friendly airport everyone is nice and willing to help
rude staff that dont know their job need more training
Very good customer services .First world airport. Free wifi is fabulous. Stores and restaurants are very nice. Fast and excellent processing. One of the best airports on this side of the world.
Very small airport no where to get lost. The staff were very polite and helpful. Rented a car from Classique Car Rentals we had no issues whatsoever. One love Jamaica
What is wrong with all the workers?? They are so rude, snappy and seem to be in the worst mood possible at all times... I felt like slapping one lady who was checking the passports before entering into the area where they check your carry on baggage. She was yelling "NEXTTTT" so rudely even though the people next in line were obviously sorting out another issue with someone else. So my husaband and I walked up and passed them thinking this would shut her big fat mouth, and instead she shakes her head at us and literally throws my passport back at me? I felt like saying, LISTEN LADY WE ARE TOURIST YOU SHOULD BE TREATING US MUCH BETTER AS WE ARE A HUGE REASON YOU HAVE A JOB AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE ON YOUR ISLAND HAVE A JOB !!!!!!
Everything went smoothly at this airport. Clearly marked and the attendants were very helpful and friendly. Took way less time than the US airports we passed through. Good food spots to eat before our flight and restroom was cleaned regularly. Be careful with the bus rentals that you don't get hustled!
This is one of the best airport I have ever been to, when I landed at the airport an get off the plane and enter in to the airport the staff they give you a waam welcome. The airport has grown over the years and I like everything about this airport especially Free WiFi.
They have gone overboard with passport checks. I guess it's designed to screen covid cases, but nonetheless, it's too much.
Pretty easy to navigate & everyone there is so helpful. Our family stayed at the Villanari, use clasaique Car hire service. We had a good time in jamaica, an expeeience to last a life time.Respect Mon.
Busy for an international airport, I guess I'm just accustom to U.S.
Getting through customs was easy. The workers could be nicer to arriving guest.
Rude staff. Went through security of course only to have my bag searched randomly again just before boarding the 11 hour flight to Gatwick Airport that has been delayed for over 45 minutes of course.
Amazing place to visit. Envious of those who call this place home
I found the arrival acceptable and with an air conditioning that works. The staff in general was smiling and kind.
Clean take time to get through international travel
They didn't find work there ... everything takes forever
We arrived just after lunch time on a Sunday in February. The line was pretty long to get through customs. Fortunately the driver we had picking us up managed to have us come through a shorter line behind only 3 people so we breezed through. Unfortunately when departing here my pregnant wife was randomly selected for closer inspection. Good part was it was only a swab of her hands to check for drugs so it didn't take long and we were on our way. The airport is practically in Montego Bay so we were only minutes from the resort. Beautiful takeoff and landing with the airport right beside the Caribbean sea.
I've traveled thru this airport a dozen times over the last decade, and while things look better on the surface, I was on the receiving end of some truly terrible service from airport authorities today. Flagrant contradictory information, spouted with dictatorial disregard for sense or pragmatism, left me very disappointed with my experience. If only there was another airport option - I would use another from here on!
Was the first flight out since COVid and the experience was terrible. We stood outside in the hot sun until they felt like letting us in. The Airport was clean tho.
Under renovation. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Bathroom noticable well kept. Bathroom change from previous area.
There was absolutely no security line whatsoever, which was surprisng for summertime during the day at that. Very clean with lots of shops. Friendly and professional staff
An unmitigated disaster. Departure was the worst conditions I have ever encountered. Was traveling with my 2 year old daughter and after an hour of waiting in the security line we were approached by someone who asked to look at my passport. At this time my daughter was in the middle of a breakdown and he said something to me but, I couldn't hear him as my daughter was screaming in my ear, and then walked off with my passport. I waited for what seemed like forever, as the rest of the line moved by me, since I was trying to keep an eye out for the guy that walked off with my passport. He eventually returned and took me to a different line which still took forever to get through and my daughter still screaming and other passengers cussing us out. Finally get through the metal detector and they tell us to wait by some chairs. After about another 10 minutes wait they pull me into a side room and pat me down and scrub my hands and go through all my bags, meanwhile my daughter is still screaming for a drink, as of course no drinks are allowed in security. Finally, I get my passport back and at this point we are in danger of missing the flight. We rush to get to the gate and just make it...only to get pulled to the side again at the gate. Another screening, same as before... pat down, scrub hands go through the same bags they already looked at. Causes us to be the last one on the plane, no overhead storage space left. Just a complete nightmare. I will never again visit Jamaica due to this airport experience. Absolutely no compassion for an exhausted dad with a screaming toddler. Nightmare is an understatement.
