Although it was nice to have many choices for food, the blatant price gouging is tasteless.
Good airport. Everything was nice...The airport has good conditions. Enough shops to buy food, soft drinks... Great customer service...
WHAT A RIP OFF! KEEP YOUR US DOLLARS! YOU CAN USE THEM OTHERWISE THEY WILL ROB YOU ON THE BUY AND SELL RATE BY MORE THAN 30%! THEIR TSA AGENTS WREAK AND SUPER DISRESPECTFUL!
Custom officers are very disrespectful and unorganized. The females are the worset, poor communication skills. Superiors are no better, very unprofessional.
Lovely Airport. Helpful staff. Clean and well maintained.
its good but some more work needed to be done to let it be more faster
Rude, arrogant staff! What more is there to say! So expensive too.
Great airport, not very big, which makes the lines at customs and immigration to be not very long. Speedy everything.
There are no seating areas in the ticketing area. The TSA workers in our line were lazy (the conveyer belt was jammed and one lazy woman snapped at a passanger to fix it) I asked for the TSA worker to change her gloves before patting me down, the gloves she had on were latex and visible dirty. She refused. I refused to have her touch me. I asked for a supervisor and she didnt get anyone but did change her gloves (still latex from the writing on the box but at least clean) Yes I'll go back to Jamaica but not through this airport. Customer service should always be a priority.
We tarveled from Montego Bay to BWI on November 21, 2017, Fligh #907 Southwest airlines, departure time 1:50 pm. We had two bags checked in.
After arriving at BWI we took our luggage and went home. When we arrived we started unpacking. I opened one of my suitcases and saw my belongings being all in dissarray. My toiletries bag was unzipped and contents were dumped out inside the suitcase, make up and hair care bags were also unzipped. Everything looked like someone went through my belongings searching for something. I understand the security check and all, and apreciate the diligence, but what I saw was completely unacceptable and rendered me speechless and furious. Someone probably went through my stuff searching for something valuable, thanks God there was nothing there. Also there was no note left saying that my suitcase was opened and searched.
This is completely unprofessional behavior and practices.
1. Extremely rude Immigration and Customs officers
2. Bathrooms under any acceptable standard
3. Lots of dishonest food/drink shops, crazy change rates and no receipts
4. Every employee seems glad to be rude to foreigners, but a man can walk into the ladies' bathroom with NO SECURITY intervening.
5. EXTREMELY THIN WALLS IN BATHROOMS & HOLES IN SAID WALLS, LOCKS EASY TO SMASH.
This airport does not care about the last impression the visitors take home !

Small airport and expect a long wait when arriving at peak times. The customs hall is small and hot especially when overcrowded. If you are arriving at a peak time I would suggest Club Mobay (see how many flights arrive before yours) as they have a dedicated customs officer. We likely saved 2 hrs with this. On the way out Club Mobay is less useful as they are faster through security. Airport staff not the friendliest.
Caribbean airlines easy checkin, security typical and uneventful. Free wifi a plus
Saniter stations everywhere, and requests to sanitize what felt like every 6 minutes or 10'. Easy transfer through security, helpful staff.
Arrivals
No complaints. Our plane was delayed from the UK so when we arrived at Mobay it was at a some what quiter period (if there is one here) and we were pushed through pretty quickly.
Strangely though when we got through to the baggage claim our bags had already been taken off the conveyor belt and were randomly dotted around the area. We were pre warned about the airport staff (the men in red t-shirts) with trolleys who ask (more like hound) you to transport your bags outside to meet the people picking you up. When we told them we didn't need help they then had the cheek to tell us to then move aside as we're blocking the way lol. Really! No I think you'll find your blocking the way! If you do use them then just be prepared to tip them for their efforts.
Sadly for several reasons we didn't change currency ahead of time and ended up changing a few pounds to see us through until the next day at the airports extortionate currency exchanger.....$128JD to the pound. What a joke, we managed to get $152 the next day so we definately lost out on a fair amount...Never again.
The free wifi was a bonus.
Departure
Took such a looong time to check in. Due to only one member of senior staff who takes payments for baggage. So we had to wait until she finished with another passenger to then come and deal with us. The $30 departure tax really irked me as it could only be paid in cash, not credit card. So I had to use the airport atm which charges you to take your own money out. Any way when we finally went through security (if you can call it that) I was suprised to see the variety of shops ect available. However we literally only had time to run through and board the plane but we did stop to buy a bottle of rum. When we enquired about the price as it wasn't tagged the staff just seemed to glare at each other and not really answer the question. They weren't really trying to sell us the item and werent bothered whether we brought anything or not so we just left it.
I did find it strange that we were allowed to board the plane with our food we purchased from Island Grill without any one blinking an eye but they would randomly pull people aside as they boarded the plane to check the items that they had just purchased in duty free!! Surely these items are secured and sealed so what are they checking for?? Weird!
Overall not a bad experience either way just a few niggles.
The employees at this airport are absolutely terrible. Everyone treats travelers like trash and they have no knowledge of their jobs.
Airport staff are well equipped during this covid 19 pandemic well trained and professional
Pretty quick service here. Everything is always in order and easy to get from one place to another. I've travelled to and from here about 6 times and haven't had an issue waiting in lines. Great airport and service!
Airport experience was pretty fast through customs. They stopped me because I took a picture right before I went through customs and the security agent asked me to delete it since she was in the picture. Wandered around while waiting for our ride and most of it was a nice airport with lots of stores and okay restaurants.
This is my main airport to travel through when leaving Jamaica. I m usually shown alotta respect and the vibe is just right .
We arrived on an 8pm flight and took about an hour to get through customs even though there weren't many of us.
Coming home was great. We got here at about 4 and took us about minutes to go through security.
There is free WiFi and duty free shops here.
The I have never encountered this level of inefficiency
Quite a large selection of international chain fast food eateries and shopping options at the Duty Free and stores like Harley Davidson. Would recommend purchasing the Club Mobay services if your flight arrives or departs during peak hours as the service helps you by pass all the lines quickly and efficiently. Surprisingly very clean and well maintained restrooms. No smoking lounge available at this airport while the existing one at Gate 9 departures lounge is being renovated.
Love the duty free shop.
I wish they sold gunja . .lol
Small airport, kinda rundown like everything else around here but who cares? We landed here, went through Customs relatively easy, spent maybe 35-40 minutes in the building. Staff could've been nicer but it wasn't a big deal
Few options in terms of food. Service lacklustre. Felt clean tho.
