My experience with Melbourne IVF was amazing, I have a lot going on with health issues so to be able to go through the process of preserving my fertility so easily and stress free was a relief! I am extremely thankful to everyone working at Melbourne IVF that made my experience successful and it seemed effortless!

I highly recommend Melbourne IVF and Dr Elzeiny in particular. After close to 6 years of trying to convince naturally Dr Elzeiny was able to make our dream of having a family come true. We were pregnant after our very first embryo transfer and I have Dr Elzeiny and the team at Melbourne IVF to thank for that.

I feel that Melbourne IVF were deceptive and dishonest.

This organisation seems more interested in extracting the maximum dollar from patients, rather than actually listening to them and their needs.

My partner and I attended an appointment with a FS. We were overcharged for an initial consultation. FS was extremely pushy and ordered a litany of tests, including genetic testing at $400 + a pop even though no prior history of Down Syndrome in the family nor recurrent miscarriages.

If you have a bottomless fountain of money - sure - maybe you could consider using their services.

But I certainly would double check as to whether all their suggested add-ons are necessary, or just another commission maker for FS and his / her Administration team.

I'm sorry to say generally our experience with MIVF has been negative when compared to our expectations. The public system was far superior in terms of cleanliness, organisation and professionalism.
The final straw was when MIVF wasted an entire cycle when our healthy embryo was "lost" into the bin in the lab. Meaning we lost time, money and health when we had to go through another egg collection and fertilisation cycle. They met some of the costs but made it clear that no compensation was available.

It was such a terrible experience. I was treated like a number. After 5 failed IVF attempts my doctor Dr Gronow didn't even call me to show any empathy or say he was sorry. He knew that was my last attempt. He just sent a with compliments slip instead. I wouldn't recommend Melbourne IVF to anyone, the only time the staff called me was to find out when I was paying my account. Very poor customer service and care by the nurses. The only good thing was the staff at the day hospital they were very caring.

We had a very positive experience with Dr Fleur Cattrall and the MIVF team. We found all of the staff to be very professional, caring and organised; and they were quick to respond to any queries or concerns along the way. We now have a beautiful little three month old boy and we couldn't be any more thankful.

I am finally a mum at 45 years young. We collected and froze our 4 embryos at age 41. After a couple of failed attempts we got lucky. We can t thank Kokum Jayasinghe enough for her wonderful, realistic, informative and professional care of us on this very harrowing journey. The rest of the team at Melbourne IVF were supportive also. Keep up the good work.

Kind Regards,
Selena

Dont believe the success stats you are told, it seems to be more of a money making sheme to us, they are your best friend until you are out the door and all bills are paid and after that very hard to get hold of for advice or support.

Disempowering. Not patient-focussed at all. Felt like I had to hassle staff to get a result. Will def be using another service provider next time. Melb IVF: please don't respond with a 'we care about your feedback' - I know you don't.

Agree wholehearted with the post below. Paper invoices for storage fees were sent to the wrong address. Instead of a phone call or email to me from MIVF accounts, these contact details were sent to an extremely aggressive debt collector threatening legal action. After 2 weeks of repeated phone calls to MIVF, someone finally paid me the courtesy of calling me back. However the patient liaison coordinator and patient advocate were unhelpful and dismissive. So glad I had already switched to Monash IVF whose standard of patient care is far superior, and I write this with my 7 month old baby asleep in my arms.

Melbourne IVF are an abomination. They price gouge. Their administrative and operations teams are cold, rude, negligent, and take no responsibility for the destruction they wrought on our life. The experience with Melbourne IVF has been beyond devastating, and frankly soul destroying. They lie. I caught them in lies. They don't return calls.
The head of Counselling services called us with bad news, but we were not offered counselling or support. I had to point this out to her!
They did not follow their own procedures with us, yet we were treated like dirt on their shoe. Their behaviour to us was unconscionable, yet we are treated as less than them.
They have no care or empathy whatsoever.
To Melbourne IVF, shame on you and your business for forgetting you are a HEALTH CARE provider, not some big cold bank.

To those looking for an IVF provider, RUN!!! Keep researching. Keep talking to alternate suppliers. They do not deserve your time, money or emotional investment. They make sure that patients feel they are just a number and a little person to be trod on. They hold their bottom line and their shareholders above the health and well-being of patients, in my experience.

If I could give them a negative rating, I would. Good luck to those couples looking to start IVF, it's full on. Take care of each other, find a practice that cares more about you than your back pocket.

