McCurdy's Restaurant on Moonlight Bay Review

absolutely the worst dining experience, service and food i think i have ever had....hard to describe how bad it was and how they stay open.........from the negative reviews it appears the owners will not fix the many problems, and any the few positive reviews have to come from someone who is blind, and I mean no disrespect. go anywhere, but only go here if you want a beer and to play corn hole.....heck, it is not even worth that.

We don't mind waiting...even when a "15-20 minute" wait turns into 45 minutes... then waiting 15 minutes for your drinks and an hour for your food...but when you wait that long and the food isn't edible, it makes you pretty frustrated. We aren't picky eaters, AT ALL, but this food was far from great. AVOID AVOID AVOID service was terrible and food was the same! we will pick McDonald's over this place ANY DAY!!!!!!!!

Last night, I had one of the worst seafood meals in my life and I am old. (53)
The stuffed flounder was a joke.
Flounder was nothing there but a few bites and the edge was hard.
The stuffing was a crab mixture with some dried weeds from a field somewhere out west.
Took several bites and left the rest on the plate. The waitress says good boy!!!
She had no clue what was left on my plate.
My wifes bowl of clam chowder was huge. There is a reason for that.
It tasted like split pea soup and not chowder.
Took forever to get a glass of water.
I seriously wanted to walk out after one bite was my wife did not want me to make a scene.
Of course 60 dollars later I feel like I got ripped off.
Do not eat here or if you do be prepared to get what you get.
Will not step back in this establishment if it was free.

Was told a 35 min wait for 6 after 45 mins halls of our group left. Then once we got seated beer was hot. Food was just ok. Service was slow and not that good. Got there art at 815 left at 1030. For three people to eat and each have a beer and one eating a cheese burger bill was 125 bucks. Much better places to eat around town. As we left all the cooks were outside smoking with there aprons on. Will never go back.

The view was ok but the food was great. The service was a little slow. We had a great time mostly because of our group not the restaurant.

Just returned from this restaurant with dinner with my family. Food and view were the only positives. The service was horrible. Took over an hour to bring our food. The waitress only came to the table three times and two of them were for our orders. Never filled up drinks and we had to find her and go to the desk to pay the bills. Then we were charged 18% gratuity for this horrible service!!!! We complained and they would not change it. DO NOT eat at this restaurant if you want good service.

Friendly atmosphere, great place to dine on the water..

Good food. It was nice to sit out on the deck, but the flies were kind of bad. I guess they can't control the outside

Fantastic food, it's too bad the service is horrible...it took 2+ hours to get our food plus we had to ask 3 different people for our check...waitress completely disappeared.

The free hush puppies were great. Sadly, the rest of the meal was average, even the mahi.

Awesome food, great service and atmosphere. Came for an early dinner with wife and kids and left just as the crowd was rolling in. Will definitely stop in on our next adventure to the Crystal Coast.

Where do I begin! From the start it was horrible! We get there and they said a 20 minute wait well we waited a hour the last 20 minutes of that hour we saw a table available outside, they cleaned it finally and sat us there. Then the waitress was horrible! Never got a tea refill, took her 20 minutes and 4 times of us asking tooke us a hour to get our food at this point there were two family's there. My salad was pitiful it was not worth 8$ defiently not fresh! Our waitress had a emergency and left the girl that picked our table up was also horrible! Can you say attitude!!!! Charged us 172$ we knew that was wrong took it back and it should of been 81! The manger wouldn't even come talk to us there for I'm spreading the word and never going back.

We were a party of 4 and each of us had different entrees-- one had ribs-- very good; fried oysters and scallops very good and the cottage fries different; fried oysters and garlic potatoes very good; stuffed flounder excellent but side rice dish with it was lacking. We also shared an appetizer of the crab dip with pita slices which was rich and delicous. 2 of us shared the peanut butter cheesecake while the other 2 shared the bourbon chocolate cake --both were to die for! The service was excellent and the assistant manager checked with us several times during the visit.

Went there for dinner our last nite on the isle. Was never there before and took a chance. Seemed pretty popular based on cars in the lot. Our group had a mix of entrees and all were very tasty and well prepared. Staff very friendly and helpful. Interior is a little dated so deducted one star. Would recommend to those in groups or looking for good food at a reasonable cost.

Great location for a restaurant but I am not usually on board with eating dinner here. It's okay to me but they always do draw a large crowd, especially in the summer months. I usually have a hard time deciding on a menu item and I'm usually never overly pleased with my meal.

Oh! My! Gosh! This is by far the best restaurant I've ever been to! Our waitress, Amy, was very delightful and gave us very useful information about the area. All of our enormous meals, and appetizer ran just a hair above $50. We had three of their signature, gourmet burgers and the Rib nachos. Each burger was about 1.5 inches thick and the appetizer was a full sized meal. When we come back to this area to live I will be eating here regularly. This is a must eat to believe dining experience! So stop on by when coming through.

The food was pretty good as we're the portions. My biggest gripe would be the service. Took a long time to get seated and to get our drinks and food. I even overheard an employee who was baffled why they got called in on their day off because "they were swamped". It was not busy at all.

One of the best restaurants in Atlantic Beach, food is always great for cheaper prices than most other restaurants in town. Laid back quiet atmosphere makes eating upon the bay an enjoyable experience.

Great food, fantastic service. Crab dip and calamari were excellent.
