Excellent food and good service. Went with the Black Widow Porter since it was available, which is definitely a great one. Can definitely recommend the Pool Hall in the basement as well. Good times!

Always a great time at McMenamins. Fun bars, hotel, and amazing food! Fun for a weekend getaway, especially at the spa, and just a night out with your significant other/friends. Location is a farther away, but definitely worth the drive!
Great music venue, neat golf course, amazing hotel. Be aware when booking a room that it IS such an amazing venue. Don't get upset when you can hear music until 10pm on a Saturday night and yell at the host like what I witnessed yesterday.
Well what do ya think of a property you can wonder around and smell fresh flowers, beer brewing, enjoying the day. This place is a wonderful area to enjoy on a sunny day. Grab a pint or a glass of wine wonder and enjoy, oh and the food isn't bad either. It is a bit busy on the weekends just fyi
Edgefield is a great place to go just for hanging out. I usually go with my co-workers and we get food and drinks at the Power Station after a long week. The servers are always very friendly and are happy to answer any questions we may have and regularly check on our table.
Very cool spot to go for an afternoon. Fun to wander the campus, made up of the renovated buildings of an old sanitarium on a big, highly landscaped plot. Stopped in at several of the pubs, all with a different theme, and at one point wandered into a live glass-blowing demonstration. Will definitely go back, there is also a par three golf course and a hot spring spa that I want to check out. Parking seemed to be pretty limited, although there are more lots tucked away further into the campus, so there is definitely more than there seems to be. And if the line at the distillery is out the door, find one of the little four- table taverns to get a drink at first.
Edgefield is a great place to go to with a group of people. There are so many cool bars all over the place. They also have golf and it's beautiful out there.
Edgefield property is always lovely, but on my latest visit the server at the Power Station was very scattered and took a really long time at each point in the service, including forgetting to bring the beer we ordered. Good thing the sun was shining and the landscaping was so relaxing
Edgefield is an adult playground in all of the best ways possible. Their drinks are phenomenal, cajun tots during happy hour are enough to make anyone smile, and don't even get me started on the soaking pool! (It's like a heated tropical paradise and they use salt instead of chlorine!!) Oh, and if you're interested in how what you're sipping on was made, they give daily tours of the brewery, distillary, and winery that's right there on the grounds. All in all, Edgefield for the win!
The venue and hotel were really, really lovely. I went for a Fleet Fox concert, but didn't stay overnight. The staff I did talk to while exploring the hotel were very friendly and guests seemed happy. I tried their black cat wine while watching the concert - it was VERY good. And their blackberry cider was also extremely tasty. Unfortunately with all the fires going on, I didn't enjoy the experience quite as much as I could have, but that's not the hotel's fault. Overall, gorgeous location, good drinks, nice staff. I'd love to be an overnight guest sometime to get the full experience.
What a great place for adults to hang out! Beautiful grounds packed with restaurants and taverns all over. The hotel had great rooms with artistic paintings throughout. There is no ac in most of the rooms but they do have floor fans that help a lot. The spa and pool area was just gorgeous and the pool bar had tasty drinks. Things are pretty expensive all over but for the experience it was worth it. They have lots of concerts there for you to check out. We were there for a wedding and it was absolutely beautiful! Go check it out!
Every nook and corner has been artistically and methodically renovated. The grounds and hotel are almost magical. Just don't go into the stair well in the front wing.
Stayed in the men's hostel room for a work event. Staff was nice and responsive, event catering was great, but I'm not sure if it was from on-site. Hostel room was clean and very affordable, shared bathrooms were clean and separated enough to make it not feel like sharing.
This place is amazing! It has a brewery, winery and distillery, along with many other accommodations. There is a pitch and put golf course, a spa, a movie theater, along with a giant amphitheater that attracts big name artists. Definitely worth going to if you are in the Portland area. As some have said, it is a playground for adults.
Have been to Edgefield many times over the years. I love the consistency of the chain. Always an inviting atmosphere with killer food and drinks. I know there are endless options of entertainment there; movie theater, cigar bar, multiple reastaruant, multile bars, shuffle board, pool tables, billards, hotel, spa, golfing, wine, spirits, and beer...The list goes on. Kid friendly. Pet friendly. Great events space, carolers in the Christmas season. Biggest and baddest of the all of the McMenamins I've been to. Typical McMenamins service in peak hours... I will continue going there and suggest you do as well.
