Small airport. Racist staff, just one but the impact was enough to almost ruin the end of my trip
Small airport. Racist staff, just one but the impact was enough to almost ruin the end of my trip
Didn't have any luggage to check but i had an easy day.
Wow your staff have 0 customer service skills, are inpolite and have no manners either. Unhelpful rude and are frankly in the wrong field. Dirty looks, no please and thank you, insults and many more. Its a shame because the Island is beautiful and i have had no problem with any of the people. I travel frequently to Jamaica but your Airport staff need to fix up.
Pretty easy to navigate & everyone there is so helpful
Came for a brief visit and I must say Kudos to the entire JA government for the hospitality and ensuring that all person(s) were accounted for and accepting accountability in keeping the Covid #'s at bay #1love
Clean and got alot of police officers to protect you covid safety tips and sanitizers all over
Very good this airport, wonderful reception, nice people.
Undoubtedly one of the best Airports in the Caribbean !! My main option when flying to Jamaica !
There is no parking for pregnant women. The security company they have contracted is very bad, does not have the slightest customer service.
The airport has gone through some renovations that have helped it especially the overhead PA system.
I have never experienced such unfriendly ground personnel. From the Jamaican friendliness, nil. Everyone, everyone seems to be in a bad mood and seems to be reluctant to work here. I'm glad to be away soon.
Do not rent a car with Budget in Montego Bay airport, they will give you the car but if you are american they will find a way to keep your $500 deposit, they are absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful after you return the car, all smiles at first but that is who the rip off customers, be very careful, use bus or go for another company but never BUDGET
The services quality need improvement. The staff are often rude. To the extent where an office search your bags it's very uncomfortable Bear in mind we wouldn't have reach our destination if we had harmful weapons and/or substances.
4 checks to get through cistoms.
Disorganised.
Queues every where to gain entry to Jamaica.
For an economy that is soleley relient on tourism, their airport tsa and security should do a lot better. They absolutely stink, Mon, you all should be ashamed on yourself. That is not a way to treat tourists with infants.
Inspite of it's small appearance the space is well laid out and utilized, some areas needs to work on though where maintenance is concerned. Arriving to the gates...I love how you just walk into the concession area without even being fully aware of it.
The airport staff was very welcoming and courteous.
The gates area is pretty boring, as the wall space is just screaming for beautiful posters.
On the 4th of May I returned to Jamaica and based on the above portion of the review I expected to be wowed entring the airport from this side. Especially since most tourist are welcomed here. Upon leaving the aircraft, my hopes hit rock bottom. The tunnel was low, poorly lit, colourless and felt like walking through prison or underground tunnels. The tunnel was rather long especially since there was nothing attractive to capture your attention along the way. The nearest restroom was a long walk away and at the opposite end of the customs area, which I thought was very poor. So I would advise you to use the restroom provided inside the aircraft before leaving. Upon arriving to the customs area, you are created with images to display the countries culture and attractions, but its a little too late as the damage had already been done. The customs area was also poorly illuminated, I'm now not sure if was the airport's natural design. This side of the airport was clean and the custom officers were pleasant.
With that said I would recommend that an overhall be done on this airport. So after falling in love with SouthWest Airlines I now have to say goodbye to them, as I will never be returning to this airport until it properly reflects Jamaica and Montego Bay.
The worst airport does Tui really want these people to be the last thing we remember about my great holiday suit case opend after i checked it in and two phones stolen and perfume stolen god knows what else the big thing is the phones can t work over there and it can t be opened. How disgusting that you can t go to jamaica to visit family and attend my father in laws funeral without been robbed of my personal possessions. SAD. Had to post one start to be able to leave my review it doesn t even deserve that. Poor Poor Service.
Great experience. No any problem or issues at all. Thx you to all the airport workers.
Border Control at arrival took more than an hour, sanitary infrastructure is in bad condition, sometimes damaged and not really clean. Also, having to pass the gates barefoot adds up to the experience. Accustomed to touristic airports I wasn't expecting much, but there are things that shouldn't happen.
The arrivals part is outdated and in poor condition. The perfect outings.