Unless you earn well over $100,000 a year, don't even bother with this treatment, it will leave you financially crippled

This is a business designed to do one thing, make huge amounts money off vulnerable people in hoping that they will have a child which is quite sad if you ask me

A kids birthday party is more organized then this place.

Doctor never on time due to running around to too many hospitals/clinics

Hardly anything is done in house and you need to take so many days of work to organize all this rubbish

Financial department not comfortable when you are asking questions

Endless money pit

Also watch out for the frozen embryo cancellation form in witch they send out too late, hardly giving you anytime to cancel further storage resulting in a bill

The level of care provided by our doctor and the nurses at MIVF was excellent. It was consistently professional and caring. Now after four transfers we are the proud parents of a healthy baby girl.

It does take a while to get your head around all of the medications, tests, procedures, etc. involved, and the IVF process can obviously be quite emotional. I really trusted our doctor, and felt that she was transparent with us about our chances of getting pregnant given my age. The clinic nurses also did an amazing job of explaining things as we were getting started, and throughout my treatment they were kind, patient, and encouraged me to call with any questions or if I was worried about anything. They were always really supportive and patient when I did. A big thank you to all the staff for their support and helping to make the IVF experience less stressful!

Kind, considerate and professional staff. No issues in the five years (on and off) I ve been attending the clinic. I think your experience is definitely impacted by your success and the fertility specialist you choose. Can t recommend Assoc. Prof. Kate Stern and her team highly enough.

Initially I was given a vote of confidence of achieving a baby with this organisation.
Low & behold their bedside manner & care for this particular patient was much to be desired.
How can this promote a stress f7ree environment for a recipent?
The app they request you use isnt monitored & therefore causing additional followup.
My claim from Medicare rejected as receptionist hadnt registered referral.
When advised to pick up drugs to initiate transfer was not advised specifics with regards to payment for procedure.
Im now 3 weeks post embroyo transfer & I havent heard from my specialist.
Went in for 1st pregnancy test that I made an early appointment for due to work schedule was told no nurse available & sent off to Dorevitch collection centre which didnt open until sometime after my initial appointment.
I had to chase results calling clinic, leaving messages but receiving no call back.
Results in & the nurse claimed she was present on the day & unaware why i was turned away.
A followup test was required & yet again the referral was not organised.
After what is paid for this procedure the customer service is APPALLING.
Would highly suggest do your research of your specialist prior to taking this step as its not just your physical health at play but your mental health as well.
Stop promising what you fail to provide.

UPDATE ... coming up to 2 weeks post last pregnancy test & still no compassionate care callback. Obviously, NO CARE.

I had a horrendous experience with MIVFand and can not recommend this company.
I'm a healthy 34year old that paid $10,000 to have my eggs frozen in storage for use later in life.
The procedure did not go as expected, I had 12 eggs to be collected, and a mistake was made resulting in the specialist to only be able to collect 5 of those eggs.

The specialist told me the sonographer had made a huge mistake in measuring the size of my eggs resulting in the wrong medication being prescribed. He told me that he would make sure that I could undergo the procedure again at minimal cost to compensate for the mistake made.

When I went back for my follow up appointment all the facts had suddenly changed, he said that no mistake had ever been made. He said that they never told me I had 12 eggs and that I only ever had 5 to begin with. He told me that they couldn't be blamed for me being below average in fertility for my age.

Well this was a complete lie, my sonogram results show there were in fact 12 eggs, and my blood test results also show I am in fact fertile.
I could not believe that a specialist could so easily lie to my face to cover medical negligence. I am currently considering getting legal advice.

Also from the mistake of medications I developed severe ohss, and was very sick.
3 months later and I am still not well.

This has been a traumatising and financially costly experience, and this company does not care about its clients as long as they get their money.
Please do your research before spending your hard earned money on this company.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Raelia Lew while I was going through a egg freezing cycle. Dr Raelia has an abundance of expertise and warmth and you feel that you are in safe hands.
Over all Melbourne IVF provided a high standard of service from the beginning to end. I would highly recommend Melbourne IVF.

I ve had a wonderful experience at Melbourne IVF after the nightmare I went through with Monash IVF. I m so glad I changed doctors and would highly recimmend anyone to go to Melbourne IVF. The bedside manner and care of each and every member of staff including my doctor - Dr Manuela Toledo - has been exceptional. Things were very clear... the science of IVF treatment is also far more advanced than Monash. I had a lot of side effects when I was at Monash but under the care of my doctor at Melbourne, I went through the process with ease. I m so glad! Plus my outcome was good too. I m so pleased.

A complete shambles on the admin and billing side. Supporting a hard working wife through this process is stressful enough without the lost samples, delayed appointments, incorrect invoices and bad advice which have become common occurances in our experience.

