Had such a great day at McWane. The exhibits are always changing, bringing new and exciting things to try each time you visit. A young lady named Alia was working the World of Water exhibit and she was wonderful! So full of fun information!

It was brilliant, had a blast. There was so much to do and not enough time to everything. Itty Bitty Magic City was awesome, my niece had a wonderful time. I love it and it's definitely a place I will come back too.

We had a blast. Our 2-year old and 4-year old absolutely loved it. There was so much for both of them to do, and even my husband and I were running around like big children. The water world in the itty bitty magic city section was the kids favorite part, where as we adults enjoyed all the interactive exhibits on the main floor. You can't go wrong with fun and educational, and this is by far one of the best science centers we have visited! Just wish the bike didn't close 2 hours before the center did, because we put it off thinking we would have time before we left.

We loved this place for our 2 & 4 year olds. The water area and conveyor belt area in itty bitty magic city kept them entertained for nearly an hour by itself. The manipulatable dinosaurs were also a favorite along with the giant slide. So many great little exhibits and they were learning constantly. We've been to a lot of museums (We lived in D.C.) and this one is top of my list for interactivity and creative exhibits! Only regret is we didn't come earlier in the day to maximize our time.
Pizitz across the way is a great place to grab a bite if you're looking for a little more variety. They have a ton of different vendors offering cosine from around the world.

The McWane Science Center is a great place to take a high school biology class on a field trip. Students enjoy the GENEius lab where they get hands on experience with genetics curriculum and biotechnology. The facilitators have great energy and make sure everything goes smoothly.

An excellent experience for young children, our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter particularly liked the experience they set up for the six and under children. Parking in downtown Birmingham for only $5. Safe, convenient, and a good time. Military and their families get in free this summer! Highly recommend.

It is a great place to bring all ages of children. my son is 5 yrs and enjoyed all of the center...even the IMAX. they have a special section for children in kindergarten and under.... its so mich for them to do in there you may be stuck for hours in that location. the only down sode i had was there was a school field trip goimg on and it made it difficult for some children to see each site area.

I feel that for the price of admission ($15 per adult, $12 per child,2 and under free) you get your money's worth. They have four floors each dedicated to a different exhibit and hands on experience. They even have a area for the little ones. There is a parking deck ($5). They do have elevators. You can go to the water exhibits. It has different fish tanks and you can also touch baby stingrays and baby sharks. There is so much to see and do. They also have a theater inside. They have a combination price ($20 for adults and $15 for children). The staff does hands on science experiments with the children.

The Mcwayne Science Center is the best science center around. This place is the best place for kids to learn and do things that is hands on rather than just re as d from a book. This place makes science come alive. I would recommend coming here especially if you have kids. This would be a good learning experience for kids 5-15. This would make learning more fun.

We had so much fun here! I'm like a big kid when it comes to science museums, and this was a really good one. I don't know who played harder, my daughter or me. I would recommend planning to spend several hours here.

Kids enjoy it but the employees and rude and hateful. They rush you through and the kids can't use the exhibits much due to the next group being pushed through. Employees keep rushing everyone in a rude manner. It's as if they want you to give them your money and just go away. We went with a school field trip and if we hadn't stayed after the groups left we couldn't have enjoyed anything. Would not recommend this place as a group outing because you can't enjoy anything. We will not be back and we will recommend that for a learning experience field trip we go elsewhere.

Awesome Kids Attraction! They have multiple floors and several thousand square feet of kids activities and interactive science displays. Kids and adults both play together, and will take hours to get through. They have attractions for all ages not just school agreed children. If you have a blank afternoon and energetic kids this is the place to go! They also offer food, snacks, and an I Max theatre you can access with a combo ticket purchase.

They make learning fun. Lots of things for the kids to do. They loved the water attraction, and there are waterproof vests available so their clothes don't get wet. Itty Bitty Magic City is great. There's a mini grocery store, fire station, garage, doctors office, and more. Way too many things to list. If you live close enough to come often, get the yearly pass. It's worth it.

This is an affordable place where a child's imagination can truly run wild. They literally have something for every age. My little ones love Itty Bitty Magic City. Plan on spending several hours here to see everything. We buy a yearly membership and drive 3+ hours round trip a few times a year.

I went with my girlfriend and we still had a blast. The dinosaur section is great and very informative! We tried as much things as we could on the ground floor but it is the most chaotic (the little kids' favorite floor) so we couldn't try everything out. The employees are very hardworking and eager to help. The only reason why I give it four stars and not five is because many displays were not working correctly. I understand that it is hard to maintain the area since crazy kids will try to mess everything up to the best of their abilities but even the basic push the button for a video displays were not working at all.

Spring break was my first time attending here. We spent the entire day here and returned the following day. They do accept military discount which helped. My 5 year daughter loves this place. There's a lot to do here for children. There are 3 floors od fun. My daughter especially loves the kitchen area. I would definitely recommend this place to parents.

Wow! What a fun place for my kids! We were just visiting Birmingham for the day and my four year-old and two-year-old absolutely loved this science Center. so did I to be quite honest! There's something here for everyone. The toddler area was a blast for them and had so many different activities for them to get their hands on and enjoy. They loved the dinosaur bones and birds on display that you can push a button to hear the bird sounds. They also had a great time with the huge multicolored display that you can put your hand or face or body into and make an impression. I'm not sure how else to describe that thing but it's pretty cool.
I wish we had this science center where we live back in Memphis! Would love to go again

Great interactive center for kids and adults alike. Many hands on activities to teach you about science and the natural world over 3 floors of exhibits. Beware of crowded school field trip days for visiting the cafe and the gift shop.

I loved it when I was a kid, loved it when I was in high school, and love it now as a teacher and as a mom. I super love the Itty-bitty Magic City section for 5 and under, if I lived closer we'd buy a membership.
