Lovely Saturday brunch for group of 8 at the Meadowood Grill. Lovely views, delicious food, attentive service, and overall welcoming experience. The staff were friendly and food was delivered quickly. Food was pricey, but what you would expect at a resort. Will return in the future to get the Restaurant at Meadowood!

You come here for the experience the chef and staff want to present. You either like it or not but it would not be the gem in the region if it wasn't for the excellent service. Impeccable, professional and warm. It takes special people to make The Restaurant a place you want to come visit again and again. Thank you Sean for your attentive service as well as all the other servers. To Liz, wishing you all the best in the next chapter of your endeavors.

LUXURIOUS LUNCH DESTINATION

As our large charter bus pulled up the drive toward Meadowood, we looked out the window at a roadside covered with shady trees and lush greenery. The landscape had drastically changed since the winery we'd stopped at earlier. This felt like a mountainy-forest retreat - it very much reminded me of driving to summer camp many years ago. Pools came in and out of view with beautiful green lawns between them. The bus parked and our special event was a short walk away to an area set up next to the croquet lawn and above the golf course. The view surrounding us was magnificent and the large Meadowood building stood grandly in the background.

Tables were beautifully set, each seating eight (or nine?) with silverware ready for several courses. We probably had a hundred people in our group. The temperature reached 92 degrees on this particular afternoon, so there was a scramble for seating under umbrellas, which were at most of the tables, covering only a couple seats at each. Uh oh. I pulled out my spf 110 and protected my face, and then put some spf 4 on my arms. I love the sun. However, several others in our group looked ready to wither within moments. Not to worry: the staff carried huge, heavy umbrellas from a great distance away, and set them up slowly all around us, creating a great, umbrella covering above almost everyone. Honestly, the silverware was initially too hot to even touch. They worked hard and fast; this probably should have been thought of before our arrival, but they definitely corrected the error and it didn't take very long. We were even provided individual sun parasols to hold during the time it took them to bring the bigger umbrellas.

We started with warm bread and olive oil. Our wine glasses were filled and water glasses were never below half full. The first dish brought out was a beet and green salad. Candied pistachios in place of croutons for some crunchy bites. Very good. Would have liked to see more beets. Baby beets were used, the size of large cherry tomatoes. I don't think people realized those were the beets until they took a bite. Next came lobster bites with caviar on top and potato chips (sounds odd, right?) Dots of creme fraiche were on the plate for dipping. Unbelievably good. I again wished there were more than four bites! Hard to believe this was my second favorite, but nothing beat the lamb we received next. Cooked perfectly. Seasoned perfectly. Pretty sure it was American lamb; and it was outstanding. A german chocolate crusted dessert finished our meal in the sweetest way. I casually ran my fingers across the plate to get every last bite. Yeah, I'm that girl.

So aside from the food, what really stood out was the service. Bread was replenished on bread plates without having to ask for more. Wine flowed through the entire meal. And I never once was without water. I usually am that thirsty person at the table that feels bad for pestering servers for more water throughout my meals, but the staff here was totally on top of it. Also, everyone at the table was served at once. Very classy.

The entire afternoon oozed a glorious feeling of luxury. Professional staff-persons. Beautiful setting. Incredible meal.

I could not speak more highly of this place. The service and the rooms are fantastic. If you want a total retreat. Before coming they took care of every detail with only a days notice and made reservations at the best places. I can t get over how Friendly the staff were and accommodating coordinating with our driver and all of the restraunts and wineries in town. Unfortunately my mom got sick after flying in and they took care of everything. They had a car waiting for her when we arrived and took her straight to her room and did an amazing turn down service and helped her feel better emensely. We wouldn t have had the same vacation with out them.

Thank you!!! The Alberts and Marsh Family.

Last of the big three stars that I've visited. Just the right amount and pacing of food, I didn't leave over full like I have at some Michelin dinners. The atmosphere and presentation is more remeniscent of European restaurants. Overall good, but didn't stand out particularly amongst the other three stars, but similarly nothing to complain about.

This time we took advantage of The Restaurant, The Grill, and their spa. This place is unlike anything we have experienced this far a wildly luxurious resort where every staff member you come in contact with genuinely wants to make your stay special; they know your name; and you don't want to leave. There's also a golf course, croquet, pool, and fitness center.

