First time there. The doctors and assistants were awesome! Had a broken tooth and needed it pulled. They made it so easy. Booked me same day!

Stupid place they treat you badly and dont care if they hurt you. How is my TOUNG bleeding with scratches.

Have been going to South Boston Family Dental for 3 years now and absolutely love it! The whole staff, team, hygienists and doctors are so friendly and nice! They do an incredible job clean my teeth and really take their time! The technology is great and every time I go in there is a new and advance piece of technology, it s great! The my teeth have never been better, highly recommend!

Haven't been to a dentist in many years, was very nervous about the appointment. Everyone there made me feel relaxed and the appointment went as scheduled. Love that they have Saturday appointments.

Wish I could give 0 stars. They scheduled me for a cleaning less than 6 months before I was due for one and waited until I came in for my appointment this morning to cheerfully let me know that I am not due for a cleaning. I don t live anywhere near this place and took the morning out of work to get here during the busy holidays and they said they were too busy to look at the schedule a day in advance to give me a call. Terrible - we are all busy but it s not an excuse.

I moved to Boston 2 years ago and needed a new dentist. I tried a place on Newbury Street & had the worst experience. I was hesitant to try somewhere that wasn t recommended by someone, but after reading reviews online I decided to give South Boston Family Dental a chance, and I m so glad I did! Everyone is so awesome, helpful, and make going to the dentist not that bad. I even recently got my boyfriend to go there too! We are both super happy, and will continue to come here.

My family and I have been coming here for almost 20 years. Dr. Liu is not only a great doctor but also a great person. He was pretty much a one man show and found an amazing team. I've seen many other doctors come and go but Dr. Anya was the best addition to the office. They are a great team and really care for their patients on a personal level and not just as a client. Dr.Anya and Dr. Liu make a great team and it is amazing watching them grow and build an amazing office with an amazing staff. Very thankful for them and highly recommend.

Dr. Liu is very nice, he doesn't recommend any unnecessary procedures and all his referrals are also good doctors. So far my experience has been very good and that s why I ve been going there for more than three years now. I ve recommended his office to anyone who asks for a dentist in the South Boston area. The price is also affordable with my insurance, which doesn t cover much.

I highly recommend South Boston Family Dental!! I had my first visit today, I called first thing in the morning for an emergency visit and they got me in the same day. The second you walk though the door everyone is so pleasant and makes you feel so comfortable!!

Staff is always super friendly, thorough and helpful

Just started going there after the pandemic shut down. The Place is really nice, especially the workers. I haven't met anyone yet who wasn't pleasant.

Do not go to this dentist. I had a root canal as well as a crown done at this place, both were terrible. The root canal was sloppy, I was experiencing a lot of pain even after a month, and it turned out that the doctor did not clean everything out from the roots and it got infected. So I had to go to another place to re-do the root canal, costing me extra. And then I had a crown done on the same tooth as the root canal, and the crown had a gap between my teeth, causing food to be stuck in there all the time. So I had to re-do the crown as well, at my own expense, because this dental office will not pick up the phone or answer the call from my insurance company. The doctors here are NOT GOOD, I would not recommend anyone to go here for any dental work.

I saw Dr.Keck for my regular cleaning and I really liked that she explained everything she did and she was super nice. I will definitely come back for all my dental needs until I leave the country and move back to Switzerland!

I went in for a cleaning in the Fall last year since it was closer to my new job and liked them so much that I switched over all my dental work to this practice! I've since then gotten a deep cleaning, some minor dental work, and now scheduled to get my invisalign here as well. Dr. Anya and her team are great about walking me through each procedure step by step, very responsive with explaining and resolving any billing issues, and checking in regularly post-treatment. Highly recommend!

Booking an appointment at South Boston Family Dental is a seamless process through a web application. I was able navigate the Dr.'s available times & secure an appointment for the next day... Convenient.

My hygenist, Christine, was incredibly friendly & knowledgeable. Candidly, someone staring down at you for the purpose of cleaning "the nasty" out of your mouth is awkward... her personality mitigated much of the awkwardness.

Anya was my Dr... she was to the point and professional when explaining the procedures and next steps in treatment.

SBFD is my go-to, if you're looking for a good Dental practice, this is the place...

I wrote a 2 start review before because the poor front desk service. After I posted for 20 mins. the owner replied my review immediately, explain the scenario (the front desk turns out to be a temporary person) and help me made the reservation immediately. I really appreciate their friendly and nice attitude, so I went on a Friday for cleaning and x ray. The hygienist is extremely nice, explained the detail reasoning for each step. I enjoyed the talk with her a lot. I am glad the owner reached out to me and let me enjoyed their service. I do think they deserve a 5 stars service rating!

