McLaurin Parking Company Review

There should be a section for no stars. This parking lot is a rip off. We parked at number 23 in the lot. We then went to a metal box with slots on it and placed four dollars in number 23 as the signs in the lot dictate. The lot we were in only had two exits and you could not move from one lot to the next without exiting and going into the street. When we came back from a nice meal we found a citation stating we had not paid. Apparently we were to go to the next lot and pay at a different box which supposedly also had a number 23 on it. The citation said pay by a certain date or you owe more. (Up to $100 if you don't pay by a certain date.) It is not as if we were the only people doing this. There were people waiting behind us to place their money in the same metal box. At minimum there needs to be a sign placed on the metal box which we used stating that the place to pay for the other number 23 is in the adjacent lot. I believe the city needs to look out for the citizens of Raleigh and either get McLaurin Parking to modify their agreement or cancel their contract all together. My preference is for the city to cancel their contract.

Urinals that happen to have parking, with a great view of the downtown area.

Better bring a change of shoes because you'll be splish-splashing through puddles of pee.

Also, McLaurin more or less has a monopoly on downtown parking so prepare to pay for the pleasure.

McLaurin Provided transportation for my son's wedding weekend. Unbelievably professional, nice, prompt and reasonably priced. I highly recommend!

Horrible experience, terrible company. No sign in the space where I parked and the nearby spaces were covered with weeds. They claimed they have a regular maintenance crew so that the signs were visible. False. I paid the citation to be rid of this company. I will never park in one of their lots again.

My 77 mother was out getting some lunch with my daughter and parking in one of McLaurin parking spaces off Logan Street. She did not see the parking sign and there were a lot of parking spaces. She was only there for 20 minutes, comes back to the car and see the ticket for 18.00.

Called McLaurin about this rude people work for this scam of a company. Contacted BBB about it but it takes a week for them to respond. If you don't pay the ticket within a week the find goes up. After 30 it goes up 100.00. Then they take you to small claims court, What a racket the City of Raleigh allows a company to treat senior citizens of wake co.

I had to park in one of the McLaurin lots today to get to the courthouse. I recieved a citation for parking in a spot that a lady pulled out of and it was still paid for. The lady even gave me her ticket. It was the only parking spot available too. On the citation it said "ticket switching", there is nothing posted anywhere at the lot saying this is not allowed. They really are scammers.

One star because zero isn't an option. I live downtown in a small town that stupidly contract out to McLaurin. They booted my car for the crime of being 6 days overdue on a parking ticket. They are literally the worst people on the planet.

I have to park in downtown Raleigh for work and if there were other parking options believe me I would switch to another parking management company! I park in the Cabarrus street deck across from the Sheraton and the sole elevator in that deck is ALWAYS broken down. When you call to complain you're told it's the City of Raleigh's issue to fix. It has been down for repairs for up to a month before and just recently fixed only for it to be broken down again as of this morning. They charge $110/month to park there but make no concessions to the customers for their inconvenience other than offering golf cart shuttles to drive you to your car. It's completely unacceptable that they would charge what they do for poor facilities and poor maintenance. This is happening way too often with this deck. I've been on the wait list for another deck for a year and a half only to be told that I'm getting bumped by employees of the company that work in that building so I've made NO progress moving up the list. I'm frustrated and fed up! Terrible customer service!

I parked at a Swannoa Dry Cleaners for a few minutes I have parked their during non business hours for months no problem I parked their one time and they ticket me 60.00 all is am disabled I can't afford their corruption

Parked at the lot on the corner of Salisbury St. and Davie St. on 7/20/16. Put in $5.00 for a $2.00 30-min time slot. After trying to get my change from the machine, I noticed a very small obscure sign at the top of the machine that read "No Change Given". What a deceptive and fraudulent way for this company to keep those extra dollars. The owner must sleep well at night knowing they rip so many consumers off........

Terrible Terrible company. They steal money from you and don't give receipt. I had to pay twice for same day parking, because the attendant did not give receipt. And the company sent a notice, so I had to go in to explain..the way they treated me is as if I was a thief and trying to scam them..that put a bad taste. Which prompted me to get out of their parking deck..this keeps me applying for any companies in downtown, and even keep me away from visiting restaurants. this is a parking goons area, please avoid them and avoid the Raleigh downtown entirely . or you will have a story to share like me !!

Predatory. Misleading signs that do not explicitly tell you to pay. I got a ticket at 7:38 which is ridiculous considering I could have just parked on the street for free since it was after 5.

And you pay by putting can in a little mailbox. Totally shady. Really calls into question the legitimacy of this company.

If this happens to you contact the town of Raleigh to report. Unbelievable- Parked at what I thought was Lincoln Theatre's parking lot for a show, the parking attendant came up and told me to go pay at the terminal they have on the corner, so I paid the $7 and placed the ticket on my dash. After show, got a taxi home, came back next morning surprised as they placed a boot on my car. Card on window had $50 fee and a phone # to call. Called 4 times no answer. Went inside Lincoln and they said the parking lot is not theirs- its a Mclaurin lot? How a venue could not have control over the attached parking lot is crazy and that I should have parked across the street at the multi level parking deck. Well that great news now! I looked up Mclaurin office # and called and they sent someone to take boot off, had to pay $50- even after explaining my frustration. He said I had until 5:30 am to get my car out and btw did I see the small sign at the entrance to the lot they have? How absurd to not allow people atleast 24 hours after paying to park at a night venue. What a trap Mclaurin has, praying on people they know will drink and get taxi's home. Totally unethical and a scam. I told the Mclaurin employee he is working for a crooked business and left.

Scam artist company, some terrible woman in an old mini van exploiting fines. Very terrible people. Never received a parking citing, then got charged double for late payment.

McLaurin is pretty much the only game in town when it comes to parking in downtown Raleigh. The have convenient payment options, and pretty friendly staff. I only give it four stars because of their motorcycle policy.

There is only ONE garage in the city you're allowed to park bikes in. It just happens to be the most expensive garage in the city too. They claim it's due to safety concerns. I'm already riding a motorcycle, which is inherently dangerous. Let me take the risk and get the $75/mo lot instead of charging me $115.

Parking monopoly for the City of Raleigh that has increased rates close to 100% of original prices in the last 6 years

I've never EVER EVER been here in my life.. But I am rating them a ONE because there's not a zero!!!! I got a letter in the mail stating I had a parking citation issued to me on 11-22-2015.. They fined me for 100$. I called to tell them I have no idea what they are taking about etc... ALSO GET THIS... I LIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA. I have not been to this area of north Carolina EVER. Shoot I haven't even been to north Carolina in 5 years.. And 5 years ago I just had got my license!!! They are for sure scammers & I've never even been there and now I definitely don't plan to!!!!