My wife and I have been going to Edgefield for our anniversary for the last 18+ years, as time has gone by the cost has increased to an extremely high cost with nothing added to the quality of service, quality of food, or experience. The food is nothing special, plain pub food, good food but just classic pub type food but the cost is high end restaurant prices. It would be cheaper to eat at a Red Robin or Old Chicago style restaurant and the quality of service and food would be better. It is very sad to me because this is one of my favorite places to go. The grounds are beautiful but not as kept up as the used to be. I guess nothing last forever. Very disappointed.
The pool is awesome, but overall it's not my favorite McMenamins due to the high prices and long waits. The rooms are not sound proof at all and you can't regulate your own temperature.
Dirty hotel rooms. Filthy bathrooms. Very rude staff. The Power Station massively fails on health inspection regularly. Bed bugs. Very loud obscenely drunk people nightly. Puke and human poop on some bathroom floors. Security is known to become violent and think they are actually police officers. Guest on guest violence which spills into innocent bystanders is a regular occurrence. Also employees are allowed to drink on premises act like it's their personal club house get belligerent and treat patrons like an inconvenience. Visit at your own risk.
I went for a dinner with my girlfriend, but we didn't make reservations, so upon a long wait (which we completely understood/half expected) we decided to have a beer and walk around. The staff was friendly, the beer was great, and the grounds are fantastic. Despite not getting dinner there, it was still a great time and I highly recommend edgefield.
I was SERIOUSLY disappointed. I have always had an AWESOME experience, and so took a friend for her first time to the Black Rabbit Bar for a meal and Spanish Coffees (her FAVORITE drink). The Spanish Coffee was AWFUL! It tasted like molasses. Instead of offering to fix it (as other places do), I was charged an additional $7 to make it drinkable. What a sad initiation to an otherwise wonderful place. My friend was totally turned off!
I am in love with everything about this place! The only sad thing was most of the bars closed at midnight! But the distillery was very cute and open late. We had a great time!
Absolutely beautiful place! A few eating options and shopping and beautiful grounds to walk through. Right off the highway that runs through the Gorge!
McMenamins Edgefield is awesome. A must stop for tourists and locals alike. The grounds are great, beer is decent and the food is palatable. Go here for the experience though it's great!
We love McMenamin's in general, but Edgefield is by far our favorite. Easily has the best atmosphere, and the bars are all unique and each one is fantastic. The food is great as always, too. Most of the time we go just to walk around and relax. Can't wait until they open up the jail they bought a few years ago!
Celebrated two birthdays, met some new friends bouncing from campfire to campfire. Fun place, favorite time of year is during the summer, but had such a great time even being cold, the campfires kept us warm, great conversation and a libation or two followed with a bite later in the evening just a great time. Suggest renting a room on property enjoy the spa, wander around with a wine or beer have a bite, you wont regret it. You might even see the dude out and about lol. The dude abides. Even take in a concert during summer months. Enjoy!
A great place to wander around for a few hours and have a bite to eat. We ate at the Loading Dock and while the food is good the service is fairly slow. I don't understand why Pizza would take an hour to make. The pitch and putt Golf Course is a great idea and lots of Fun. It's a beautiful locations with beautiful views.
I stayed for a couple nights in the women's hostel and had a pleasant experience. For the price, it was great. The bathrooms are all private units with a shower and toilet which is lovely. A bit of a walk to get to the baths, though. The bunks themselves are kind of old and make a lot of noise when you climb into them. So much that you'll wonder if it's going to collapse. The room for the women's hostel has twelve beds and very poor air circulation as the large room is shaped like an L with only one small window towards the front, but at the back it gets very dark if you prefer darkness for sleeping. But because of the darkness, people will always need to turn on the lights after dark which may disturb others. The perks of the hotel such as the soaking pool are available to those who stay in the hostel, which is great. Ample parking and an easy trip into Portland. Great location for those wishing to go for hikes in the parks. Downtown Troutdale is also adorable and not too far. The charm of the old building is also quite magical.
Elegant, old school hotel with modern amenities. I came for one of the summer concerts on the lawn and reserved a single room for the night. Beautiful gardens surround the hotel. Great food and drink as you would expect from a Mcmenamins. Wonderful venue for concerts and other summer events.
During check-in, a package that was purchase should have been placed in room, and it wasn't there. During checkout issue with the bill, needed to provide an itemized receipt. Overall visit was Ok.
We took a large group (14) for a work function. I called to make reservations and they didn't bat an eye. Even called to confirm the night before. All the out of town guests enjoyed it! I was worried about the limited menu, but no complaints.
Great little gift shop that sells all their booze and coffee as well as a ton of unique and rather Portland-themed things. And the restaurants are all delicious.
Absolutely fantastic place! The downstairs bar is the perfect hideout and offers a nice selection of craft brews and drink options. Ask for Kelly she s awesome!!