I don t typically engage in reviews or yelp, quite frankly because I m never motivated enough with an experience to actually go and perform the act of writing something-it reminds me of homework. However, based on my overall satisfaction with my experience at South Boston Family dental and the overriding widespread social anxiety that people have with going to the dentist, I felt compelled to pay tribute to my dental experience. Leading up to booking an appointment with dentist, I was riddled with fear as it had been four years since my last formal cleaning or dental interaction. I think fear of the unknown eats away at you and you almost would rather just not know how bad your dental health has gotten. Secondly, the fact that dental insurance is not a mandatory benefit for health insurance coverage creates this false conception that dental hygiene must not be as important as other health related endeavors; dental hygiene almost gets framed as merely a cosmetic issue. Still, I think deep down, we all know that going to the dentist is absolutely critical to our overall health and that avoidance of the dentist only contributes to what can end up being an exponentially worse problem. In other words, the longer we avoid the dentist, the higher our risk is for serious health concerns and very invasive dental work.

After finally mustering up the courage to book an appointment, I kept talking to friends and building upon my anxiety as people would report back horror stories they had or implicitly shame me by saying they get a cleaning every 6 months. I walked into South Boston Family dental as a grown man, but inside I felt like a toddler going to school for the first time away from the comfort of his mom and family. Nevertheless, I was immediately greeted by several young ladies who were extremely polite and inviting and greeted me by name. I joked back and forth with one of the hygienists, Sarah, so the short waiting time for my appointment virtually vanished. We all know what it s like to walk into any service industry and be treated like a number. Furthermore, the office is conveniently located in South Boston, completely walking distance from really anywhere in Southie and the overall aesthetic of the facility was not clinical-instead it was homey and warm.

My dental hygienist, Sarah, couldn t have been more down to earth and was so easy to talk to that I quickly forgot that I was even getting the full gamut of x-rays and cavity inspections. The hygienist was gentle, efficient, and so polite that whole time always asking if I needed a break. After the cleaning, the dentist came in and was also very personable, in which we bantered about Southie politics and new restaurants before he did his final inspection. I really did forget that I was at a dentist s office for most of the time I was at South Boston Family Dental. It sounds crazy, but I actually look forward to going back for my cleaning in some ways because I loved the social aspect of my experience. It might sound trite, but I can see why this organization is called South Boston Family Dental-it truly is a place that treats their patients as friends rather than impersonal clients.

The office is bright and airy and super clean. Very efficient operation. Modern. Dr. Chen was pretty awesome. Nice guy. Knew his stuff.
Addition(a week or so later:) I had a follow up with another awesome dentist(periodontist) and had some major work done. It went so well, I am amazed. He just called to check up on me. They have a great team working there. Very patient oriented.

We could not have had a more lovely experience at South Boston family dental! The toys and therapy dogs put my one-year-old at ease for her first check up, as did the super friendly staff and accommodating family environment. They had her watch me get my teeth cleaned and provided toys and distractions so when it was her turn, she was unphased by her first check up. The pediatric dentist was lovely, gentle, and nonjudgmental, as were the adult dentists. We did not encounter a single sullen or unfriendly employee! So glad to have such an approachable practice in the neighborhood.

I have been going to this dentist for years and am always pleased with their service. I usually have seen dr. Liu who has always been great about fitting me in last minute and addressing any concerns I have but I also recently just was seen by Dr. Keck who is new to the practice. She is very friendly and easy to talk to; most definitely a great addition to the team they have there. I have had cleanings fillings and even a gum graft here and have always been impressed with this business, would recommend to anyone!

Had done one of my crowns here. Were really happy and satisfied with doctor and the whole process. This summer also had done lowering gum procedure. The surgeon was really nice and called me later in the day to follow up with me how I feel. Really nice and friendly staff!!

I ve also never had to wait for long periods of time, and they are always quick and efficient from cleanings to fillings. I also love that they offer weekend appointments, so I don t have to take time off from work. Gracie greeting you in the waiting room is also a major perk!

What a wonderful experience! Let me tell you why... First off, like everyone who lives in Boston knows, you should take into account traffic when commuting. Unfortunately I did not, and I was a bit late to my appointment, however the dentists still welcomed warmly. The environment was clean and felt sanitary. It was comforting seeing everyone wear a mask and knowing all patients had to get their temp taken before their appointment. Alex at the front desk was very helpful and informative when I had questions about my insurance, my appointment, and future scheduling. Dr. Anya worked on my cavities and and I felt very comfortable being her patient. I have had dentists in the past who do not wait long enough for the Novacaine to fully numb my mouth before starting, Dr. Anya however asked me before beginning if my mouth was fully numb to assure my comfort. It was done quickly and was painless. The only thing I wish I could have changed would be to give more pets to Gracie the office dog! Thanks SBFD!

