Never been here for food, but definitely fun place for a night out! Generally $10 cover charge on a Friday or Saturday night so prepare for that!

The food is great. Order take out or try an get a seat if the weather is nice.

We were there for the Friday night club. It was fantastic! Great variety of music!

We drove here from east bay for wednesday oyster and wings special we saw on Google search. Their hours say they open at 5 yet they were not open until 8. Once we finally do get inside they tell us that the kitchen is closed. I feel there should be a clear communication between business and customers for the hours of operation and specials to avoid wasted time making a trip there in vain and leaving hungry.

I see a number of posts claiming thefts. Popularity breeds opportunism. Stopped here on a whim. Met a new philosophical friend. And a few actual via the staff. I will return, no question!

If you like sweet drink you will love this! See Tiffany and she will hook you up. Fun, energized and she knows what's doing. 5 star for sure!

Live down the street so when they charge a $10 cover and walk right passed. But has a ok dance floor long islands are strong. Seems like my wife and I will pick up a 3rd here soon enough for the night.

Went there to enjoy my Friday night w friends, was jumped by bunch of people and all my stuff was stolen. I have stitches on my head and my face. Do not go to this place, it is organized crime. It happened other girls same night as well. You can read it from other people s as well, it s been happening for awhile

Night club review: Long lines outside, crappy outdated rap music to dance to inside. (Blurry music videos on projectors included!)

Friendly staff, cheap oysters ... good place for large oyster plates... though you might find better quality elsewhere ... for twice the price

I m not even joking my phone was stolen last night at this place all the bars next to this place they know you ll get robbed if you go there. Athorty should look in to it please. This a trap place.

Great DJ for dancing. I've never eaten at Mayes, but I've been dancing on a Friday night and really enjoyed myself. The music was great and it wasn't too crowded. No cover at the time either and short wait time.

STOLEN PHONES! DO NOT GO HERE! full blown organized crime! 3 of us got their phone stolen from within their purse. whoever is thatking Peoplethis here knows what they are doing and they do it very well, been to plenty of similar clubs in other cities and never had an experience like this. The people we suspected from came out of the bar from other doors other then the front door and they are great friends with the owner of the place which was one of the bar tenders (as we were told by staff and we spoke to him about the stolen phones) nothing was done/could be done.

This place gets REALLY hot on a busy night. The dancing is ok and you get drinks relatively quickly. I wouldn't say this is the best place in San Francisco, but it for sure isn't the worst. If you're into the casual club scene it's a fun time.

Definitely a place to go when you are in the mood to let loose and have a fun time. It's a crowded nightclub vibe, perfect way to start a night out. Just remember to stay safe and drink responsibly :)

So I can't speak to the food here, but the nightlife is great! We were here on a Saturday night, right before 10pm. That gets you in the doors without having to pay cover. After 10pm, cover is only $10, so it's really not that bad. The bathrooms are clean and the music was good. There are two bars - one up front in the mingle/bar tables area, and one in the back in the corner of the dance floor. The dance floor is a good size but it gets packed later on in the night. So if you're not into a squish-fest, you've got to plan your timing just right.

Pretty nice dancing space at night. It s not a major nightclub, but that s kind of what I like about it.

I recently went to Mayes on a Saturday night. The music was great, the crowd was fun, and great service behind the bar. If you are looking for a cool spot to go to with your friends, be sure to check this place out.

I have only been to Mayes to dance, but it is a really great place to dance! They play really good music and the dance floor is really large. They play the music videos on the tvs that are on the dance floor as well. They have nice clean bathrooms and lines are never too bad. It is such a fun place!

This is a review of the club not the restaurant. My friends and I went to Mayes last night, stood in line, got our IDs checked but had no cash when we got to the front of the line. So one of our friends went inside to pull out cash for everyone s cover. When he went to the atm, the rest of us stood to the side to wait. As we re waiting, one of the bouncers came up to our group and said that me and my other friend didn t get our IDs checked. However, we did! But he continued to accuse us, so me and my friend went back to the same bouncer who checked our IDs to have him recheck them . The ID-checking bouncer admitted to me and my friend to having checked our IDs already but where was his voice when the other bouncer was accusing us? Anyways, we went back to the group to wait for our friend who was pulling out cash. At this point, I decided to record a video of this bouncer who was clearly having a power trip. He saw me record and then had the audacity to tell my friend (who got back and paid for our cover) that everyone else can go in but me because I recorded a video. You ve got to be kidding me. I went in, regardless. I understand that being a bouncer is hard because you re dealing with a lot of unreasonable drunk people, but that gives you no right to run around pointing fingers and making accusations with not merit. And for the record, it s my legal right to record a video in public especially if I feel as though I was being mistreated. Hire better bouncers, management at Mayes.

I haven't tried the food but I love to party there.

Very accommodating and extremely considerate of the world's currents circumstances. Everyone NEEDS to go here and enjoy a night of safety, libations and superb snacks. Will definitely be a staple for me.

I've been to this bar on two occasions. The first time was on a Friday night, the other time was yesterday during the US v Portugal game.

First off it was a ten buck cover for at best a subpar "lounge." I'm new to the city so I paid the cover cause I was thinking how bad could it be?

BOILING HOT. CRAMPED. EHHHH CROWD.

Nowhere to put your coat and no coat check. A DJ was mixing that night but the music was OKAY some of the mixes just didn't make sense to me. It took at least 20 minutes to get a drink. The drinks were OKAY, the bartender made the wrong drink for me the first time. The crowd was really odd. Grabby guys (despite being there with my boyfriend), wasted girls, and so much SWEAT. Its horribly hot in there to the point that some thugs in the corner had their tanks over their shoulders. It was an okay place I guess but I honestly could not get over how hot it was and the crowd was creeping me out.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I came across Mayes in the day light and didn't even recognize the place. It's a nice spacious venue to have a drink with a lot of TVs. The problem was that the staff didn't know how to use the remote. They have hundreds of people in their bar to watch the World Cup and they don't even have the channel on ESPN! Another TV was off throughout the entire game. The staff were so flustered running around like chickens withe their heads cut off. It is as if they did not know the game was on. That could have been forgiven but then when our bill came it had an extra $40 tacked on to it in liquor charges. When I told the bartender we only had bottled beer he tells me those are just the prices not necessarily that we had liquor. Then he runs off and starts printing out tickets then turns to us and yells "56?" Um what? Anyway we squared away the bill (still tipped them 20%!) and left.

I won't be coming back.

Agree with other comments about theft! Be very careful if you go, my phone was stolen out of my cross body purse along with a phone from my friends back pocket. Be aware of your belongings when you go looks like it has happened to a lot of people!!!!!

Super good atmosphere, it is very crowded and you have to dance tight but the place is very fun.
