy, they will refuse to even exchange it! So you're on your own for many things which you can get refunded or exchanged (usually within 30 days) from Best Buy.
I will spread the word about Microbytes and how pitiful they are and try to find out about laws to see if there is anything consumers can do. Microbytes does NOT deserve to be in business anymore, unless they can provide a proper 15-30 day customer satisfaction warranty. THAT's what today's consumers expect and unforseen technical problems can always come up during computer and parts purchases for which the consumer is NOT to blame. Unfortunately, the consumer is the one suffering and stuck in the middle of incompetent technology on the one hand, and an insensitive and unprofessional business like Microbytes, on the other.