Yes MIVF, we shall go through your 'feedback' process and rest assured this review will be updated if you ever take responsibility for your mistakes.

Can't speak highly enough of Dr Fleur Cattrall and the entire team at MIVF. They made the whole experience a completely positive one for us and would highly recommend them to others. We were not only well informed from the outset but found everyone we dealt with to be both professional and compassionate. They took the time with us throughout each cycle and continually optimised our program to obtain the best result possible. We're now parents to two amazing children and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to any others experiencing fertility challenges.

We had a fantastic experience with Dr. Parmar and all of the staff & nurses. IVF is a tough road in itself so we were happy to have been assisted all the way through. Highly recommend Dr. Parmar & Melb IVF.

Our experience with Melbourne IVF was flawless. After 6 failed cycles at another fertility clinic, We ve decided to change doctor and fertility clinic. Dr Fleur Cattral took the time to understand our case, listened to our concerns and most importantly cared! The treatment she suggested not only took into consideration my ongoing fight with endometriosis but was also focussed on providing the best possible result without excessive medication and injections as we have done in the past. We saw the embryo on the day of the transfer, got a rating for the quality of the embryo and the transfer was also done by our doctor which made the whole experience less stressful. We are now the proud parents of a baby boy after a very long IVF journey. Many thanks to Dr Cattral & her whole team, Brad the embryologist, and Melbourne IVF for caring and for your professionalism, making our dream of becoming a parent a reality. I would highly recommend Dr Fleur Cattral and Melbourne IVF to anyone.

Melbourne IVF assisted my partner and I to have two children over 7 years with 5 cycles. I was told from the beginning I had good prospects because I was young and my sense is this is one of THE biggest factors for success. I always thought Melbourne IVF were efficient, courteous and very good at what they did - medically speaking. ART is emotionally and physically tough even when things are going well. I don't think any of the Doctors can or should provide the emotional support required to go through this. My advice is to look for most of your support elsewhere and don't enter ART without a view on how you will cope if things don't work, a plan for when it will be time to stop trying and a positive view about yourself and your future without children. This can help deal with inevitable failures.

Brilliant empathy, transparency, continuity of care and success rates even for complex cases. There's a reason they're still in the baby business after 30+ years. Highly skilled doctors with specialties to suit any fertility problem and lovely local clinics to make you feel like a person, not a number. Top notch quality of care, commitment to confidentiality and research to continually improve this remarkable technology.
I owe my gift of two babies to MIVF :)

I have been fortunate to have had a very positive experience at Melbourne IVF . From day 1, all the medical staff I had look after me were professional, diligent and genuinely cared. I always felt like I was receiving the best attention from all the nursing and support staff, and especially my IVF specialist Dr Fleur Cattrall. Dr Cattrall s superior expertise in fertility enabled my husband and I to receive appropriate examinations to promptly diagnose our issues in conceiving. We have just completed our first IVF cycle with excellent results. We cannot thank Dr Cattrall and the team enough for their highest duty of care throughout this emotionally and physically difficult process.

This organisation is very professional when it comes to billing you and extracting money from you however they are poor at providing professional and ethical IVF services.
In addition when we attempted to question our treating doctor, he ignored us totally and when we tried to redress the poor IVF services they provided through the medical director he did not support us or answer our questions.

Stay away from this organisation and travel to Greece to recieve professional and customer focussed services.

I had a fantastic experience with Melbourne IVF. They were efficient and organised with a 100% genuine caring and supported atmosphere. Given the sensitivity of the situations they face their professionalism was very impressive and I would recommend them to anyone.