Everyone here is so nice! The staff is always super thoughtful and doesn't try to rush patients through. I've been going here for a few years now and am never disappointed. I just got a mouth guard from them for teeth grinding and the staff was super patient and really wanted to make sure it fit right before sending me on my way. 10/10 recommend

Can t recommend South Boston Family Dental highly enough! I was overdue to find a new dentist after a move and even with the ongoing pandemic the office was able to fit me in for a new patient appointment right away. Everyone in the office was extremely welcoming and their Covid precautions made the visit feel safe.

My last dentist never made me feel like they knew me, even overlooking things in my chart, but from the minute I walked in the door Dr. Rosen took the time to get to know me and my dental history in a way that felt much more personal than the typical interactions I ve had with dentists in the past. She was fully invested in my appointment and eager to help me follow along with what she was doing so I would feel more empowered to make decisions. Throughout my visit she thoughtfully explained what she was doing, what she was looking at, what she would recommend, and why. By the end of my visit I felt like I knew so much more about my teeth and had a solid plan with Dr. Rosen on next steps.

Today was my first and last time coming here. Before coming here I looked at the reviews which are very good which made me decide to come here. The parking situation is terrible but that s normal because it is south Boston :) ... The front desk lady was helpful and nice, however, she waited until a few minutes before my scheduled appointment to tell me my insurance did not cover dental ( which is news to me ). The dental assistant seemed as if he did not want to be there he barely told me anything or talked and I was sitting in the chair for about 2 minutes until the actual dentist came out and introduced himself. The dentist was extremely helpful and nice. However, I did not know this place doesn t take MassHealth which should of been discussed between the email chain. Everything seemed fine when I sent over my insurance info even though I felt a bit weird because I felt as if they were pressuring me to take out my wisdom teeth even though they did not even see it. Also, I was told if my wisdom teeth are impacted and coming out they would take out my teeth, however, that was a lie because the doctor told me they do not do that there which was news to my ears as well. There is a lot of information that doesn t get explained more in depth. I literally wasted a day of just getting a x-ray when I could of been at work. Only giving it 1 star because the front desk lady and dentist was nice. Everything else was horrible.

Had a great experience. They do a really good job at following up and making sure that everything is set prior to your visit. Office space was clean and the people were very nice. Didn t wait long before I was being attended. Between the clean-up, x-rays, and doctor consultation, I was in and out in 45 minutes.

I ve been coming here for over a year and I m very satisfied with the service. Staff is courteous and professional. Doctors are very knowledgeable and take great care in making sure all the patient s needs are met and all the questions are answered.

Be aware that they don't check everyone's dental benefits. They told me one estimate and I got a surprise bill of an EXTRA $800. They told me most people usually know their own dental benefits and coverage. And the office manager Kim lied and told me she could not give me a Copy of my own dental benefits when blue cross blue shield told me the office could. She said it was written on the eob that it couldn't leave the office but it's not. My husband had a similar past experience with his dental office but they had written off part of the balance as a courtesy. South Boston Family Dental wasn't willing to do anything for me. Needless to say I will not be going back.

As a new patient, checking in was quick and easy. The wait wasn't even 5mins. The x-rays were different than what I'm used to but it was manageable. The hygienist Christine didn't use the pick very much, thank God. The cleaning was pretty quick, and (heads-up) she has marshmallow polish for after. It caught me off guard but it's kinda nice because it's different. Smells great, tastes great. The dr., Anya, was very friendly and easy to talk to. I go back for a deep cleaning, but that's on me. Great clinic to go to, especially in the S. Boston area.

Hands down the best dentist I have gone to! Dr. Keck is knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I did my Invisalign treatment here along with regular check ups and whitening. I will also say it s refreshing an office has so many high tech appliances and keeps up to date if not more than a standard dentist office. Can t say enough of how much I enjoy coming here!

I visited the office for the first time today as a new patient fairly nervous and anxious because I hadn t been to a dentist recently after a negative experience somewhere else. The entire staff could not have been nicer and more welcoming, especially Molly. She was so kind and constantly checking in to make sure I was doing okay and if I had any questions. I really appreciated the empathy and not feeling like I was being lectured or scolded. I highly recommend coming here if you are in search of an accommodating dental office.