This is the 2nd if the 2 airports in Jamaica located in MONTEGO BAY!!!
It has all you would need in an international airport with a lot of clear signs and friendly staff. I have personally passed through that airport 2 times and my experiences were both regular.
Depending on the time of day and day of week, it can be super crowded with long lines so be sure to reach early unless you are ok with spending another day or 2 in Mobay!
They have really made some great updates to their airport. And finally they have air-conditioning! Both coming and going I had a smooth experience. And the Airlines worker who checked my bag allowed me to pass with it weighing 52 pounds and not unchanging for my bag. Back home in MN they would not waive that fee. I was very happy and pleased!
Customs entering the country was surprisingly fast. Check in for departure was very slow and lines were long. Most airlines have you in two lines: one to print boarding passes then a second to drop bags. Security went much faster. Staff is friendly but not in much of a hurry.
Traveled from MBJ Airport for the first time, I found it vastly different from that of KIN Airport. The decor featured a lot of great things about Jamaica which was very refreshing. The staff was very pleasant too. It just needs a little more modernization to take it up a notch.
It was chill except for all the ramps. Even with cov 19 screening. Pretty small airport but everything was labeled so you knew where you were going.
nice little airport but there are nearly any shops or restaurants so eat something before you fly!
all my flights were perfect on time never had to wait too long
there are always security checks on the airport against smugglers! But the dogs they have are cute af
i can recommend this airport to everybody!
Airport Workers here are not really friendly. They only want your money.
Very relaxing and convenient, lots of shops and restaurants.
Be prepared to wait! Covid 19 slows everything down and you must quarantine at your residence.
Small, the atention It's slow. The shops close early.
Small airport and they're forgot to turn the A/C on, Customs officials ask a lot more questions than they should. Soon as they let you in the first currency exchange place will have the worst exchange rates on the island. In other words you'll get ripped off if you decided to get some Jamaican Dollars at the airport. USD is still accepted almost everywhere ,there is really no need to get their Monopoly money
TERRIBLE. The line for the bag drop was RIDICULOUSLY long, and took about 1 hr 20 min to get through.
Salon VIP MoBAY the best. Don't forget to buy Blue Mountain coffee.
Been here 2-3 times, family reasons + tourism. Nice location, of Jamaica.
Surprised at the speed of check in and the Mobay club is awesome
Rational and functional, perhaps a little small at peak times
was not great the customs are too rude the want to search your bags ev
Ticket agents for AMERICAN AIRLINES ARE RUDE !!!!! I will never use this airport!!!
This place brings a feeling of excitement, knowing all that Jamaica has to offer. Friendly people, delicious food, beaches. Good Vibes!
It's a beautiful place but it's very small and you will run into issues with staff among others pains. Try to avoid peak times and maybe, maybe your experience will be better. Also, mark your bags. They will get "lost" easily
Sometimes crowded...But that's how it is when you have loads of visitors
Not a bad airport, lots of places to shop and eat and drink, even a place to smoke.
Do not buy jewelry there however, I did and paid quite a bit for earrings that fell apart within days.
Items were stolen from my luggage too but that is the airline, not the airport.
Very basic and small.
Still this airport requires its air passengers to arrive at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled flight. You need to have exact amount of cash for the departure tax at the check in(35 USD per person).
After the security check as you go through the shopping and food area, unless it states 'duty free', be prepared to pay tax on top of the marked price.
Not only the airport but pretty much all the tourist related places seemed to be geared for mainly American and Canadian visitors.
This airport is terrible. Our flight was delayed, we weren't told until we asked when we were boarding. After getting delayed twice, our flight was canceled until the following day. Again- we were not told, we found out through email notifications from American Airlines. When asking for help and what we were to do after being canceled, the workers were all extremely rude. They acted as if we were bothering them. Upon returning the next day for our flight, we had to wait in long lines where two people were working and 5 were standing around talking instead of opening up another line. We purchased alcohol and left it at customs the day before. We went to get it the next day and it was a whole adventure. It was almost as if they wanted us to just get fed up and forget about it. NOTHING here is done quick at all. They work harder, not smarter and it really is a pain for travelers.