Always Love the friendly Jamacia welcome!!!! Easy to come into and fly out of !
The people are very friendly, the controls are strict (even dogs sniff the luggage das) that's probably because you get offered in Jamaica on every corner drugs and some tourists take the stuff home :-)
Unfortunately our flight was 2 hours late and it was already late in the evening. All shops in the airport building were already closed and so the wait was endless ..........
The only bright spot: there was Wi-Fi
Excellent airport! Service is top notch, services were plenty and atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. Compared to Pearson Airport in Toronto, Canada these guys should be used as the example of how keeping it simple and using people instead of computers is the only way to have the best overal experience.
Thank you for the wonderful hospitality Sangster Intl Air!
Pleasant experience. Very professional and pleasant workers.
This airport is unwelcoming . Check in staff are rude bordering on being racist . Seating areas, even VIP lounge needs a good makeover.
The customer service in this place is sickening. If you are born jamaican and travel they treat you as if you're a criminal. My exact experience, I had my luggage which I paid to check and it was 5lb over weight, so I transferred items quickly. I accidentally placed a 200ml rum in my carry on got through security and was told I need to go check my carry on, drink it, or give to a family member. I asked if it was okay to go back through so I could give the item to my brother since he was standing there (afterall this was an option I was given) the one of the workers at this airport then started to SHOUT at me in the local dialect, because she heard my accent. I said to her " you dont need to speak to me like that" she was very unprofessional and ill tempered. In short I have been back to my country (Jamaica) for the 3rd time now and everytime I am in the airport at Mobay or Kingston I notice they treat their own as if we are criminals.
Clearly that lady was not happy with the fact I said anything to her after she addressed me the way she did. I will provide a update if any of my items from my checked bag go missing or if any other issues come up while still here locally.
If your flying into Jamaica to visit, make sure to fly into Montego Bay. Its on the North Coast, which is very beautiful. Its the best place to start your journey.
Amazingly it works really well in a third world country love it man big up this app
The checking in staff rude and abrupt, arguing with my friend and I, instead of listening to what we tried to explain..been her 8 times, sorry wont be stepping foot in this Airport again..would be nice if they smiled and welcomed you to the Island..customer skill NIL, Attitude STINKS
Small but organized and easy to move through immigration.
One of thee most unprofessional airports I have ever been to the workers have no customer service skills whatsoever. Really sloooooow and rude especially the short girl with the scar on her neck at check in this needs to be rectified ASAP
Make sure to pay for the fast lane.Zipped through a got to waiting area for pass customers,a bar tvs n coffee, snacks included while u wait.A have to upgrade u wont regret!
If it's busy, I recommend getting the Club Mobay pass. That skips you to the front of the Security line & gets you into the Club with Food, bar, drinks & WiFi. We have Priority Pass for access.
Love Jamaica and their airport. The handling of tourists with covid has been seamless. I'm glad to be back!
The departure baggage area is a mess, dark and confusing with huge line ups.
As soon as you get off the plane they offer you no commission currency conversion. That s awesome until you realize they totally screw you on the conversion rate. You would think an international public airport would use a rate close to what the world wide going rate was that credit card companies, etc use. No they kept $25 of my $100 during my commission free currency exchange. Pitiful for them and shame on me for not checking the conversion rate before traveling. I just didnt expect to get screwed before I set foot outside the airport.
Good service first time I went I was treated really good
We breezed in and out of this airport with no issues. There are a number of places to eat-even a Starbucks, and plenty of shops and bathrooms. We had someone assist us with a wheelchair and were taken care of well. We stayed at Beaches and the their reception at the airport was completely chaotic. The rest of the airport was fine.
