I have been taking lessons from Robert since I truly took up and learned the game less than 2 years ago. In that time he has built a golf swing from the ground up using flawless communication. His understanding of the game and how to build a swing for each and every unique person is incredibly advanced. His communication skills make him extremely personable and friendly. You immediately feel as though he cares about you and your progression. He has the experience of every level of golf possible, all the way up to major championships, having played in the British Open. His specialty (besides his personality and communication) is every golfer's weakness; the short game. His chipping and putting prowess is incredible. If anyone can help you accomplish your dreams of tournament golf or just becoming slightly better, it is Robert. I could no be happier with my results.

My son has been going to McMillan golf academy since he was five. He loves it. The academy location is at a 36 hole course so it's always easy for Mr McMillan to take cooper onto the course.

robert has fixed many, many flaws in my golf swing. now he's working on my over the top move by shallowing the club on the downswing. i am very happy with my improvement so far and am very happy that i am working with robert.

My daughter Kaitlyn is a high school freshman and started with Robert in 2018. Kaitlyn wasn't progressing and Robert had previously taught my son. After the first lesson with Robert, she was hooked! She loved how he related the changes she needed to make, gave her drills she could incorporate into practice and set goals for her. My daughter's love for the game, consistency and competitiveness is do to her continued work with Robert.

Robert is hands down the best instructor I have ever encountered. I have been playing golf for over 20 yrs. I've taken lessons from several instructors, all of whom were decent, but not great. I had hit a plateau with my golf swing before working with Robert, and was stuck shooting in the 80s for the better part of the last 10 yrs. I'd read countless books and spent hundreds of hours studying the golf swing, and even more hours than that practicing. I've been working with Robert for a few months now and can honestly say I have never hit the ball as well as I am now. I knew after my first lesson Robert had the ability to make my dream of being a low handicap golfer come true. I honestly believe any golfer of any skill level will benefit from working with Robert. If you are serious about improving your golf game Robert is your guy. Take it from me, Robert is the REAL DEAL!

Robert McMillan is by far the best instructor I have found. His approach to teaching the game from beginners to touring professionals is excellent. He gives excellent visual demonstrations during the lesson and solidifies the demo with a video commentary after every lesson. Robert is one of the top short game instructors in the country. He learned from the man widely regarded as the best short game player in history; he uses those lessons and passes them along to his students.

These examples of premier coaching pale in comparison to his work in our community. Robert does community service and charity work weekly. He has affected our community in a way that most people never dream of.

Robert is the epitome of the example the PGA hopes for its professionals to embody. He is a shining example of how a gentleman and professional conduct themselves. I m proud to be a part of his academy; I m lucky to also be considered a friend.

Robert has been outstanding. He quickly identifies the root of the problems and provides an easy to understand way to work to correct it. He works with my young son and has the ability to effectively communicate complicated things while keeping it simple and fun.

I have taken golf lessons from a number of instructors over the years and it wasn't until I heard about Robert McMillan through a friend and have seen his dramatic improvements in his abilities and scores that I decided to give Robert a try. For the first time in all my years of lessons from other instructors it was Roberts teaching skills that helped me understand the golf swing and how to apply what I was being instructed and shown. I was committed to learn and had found someone that had patience, knowledge and understanding of ever aspect of the game and swing and someone who was excellent in communicating so I could understand and visulize. He told me from the start of my first lesson that I was going to be taught the correct methods and no short cuts allowed. My fellow golfers saw the change in my game from my first lesson I took and Robert has successfully built upon it from there. My handicap has dropped dramatically and more importantly my enjoyment of the game has never been higher. Roberts a pleasure to take lessons from and one of my biggest fans.

Robert is an amazing golf instructor! His teaching style reaches so many because he listens and communicates very effectively. Great with kids and adults. I play without my right arm, and that didn't change his focus or plan for me. Got a series of lessons with Robert to prepare for some upcoming tournaments and I'm so pleased with the progress we've made. I will continue to lean on him for instruction.

This has been the best golf instruction I have received thus far. Robert has a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the game, if you have never swung a club or have been playing for years, he can give you the tools to take your game to the next level.

Robert McMillan is the founder/ower of McMillan Golf Academy. I have known Robert since 2018 and took and intorductory lesson from him. I was so moved by that lesson that I wanted to keep going with lessons with him, but life got in the way. Since reconnecting with Robert, he has changed my game around. Robert is not just a great teacher of the game, he is very personable person. He cares about all of his students so much that when I wanted to take a lesson from him I was not 100% but wanted to do it anyways. Robert told me to take care of my body and let him know when I was 100% becasue he didn't want me swinging a club knowing that it might cause more injury. That is something I didn't expect, but that is just who Robert is, a professional, a gentleman, a husband, a fathrer and grandfather, but most importantly a genuine humand being and a person I can call my friend. Before seeing Robert I was struggling to break 80. After just a few lessons with him I am now able to go out and shoot par or better. I had a short game lesson with him that included bunker play. Robert said that he learned the bunker play from none other than the late Seve Ballesteros. I learned so much in that one hour with Robert that I now have the arsenal to go out and play any golf course and know that if I land in a bunker I will be able to get up and down from what I learned from Robert. As a matter of fact after that lesson, I went out shot a 2 under 70 at my home course. Robert's knowledge of the swing and short game are excellent. Robert has a stable full of students from juniors all the way to the PGA and LPGA tours. Thank you Robert for changing my game for the better!!! More low scores to come thanks to you!