A good airport, not too big, 18 gates and over 100 check in desks. It can get busy but they're quite good at getting people through.
The air conditioning is sporadic so you will get hot in there, but there are a fair number of shops, bars and restaurants as well as two duty free shops so there's plenty to do.
Just got back from Jamaica and looking in my suitcase to notice everything was moved around and zippers opened. At the very top (which was packed in the middle of my bag) was my Dior sunglasses case with the cleaning cloth partially hanging and no sunglasses to be seen. I got them 2 days prior to my vacation, so it s a huge blow to have $400 glasses get stolen. I have never experienced theft at an airport but these people don t care. They will rip someone off for a buck! I have contacted the airline to file a claim and hope for a resolution. Beware of traveling here as I also had a bracelet removed from my wrist at the Flea market, but got it back because I realized quickly it was missing and confronted the woman. She played dumb but gave it back.
I genuinely dislike traveling to this airport . The female check in representatives are the worst . Extremely unprofessional!!
All the people that work here that I've met were so rude and unpleasant! I've never gone to an airport with such bad service and customer relations. Plus the things they sell are like 4 times the actual price. I hope I don't have to come through this airport again. Really not happy. Especially since I'm just starting to fly on my own. They weren't helpful at all.
This is a small international airport, with car park and bus station. Just only one way to get in and out, you can t miss out :) The workers are friendly and really easy the passport controll with the new self service automated passport controll machines
Love it, Great system lines move fast and everybody is attentive and polite
Arrived early everything was smooth and fast. Removed one star for cleaning lady in mens washroom asking for tips...
Been just a horrific experience, lack of service, was told if you get the most pass there was a smoking room and food, no smoking room and just small snack not worth the money spent, after finding out there was no smoking room like previously stated was not allowed to leave to smoke. If we knew the truth of what was actually going on would have waited to go through security and least waste time outside instead of caged in this airport
Very sad as staff at this airport don't know how to treat someone with a disability and the airport does not have the correct proper disabled ffacilities such a toilet. You can't access toilet in a wheelchair and it's a disabled toilet.
Dirty and expensive. Lots of employees standing around talking but no one is working. Bathrooms were disgusting. Get ready to fork over $15 (yes USD) for a mediocre cheeseburger and cold fries.
Expensive water and food, but decent food option and quality is good for jamaican standards. coffee is cheap but overall good and clean for jamaica. i love the comfortable seats in the waiting area.
One of the worst airports I've seen in the last few years. Malmesso and old, few restaurants and all of junk food dirty and old bathrooms with staff (licensed?) Asking for a tip out of the bathroom. The connection is free and discreet for this the two stars.
There were no places to seat. No WiFi access available.
Hot, dirty, old, not enough seats, not nearly enough plugs.... needs an update badly.
EVERYONE!!! Take all sunglasses, watches, jewelry, anything expensive in your carry on! 2 expensive pairs of sunglasses and 2 expensive watches stolen from our luggage from this airport. Very violating and disappointing.
Nice little airport. Mobay lounge service is worth every penny
The worst conditions I have ever seen. I will not be flying to Montego bay again.
Coming in from Miami, customs/international line moved at an alright speed (traveled to Japan, China, and Taiwan prior..slower than all 3). And they let swindlers, 'global exchange' set up shop and take money from travelers. DO NOT EXCHANGE MONEY WITH THEM!! In all other countries I've been to, you exchange money at the airport to the host nation's currency, and the exchange offers a competitive/accurate rate. This exchange lied that Jamaica only accepts Jamaican dollars and gave a terrible rate, ended up losing over $50 USD in the exchange
All ok on arrival. Super fast entry. Suitcase came very fast! Departure early in the morning is absolutely relaxed.
Airport no air conditioning as we arrived mega traffic jam at pass handling.
And at departure also at the TUI counter.
But Jamaica has been a dream vacation.
Happy to resist
Dirty, crowded, and cramped. Why do they clutter the airport with random junk to sell when flights queue up wall-to-wall due to lack of space?