It is one of Jamaica's top airports and has a good support of ppl travelling to New York n back.
The immigration lines were moving and I had a lot of time left to do a lot of things
A small airport with guaranteed waiting time where possible. Here you meet right after leaving the plane on the Jamaican serenity ;-) annoying are really only the totally undressed tourists, who despite the holiday never goes too fast ;-)
Airports temperature is moderate. They have no place for people to smoke and the people spoke to my partner and I with disrespect and they weren t listening to what we were trying to say. The smoking lounge is getting renovated yes but then put something else in where Poole can smoke! Not happy!
it pretty modern and welcoming love the new renovations
This airport is top notch and always a smooth arrival and departure.
Nice Airport ! Slow security. Nice Shops ! Smokers lounge. Delicious coffee ! Always take a look at your belongings !
Are crickets smart wires inside the Sangster International Airport it is a bar it is a bar all the amenities of a bar we see tennis shoes we see displayed we see badges that is displayed we see balls that is displayed and they make a mean mixed drink that will knock your pants off this is Jamaica
I would travel there every year for 40 days for 8 yrs to see my husband. I usually took the late flight from LA so I would arrive in mobay about 6am. Had no problem showing my passport with customs. They seemed very pleasant and was greeted as well to Jamaica, but having to get my luggage which consisted of 2 50lb bags, 1 40lb carry on and my computer bag I used as a purse was something else. Having to lift all that on a cart was hard. Thinking I was done and it was smooth sailing and was time to get greeted by my husband......NOPE !! Ppl with more luggage than me would get to keep going to leave the building but not me. EVERYTIME for 8 yrs I would be asked to go to secondary to go thru my luggage. This ment 1 by 1 I had to lift my luggage up on a table, open it up while the person would destroy my packing them try to put back quickly and zip up to lift that one down and pick up another. After about the 2 yr of this BS I had brought a few cloths for my husband and stuff for my house. I was asked why I had them. So pissed I said it's called survival items I need while on this god for saken island. Finally after being harassed and able to leave I'd wheel my cart as far as I was allowed to the door. If you didn't pay someone to take out your luggage you couldn't use the cart. I would take 1piece of luggage at a time and slide then to my husband out the door. These ppl at the airport inspecting your luggage are soooooo rude. I must say it was 99% of the time the women. Visiting Jamaica was nice, but if it wasn't because I went to see my husband I would never go back. The words GOD BLESS AMERICA I will never take for granted again.
I have to say to be fair I met alot of ppl there in the 8yrs of going. They were nice and took care of me while my husband would be at work. At the stores most ppl were very friendly. It was a experience I will never forget. Will I ever go again......probably but that's because I have ppl there I care about otherwise noooooooope.
Very friendly clerks and locals , small and easy airport. Lots of taxis outside but also the car rentals are really close! Can't wait to land there again.
A really nice, clean and organized airport facility with last minute shops, snacks, and restaurants. Great airport!
NO SMOKING LOUNGE!
Be sure to smoke before going through security. They will not let you leave once through security.
They have made some nice major improvements to the airport. They follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines.
I checked in online and did not encounter any delay or inconvenience barring persons who were late for their flights and had to be moved to the front of the line. Passengers need to pay attention to stipulated check-in times. Need more shops and food courts. Workers were polite and friendly. Compared to Norman Manley, MBJ is first class.
Would rate zero if it was possible. Very rude, resentful female staff. Non existent customer service skills and nasty attitude. Horrendous experience.
This airport is different from the one in Kingston. I like the setup and the comfortable waiting area for arrivals.
The bathrooms are very clean, service at restaurants are mediocre, and the airport is very big and has a large variety of stores to choose from.
I was delighted the first time I came back home to see how welcoming the staff was. It was a much better experience compared to JFK AND FLL
Lots of room and stores. Needs to be modernized with charging stations and more technology.
With the pandemic, processes are changing, plexiglass is already installed at the check in counters and only travellers can enter, counters are sanitized actively at check inThe borders are still closed but a few outgoing repatriation flights are underway, the processes I imagine will be perfected in short order