I have never been anywhere that I felt so welcome, and pampered. Every person there was friendly and had a smile on at all times. If you're ever thinking of a romantic getaway, Meadowood is the place to be!

We went there to get breakfast at The Grill after calling to check on their wait time. When we got there it had gotten too long for us to wait or we'd have missed a flight. The grounds were beautiful and we're looking forward to returning for the full experience.

Great food, great wines, great service. Went there for their 12 days of Christmas dinner. Things started with a free glass of Champaign, then a really cool kitchen tour where you get to go into the area and the staff even greets you. One nice holiday touch is that they had it 'snow' outside one of the windows. The pairings were great. Though, we did not have a consistent 1:1 or even 2:1 types of wine to a course. It was not always communicated that the current wine would be paired with this and the next x courses. However, the staff would always refill your glass. After dinner, we had a chance to sip some spiced rum that the guest chef brought with them, at a fireplace near the Christmas trees and enjoy out roasted chestnuts.

While I'm sure I could find things to nitpick with Meadowood, I would say that Meadowood is one of the best experiences I've ever had at any hotel/resort in the US. The service is superior, you wouldn't notice them unless you need them. They attend to every single detail impeccably and are friendly and responsive. Tennis facilities are first rate and the room service breakfast -- while pricey -- is frankly off the charts delicious. It has a wonderful location in a quiet area. We stayed elsewhere the last time we were in Napa and it reminded me that Meadowood is an incredible experience, you can only compare it to other ultra high end places like Calistoga Ranch etc. It almost isn't fair because of how unbelievable they are in terms of quality.

Ate at the bar which includes a three course meal. The food was incredible, with presentation that surpassed our experience at The French Laundry. Service was also friendly and courteous, although a bit slow at times. We didn't mind though as we enjoyed the ambiance at the bar and it drinks.

A sharp contrast to to the elegantly refined #tfl who've set the foundation of American fine dining
#tram is profoundly simple, perhaps leads the way to the genre's eventual evolution.

Micah and the somm team curated selections from the smallest producers from the old world to the biggest classics from the new.

While just the majority the dishes are absolutely hedonistic, all of them make your wonder just how disciplined the kitchen is to distill each "star-ingredient" down to its very essence?

While I am always seeking for layers of textures in my dish, the harmonious unison of these creations offered great counter points to what foods taste like.

Kohlrabi & Caviar, Black cod and Truffled Quail "pokeball"highlighted my meal, yet to me the whole is still greater than the sum of its parts, including a couple misses on perfect service.

#cheers to my cousin and her husband James for this unforgettable experience. @ The Restaurant at Meadowood

The cottage my husband & I stayed in felt like a tree house, which I LOVED +
The staff was super nice & accommodating.
We got to play Croquet with Mike, the resident Croquet Pro & had a fabulous time.
The Lemon Blueberry Pancakes for breakfast where by far the very best meal I had during our stay.
While wood burning fireplaces wreck havoc on my sinuses, we still very much enjoyed the fireplace in our room & had a fire burning at all times when we were in the room.....very romantic

some of the staff is great. the restaurant is nothing but attitude. we were late so they told us too bad. There is no real room service. I have an early flight so tried to order food at 6 am and they said they were closed. I'll admit that part of it was my fault but they didn't have to be mean about it. I have stayed in the valley a few times. I have raved over this place. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I have enjoyed The Restaurant at Meadowood many times and it never fails to impress! This time I also took a cooking class with Chef Danielle and it was an absolutely perfect experience - great learning, great food, great company, great fun! Everyone involved in my stay provided top-notch service; and having a fresh-laid wood fire in my room s fireplace while admiring the lush green forest out my window and listening to the gentle rain was heavenly relaxation!

I think I expected too much.

If you want to enjoy your time without any disturbance, you can stay in their hut.

The rooms are great and the service is pretty good as well. Their spa is worth a visit. The downside is everything is really far apart on the grounds so you'll need to call and wait for a car everywhere you want to go if the weather is poor (e.g. to the gym or restaurants).

Awful service. Staff are indifferent and cannot satisfy even basic requests. The rooms are nicely appointed, but the praise ends there. The regular grill restaurant is not good, the pool is shockingly bad, the layout of the resort is very odd with many rooms having poor views of the parking lot and roads. The spa is really far below average.
