What's there to say about McDougal's that hasn't already been said? It's a cultural benchmark serving excellent chicken, and a MUST visit restaurant for anyone visiting Nashville.

Stopped here after arriving in Nashville and we were not disappointed. The service was top notch. The cashier told us about the different sauces and made some great recommendations. I had the chicken tender combo and my wife had the wing combo and everything was good. You can have them dip your chicken strips or wings in the sauce or you can get them naked and they will place the sauce on the side. There's inside and outside seating. It took about 15 minutes for our order but the food was hot and fresh and well worth the wait. You got to try it at least once.

Great. They have nice people working, chicken is good and the atmosphere is awesome.

Solid chicken in a college type bar. Not the best freis chicken I've had in Nashville but really good compared to fast food places.

The chicken is awesome although the fries are a bit greasy for my tastes. Main reason for the lower rating... The location is a bit crowded and definitely has a dirty appearance. I mean I know it is Belcourt, but you are serving food, renovate a bit?

Great chicken with awesome sauces. Was a bit cool inside so we sat outside. We could ve used better lighting but overall great food and experience.

Great as always. Please go back to calling it the Gold Salad.

The best fried chicken in town. (Not Nashville hot chicken.)

The chicken and fries were soggy like duck bread. Not crispy at all. The sweet tea said sweet, I got home and it was unsweet. A complete waste of money and time

Pro tips: 1) get the fingers tossed. It will change your life. Gold is my personal favorite. 2) get the large basket if you can bring stuff home, it will yield two meals for the price of one. 3) they offer grilled and fried fingers, both are good. 4) don't forget to get free ice cream at the end of your meal, just ask at the front counter.

The food is great every time I go - and I've been going for years. Portions are huge and prices are decent especially considering how much food you get. Service is quick and friendly. Love this place!

This is a fantastic hole in the wall find in midtown!!! One of our work lunch spots that is always on point!!! Love the atmosphere, outside and indoor eating and the staff are super friendly!!!

One of the homiest and heartiest meals in the city. For $10 you get enormous tenders, handcut fries, and a dollop of ice cream.

Super fast, friendly service in a very aged in place atmosphere. Chicken was breaded perfectly, and the wings were great. Fries were amazing...
Plenty of sauce to go around, but not 5star on Spicy meter , think Buffalo Wild Wings on the heat spectrum. No waiver needed.
Free ice cream at the end was priceless!

Great place for chicken. Had a nice lunch and talked politely with a visitor from Kentucky. Only drawback...rain and patio eating. Did ok and had an indoor seat but felt badly for lunchies.

The hot sauce is not that hot, but they have really good fries and chicken tenders. The atmosphere is nice too.

Best chicken tenders i have ever had. Seriously. Moist and tender with a fantastic seasoning blend. The only tenders ive had that come close are at Hattie B's but this won out for me because of the unbelievavle texture of the chicken. If you are even considering stopping by. DO IT! You wont regret it.

This is very small establishment and in need of a renovation. The walls were in kind of rough shape and there wasn't really a ceiling just wood. These things weren't really bothersome I'm just trying to give a good description of the place. We had a 30 minute wait, but it was worth it. The food here is great. They offer take-out or dine-in. They have a pretty sizable list of pizza flavors. I was very pleased to see that they offer a variety of local beers on tap.

Food was decent, the inside seat is on the lacking side, service was quick , wings were ok.

McDougal's has awesome chicken tenders (both grilled and fried), delicious fries, and a very tasty variety of dipping and tossing sauces for the chicken. On top of that, it has cool local character.

I live right around the corner from this place and have eaten there several times. I have had a good experience every time.

I ate here two weeks ago and now my body won't stop hatching chicken eggs. It feels weird being a human being and hatching eggs, but at least I get free eggs.

I stop by when I'm in town. By far my favorite hot chicken spot in Nashville!!! Always so yummy, great environment, polite and nice staff. Sometimes crowded beyond belief so choose your times and days correctly to come and avoid the crowd and traffic. Don't forget your free ice cream to cool off the hot! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Respectable chicken fingers: good local beer selection (for a place that serves primarily chicken fingers)

Going on 7 years of eating here 5 times a month(on average). As with any business there are off days when the fries are a little bland or undercooked or a new guy isn't bothering to wipe down tables, but this place is the best in town.

If you don't like it, you're ordering wrong. (Small basket, fried, 2 in Gold 1 in Buffalo, gold, honeybee, and tearjerker on the side).

We were expecting more from a hole-in-the-wall chicken shack. The selection of wing sauce was OK. The flavor of the traditional buffalo style was fairly standard, and the sweet (honey) had a strange taste I didn't care for. What I disliked most about the wings was that they were dry with no extra sauce for dipping. It would be nice if there were more sauce in the basket at least.

My favorite chicken tenders in Nashville. I prefer them fried, tossed in Honeybee, then dipped in ranch.

My only beef is that the wings come drenched in sauce. The Honey sauce was a really good flavor. They have some nice beers too, which complement the food well. The chicken fingers are HUGE. Go for those.

Greatest Chicken wings I have ever eaten. Right by Vanderbilt children s hospital. Service and atmosphere was top notch. Buffalo Wild Wings doesn t even come close!!!

The food was bland, literally had no seasoning.. not even salt. Definitely won t be back. The sauce was good though.

We enjoyed our first trip to McDougal's tonight. I ordered a chicken tender basket with the Citrus Chipotle and Buffalo dipping sauces. The Citrus Chipotle sauce was my favorite because it had a BBQ sauce base and the Buffalo Sauce was a close second. My wife had the MacDougal Sauce amd the Honeybee and after trying both of those as well I preferred my two choices.

The chicken was fried well and the French fries were thin and crispy and reminded me of French fries from Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The service was relatively quick after placing our order and they brought our chicken baskets to our table in about 10 minutes. We actually had planned to visit another chicken place close by tonight but they were closed on Sunday nights so McDougal's was a happy accident for our first visit.

Great Chicken, hot and fresh. Sauces were outstanding. Very casual environment, quick service. Fountain drinks ran out on us today, just bad timing. Definitely recommend though!

It was my first time here. I ordered the fried chicken finger sandwich with honey something on top and it was extremely good! The gentleman at the counter made a fantastic suggestion. It came with piping hot fries and a drink. Fast service, delicious food, friendly staff...I will definitely be back!

I went back again today! Great service, great food! They apparently have free ice cream, I didnt partake but others said it was delightful! Thumbs up!