MIVF and Dr Knight did an amazing job. They demonstrated professionalism, transparency, proactive communication, and sensitivity throughout what can be a very challenging time for most people. I would most definitely recommend them. I also recommend that anyone navigating this process make sure they go in to it with the support they need and not rely on medical staff, who are focused on providing you (and many others day after day) with the best medical support they can.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON MELB IVF, unless you have a preference for basic, negligent, rude, heartless, robotic treatment and enjoy being severely overcharged. I saw two different specialist at Melb IVF over this past year. The first failed to inform me of the risks in travelling to ZICA infested locations, when I informed her of plans to travel to Mexico. Instead of highlighting the risks and ensuring I undertake treatment before I left, she encouraged me to do it straight after my return.... what she did provide were tips on where to go, including parts of the jungle (where many mosquitoes live). Soon after I became aware of the potential risks coincidentally through friends. By this time it was too late to book in for the egg collection before the trip. On my return I had to wait 3 weeks before I could take a blood test to ensure that I didn't contract the virus and an additional 2 weeks for the results. Luckily I did receive the all clear, but then had to wait to book in to see a different specialist. So instead of a February collection, I had a July collection... I lost a very valuable 6 months due to her negligence. I note that women who have been to ZICA affected areas are not able to donate their eggs to others, I can't remember for how long. In any case, no-one in their right mind would want to spend thousands of dollars and inject themselves with hormones, to risk ZICA affected eggs. This Dr also failed to provide comprehensive information about the process. She did ask me if I had any questions, however you don't know what you don't know! The second Dr, was somewhat more informative when I visited and explained a little more about the procedure, growing follicles etc. Good manners on the first visit, so I decided to go with her. BAD CHOICE! Upon my first scan, when only 4 follicles were present and I was visibly upset, she remarked coldly and without any empathy, 'that it's too early to tell'. I felt like she spoke to me like a child who wanted more lollies. I feel that this was also dishonest, clearly there weren't many follicles and unlikely that the round was going to result in high number of eggs being collected. The next appointments were much of the same, robotic and heartless. Telling me that 'it's just a back up, you can do another round'. That's all well and good when your salary is up in the hundreds of thousands because you're taking advantage of vulnerable women. Further, I have since gone to a different clinic, where the staff are compassionate, caring, helpful, informative, absolutely lovely every single one of them. There they charge thousands of dollars less for service that is thousands of times more professional and informative. I was also put on a much higher dose of drugs from the beginning. Conveniently Melb IVF started me off on a low dose, I guess because it doesn't matter because they want you to come back for multiple rounds as this allows them to line their pockets with your money! And exceptionally deep pockets they must be! On top of all this, they now what to charge me $300 to transfer my eggs to the other lab. The other clinic I am now going to isn't charging a cent. In bold and underline, Melb IVF's email back to me reads:
This fee is non-negotiable and is established by Management to cover:

1. Initial Patient contact
2. Sending and receiving paperwork
3. Liaising with:
a. Medical Records
b. Receiving clinic
c. Couriers
d. Accounts department
e. Scientists
f. Donor team (if required)
4. Preparation of Export letter
5. Logging and noting all steps and contact in data system
6. Preparation of all collected paperwork and set up for shipping
7. Packing of Bio items in time for courier deadline

From what I see it's very expensive admin.

My advice is to undertake your own research all of the labs in Melbourne and then make sure you don't go to Melb IVF!

Response to MelbIVF below: If you were genuinely sorry you would review your excessive fee structure!

I had a terrible experience hear I just found out last week that I m not pregnant! Could not thank Dr Genia Rozen enough for her swift action and care. While seeing her for infertility she had noticed something was wrong. In only just a few short weeks I was rushed in to have major abdominal surgery and then diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. I was fortunate enough to be able to have my eggs frozen with Melbourne IVF prior to starting chemo. Genia is a credit to her profession. I cannot thank her and the Melbourne IVF team enough for their care during such a difficult time in my life.

I had a truly wonderful experience with Dr Rachel Knight at Melbourne ivf East Melbourne clinic. From my initial consult with her I was immediately made to feel at ease. Her approachability, professionalism and extremely caring nature both throughout the process and post ER never went unnoticed. Her nursing staff and clinic staff were just as lovely and were always happy to assist with any questions or concerns. Which made the entire experience so much more pleasant and stress free. I will certainly be recommending Dr Knight to anyone else requiring ivf in the future.

IVF is a daunting thought but the team at Melbourne IVF were so lovely, caring and helpful throughout the whole process. We couldn't recommend Dr Kokum Jayasinghe enough to undertake the IVF journey with. Dr Jayasinghe is fantastic, so talented, funny and friendly, she really makes you feel at ease every step of the way. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back in a few years time.

I think they did a very poor job. I took 10 eggs and my husband s sperm quality was not bad. I chose a Malaysian doctor to do it, and the result was two embryos. I think it s incredible. The technology is really bad. The doctors didn't have any sense of responsibility either. They felt that they had no sympathy. They spent so much money and failed to get a baby.

We are very happy with our experience with Melbourne IVF. Our specialist Dr Kokum Jayasinghe is very warm and caring in her approach, and has been wonderful throughout. We recently went through IVF and the MIVF team were fantastic. The patient liaisons and nurses were professional and supportive, and explained things so clearly so we knew exactly what to expect. We are also very grateful to the people 'behind the scenes' such as the embryologists and accounts people. Thank you very much and we would definitely recommend Dr Kokum and MIVF.
