McDougals Chicken Fingers Review

Gotta love McDougal's. The chicken is awesome (similar to Zaxby's) and the sweet tea is great. The patio is a little packed right now (August 2020) but the take-out process was pretty well-managed.

Always delicious, service a bit slow, but staff super friendly.

Honey Bee sauce is my weakness. Grilled chicken strips with the sauce on the side - I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! A staple for my trips back to Nashville. They changed their fries a few years back and I wish they'd go back to the old recipe.

Disappointing meal but they were very busy. I hope this was a rare instance as I enjoy patronizing them.

Food takes a while but is good. Nothing special. One wing had a weird dark spot so I didn't eat it.

Waited too long for my food, it was very pricy and not hot when I got it. Small portion of food as well

McDougal's chicken is absolutely fantastic, made even better by it's portion size to price ratio. The service is always nice and food comes out quickly. Whether in a small or large group it's a wonderful place to stop by. I've enjoyed eating in their cozy interior and their deck, always a great stop.

The wings at this place were nice and tasty! They give a good number of dipping sauces to complement the wings. I liked it and will go back!

Very very good chicken. Get the McDougals sauce, and don't forget your free ice cream!

Not recommend. Chicken was dry. French fry's were soggy. Chicken wings were very small with little meat, even though the menu says Jumbo. Service was rude and they screwed up my order. All the items i ordered were put in one container and the sauce was mixed all over everything.

Go early for lunch. By 12 there's a line outside the door.

I stop by here for lunch whenever I am in town. There can often be a wait, but they have some of the best chicken fingers I've ever had.

Their small basket (5 pieces) is enough for a full meal.

This place is flat out cool! Great chicken, great atmosphere, and free ice cream at the end of your meal. What else do you need to say? Nothing, nothing at all.

Located in an awesome part of Nashville, this is a must for everyone. I recommend taking the afternoon in the area, grabbing great food and checking out the cool shops.

Please edit your store hours on Google jfnyoure going to be closed for the new year or at the very least put a sign up on your door. Several other parties and I were very disgruntled coming out to your shuttered restaurant.

Awesome chicken and fries and delicious sauce! The chicken tenders were so big that one large basket more than fed me and my ten-year-old. And the little cup of ice cream at the end is such a nice touch! Cute place, friendly folks, convenient to walk over from Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. We'll be back!

Delicious tender chicken wings, but a little bland without the sauces. The teriyaki one was good.

Called in, they said 10 minutes. Got there in 10 minutes. Paid, it wasn't ready. Waited another 20 minutes and still not ready and people who had literally ordered the same thing as me who were in line and paid after I got there got their food way before me (why did I call ahead again?) meanwhile my groceries are going bad in my car, the two unprofessional people working the counter both failed in my opinion and one mumbled under his breath about messing up and comping my food, which after he handed it to me he didn't follow throgh on. I love this place and frequent/ recommend it often but will probably never go back after this experience. Disrespectful.

McDougal's is a quintessential part of any chicken lover's palate. Their sauce is amazing also!

Had 12 buffalo wings with a basket of fries. The fries were well seasoned and delicious. The wings were spicy, hot, and juicy. Would've given 4 stars if my stomach wasn't destroyed for the rest of night and into the next day. My wife had the same meal and experienced the same fate. Wish they also had more wing variety. All in all, decent. Not bad at all. Makes for a good young people scene with the grunge style interior.

Chicken wings were DELICIOUS! I liked the atmosphere here as well staff is friendly, but it does get crowded the later it gets so go earlier. Also you can pay to park right across the street!

If you're looking for a place to eat on a Friday afternoon, I always tell people to go to McDougal's. They serve their iconic fresh fried chicken at a timely manner, and it's a perfect place to eat at especially when you're on the go. What's so unique about their fried chicken, however, is the batter they use (I really wish I could learn the recipe for a batter so crispy yet elastic enough to keep the chicken so juicy and tender). The only complaint I have is the size of the establishment, but it won't stop me from giving 5 stars to such an iconic Nashvillian chicken place.

Chicken was cooked perfectly. The sauces i chose were great. Especially the extra spicy. Easy going vibe. Great for casual and quick.

Had the honeybee grilled hot chicken; not spicy, lots of flavor, fries were crispy. I recommend!

Expected more. The breading just falls from the chicken and it's not very flavorful. Place has a small dining room so it gets crowded with snobby trust fund kids. Only pros are that the food is edible, they have fat bottom and the staff is nice.

Great place! Outdoor and indoor dining areas and really good Chicken. Several choices for sauces and you can have the strips tossed in a sauce and get up to three more sauces to dip. Lots of Character!

I've been to all the popular fried chicken restaurants in Nashville, and this is one is the best of the bunch for me. Sauce options are great, with the honey bee best for tossing, and fries are solid. If you're looking for something lighter the grilled chicken is surprisingly good too (they can mix and match grilled/fired as well)

One of the reasons I was a frequent customer at McDougal s for so long was the inclusion of fountain drinks in the combos. It was already annoying having to pay an extra 2.50 for a drink I used to get included, but now due to Coronavirus, they won t even allow you to get water unless you pay for it. I hate complaining about this because I m sure the pandemic has been hard on the entire restaurant industry, but it stings to no longer have that simple joy of that free McDougal s cup to take home.

Some of the best original fried chicken you can find in Nashville. Their buffalo sauce and French fries will leave you extremely satisfied. It is fun atmosphere where you can sit outside or inside. Fair price and lots of value.

Better than Zaxbys by a long shot. If you like Buffalo sauce get your chicken tossed in their Honeybee sauce.

Chicken is good but prices have been increased significantly. Price for 5 finger basket combo is $12.99 plus tax! I probably won't go there regularly anymore.

After I was told the wings I ordered could be fried hard and waited 25 minutes, my order was the exact opposite. I pulled the chewy, rubbery skin off to eat the wings but asked that my date's order be remade. The manager initially "refused" to refund, exchange or recook the order the way I asked (I was told unfortunately, I can't help you ma'am). She was extremely rude and finally reluctantly refunded me for my date's order. But I had to listen to her explain that she'd never refund an order again. The order included only six wings. BAFFLED that she was so hostile, rude and unprofessional, we left the order on the table. I will never return there...NEVER.