My first lesson with Robert was fantastic. Although I have some major swing flaws, Robert is so positive, & he worked with me on a plan to start the process of improving. It s not just the technical parts of the swing he helped me with. Our discussion about fitness & diet were just as important for long term success. I can t wait to continue our work together. Having played a lifetime of other sports, I decided to try golf and signed up with Robert. He has coached me just about every week for the past six months. Working with Robert has been a great experience. He presents the information at the right pace and breaks down this complicated game into easily understood parts. Robert is an amazing teacher and has become a mentor for my son Matthew. He has taught him all about the game of golf and how to be a respectful young man. Matthew has been working with Robert for 2 years and has learned so much from him. He has learned the proper swing technique to become a more consistent golfer. Robert not only is a great person and coach, he also knows how to instill confidence in those he teaches. My older son has been taking lessons from Robert for about 2 years and has had great success in working towards his goal of playing in college. My youngest son just started with him and cannot wait for his lessons. His growth in just a few lessons has been great! With golf being such a "mental" game, a coach needs to know how to work with all levels of students and how to manage different personalities as well. Robert does it all with ease and a smile on his face. We would not send our boys to learn from anyone else!

Robert McMillan is an incredible instructor. He has helped me numerous times with my golf swing. Robert is able to pick out the little things that are holding me back every time I go to see Robert. I ve seen a lot of golf teachers, some good and some not so good.

Robert McMillian is on a different level when it comes to teaching. His communication level is at a level that s second to none. He communicates in a way that the students can clearly understand, what he s saying and then he breaks it down and shows you how to apply it in the simplest terms.

Regardless if your a beginner golfer or someone that plays competitive golf. When you have Robert as a teacher regardless of which category you fall in, he gives you 100% of his attention. If you want to improve and improve quickly and are lucky enough to get on his calendar, then I d say jump at that opportunity NOW! You will be glad you did.

Has the ability to explain to all types of golfers how to get better!! I am playing so much better after working with Robert. One of the very best coaches out there!!

I have taken lessons from about 10 different golf professionals in my life, including some rather famous ones that I have paid a lot of money. Robert is the most knowledgeable of all, but his knowledge isn't really the biggest plus when it comes to learning from Robert. I believe there are 2 big things that make Robert a cut above all the rest - 1) his ability to see exactly what you need to work on and do it quickly. And 2) once he identifies what you need to change, Robert can explain it to you, including how it should feel when done properly. He is the absolute best.

Robert is a fantastic teacher. I came to him as a guy only playing golf for a couple years but loving it so much I decided to career change into it. Robert has been my son s coach for approximately four months and the growth that we have witnessed is nothing short of incredible. Robert not only teaches golf fundamentals but also instills an appreciation and respect for the game. We are so fortunate to have found Robert and are grateful for the path he has created as our son embarks on the Southlake Carroll Golf program. We feel it speaks volumes that our son looks forward to his time with Robert and absorbs as much as he can in the time spent at McMillian Golf Academy.

Last fall we were searching for a golf coach for our son and asked around the golf community we were in. Robert McMillan's name came up. A week later we happened to be at Bear Creek for a golf tournament with our son and we stopped by to introduce ourselves and talk with Robert. We asked Robert a few questions and the one that stood out for us was "Why should we choose you and McMillan golf?" Robert's answer was simple "I am the best!" Our son has been with Robert since and he is absolutely wonderful. Our son was 16 at the time and Robert and our son get along so well. Robert has a way of working with kids, serious when needed and fun and witty in between.

He broke our sons swing down and they are now heading towards consistency. We love being around Robert and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their game and mechanics, especially the juniors (nothing against the adults).

Robert is not only a top-flight instructor, but a person with a HUGE and ever-giving heart. As for instruction, he made me a single-digit handicap within just a few lessons. He has a unique ability to quickly identify how each person learns and he taps right into their individual strengths which makes each person leave better than they showed up for a lesson - every time.

That said, his technical teaching prowess takes a back seat to his giving heart. I am a board member for Mothers Abandoned and Widowed which is a charity helping mothers achieve degrees or certifications in order to create sustainable households. Robert has been proactive each year to not only donate his time for our event and leading a fund raising beat the Pro event he has also sought out people to play in the tourney and has secured signed articles for auction.

I could recommend Robert in other ways that would take 10+ paragraphs. To keep it short, I will simply say that Robert is a pure gem...the best instructor I and others have ever used, and a person with a never ending, giving heart.

I truly was about to give up the game. I have played for years and tried other instructors. I just was not getting it. Roberts ability to explain in detail with terms that I understand is outstanding. For instance, deviation as it pertains to your hands, you will have to ask him haha. Not mention the kids he mentors and instructs. It doesn't matter what your handicap is I have no doubt he can help. Thank you Robert for ALL you do!
