Beautiful museum where you can optimally enjoy the app of the Mauritshuis. Through the texts you read in the app or the audio that you can listen to in many works, you will spend a little longer on the beautiful paintings.

Beautiful museum created in the home of the legendary Mauritius of Nassau in The Hague. Super well taken care of, very professional in the administration, beautiful works of art. It was worth the trip back and forth to get to know the city and the House of Mauritius in Nassau.

One of best museums I have ever visited. The collection is amazing and fascinating. There were not enough hearing devices that gives you info about paintings, also internet connection was low. But except those, the experience was beautiful.

Great museum, as very manageable and in a picturesque setting. Beautiful exhibits and homelike atmosphere with creaking floorboards, sometimes small rooms and windows with lake view.
Absolutely go in!

A 15-minute walk from The Hague Station, this is one of the best museums in the Netherlands next to the Binnenhof parliament building.
The ticket office is underground. 14.
I want to go with the opening if possible. First, let's go to room 15 on the second floor.
There is Vermeer s
"Girl with pearl earrings"
"View of Delft"
"Nymphs"
Can be thoroughly enjoyed as it is in one hall. At the center of the small room is a circular sofa, where you can sit on the sofa and watch these masterpieces.
Rembrandt s in another room
There are also "Drup's Anatomy Lecture" and self-portraits, so you can relax.
Finally, fill your stomach with a warm fitchine while watching an art book in Brasserie.
I can be satisfied.

Beautiful colonial house with a brilliant collection of Dutch masters. It's not too big so you are not overwhelmed. It gives a good idea of the scope of 17th century Dutch painters. The restaurant/cafe is extraordinarily good value.

Mauriz Hawis: This is an art museum around the Hope Bayber Pond where water birds fly. It is now used as a royal art museum, but it has a collection of masterpieces by Rembrandt and Fermeier. An anatomical lecture and self-portrait of a girl with a pearl earring from Fermeir, Delft scenery, and Dr. Nicholas Guelph of Rembrandt.

Also visit with children (ages 7-11) very nice (free <18 yrs). The search cards with do assignments, signs, stickers, music and feel are good to do and also fun for the parents. The audio tour for the oldest children (11) gives them a lot of space, to search for the 'room' where it is hanging and then they get information about the painting. Beautiful building too, which makes the collection coincide with the total experience. Recommended.

Wonderful museum with an impressive collection. The building itself is worth the visit. You can find famous painters represented here, like Vermeer (Girl with a Pearl Earring), Rembrandt (Anatomy Lesson) or Rubens. The surrounding area is worth some time to explore as well

About Mauritshuis

Mauritshuis: A Haven for Dutch Masterpieces

Mauritshuis is a renowned art museum located in the heart of The Hague, Netherlands. It is home to some of the finest Dutch paintings from the Golden Age, including works by Rembrandt and Vermeer. The museum's collection comprises over 800 paintings and artworks that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Netherlands.

The Mauritshuis was originally built in 1633 as a residence for John Maurice, Prince of Nassau-Siegen. Later on, it was converted into an art museum in 1822 by King William I of the Netherlands. Since then, it has been a popular destination for art lovers from all over the world.

One of the most famous paintings housed at Mauritshuis is "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Johannes Vermeer. This painting has become an icon not only for Dutch art but also for global culture as well. It depicts a young woman wearing an exotic turban and gazing directly at viewers with her enigmatic eyes.

Apart from "Girl with a Pearl Earring," Mauritshuis also boasts eleven other masterpieces by Rembrandt van Rijn, including his famous self-portrait painted in 1669 when he was already fifty-three years old. Other notable works include "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp," which depicts an anatomy lesson being conducted on a cadaver; and "The Goldfinch" or "Het puttertje," which portrays a chained bird perched on its feeder.

Visitors to Mauritshuis can expect to be transported back in time to experience firsthand what life was like during Holland's Golden Age (17th century). The museum's interior design reflects this period perfectly with its ornate ceilings, chandeliers, and grand staircases that lead visitors through galleries filled with stunning artwork.

In addition to its permanent collection, Mauritshuis also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year that showcase different aspects of Dutch culture and history. These exhibitions are curated carefully to provide visitors with unique insights into various themes such as fashion trends or social issues prevalent during different periods.

Mauritshuis offers guided tours led by knowledgeable guides who provide detailed information about each artwork displayed at the museum. Visitors can also opt for audio guides available in multiple languages if they prefer exploring independently.

In conclusion, if you're looking for an unforgettable cultural experience while visiting The Hague or simply want to immerse yourself in some world-class artistry - look no further than Mauritshuis! With its impressive collection of Dutch masterpieces spanning centuries past combined with modern amenities like interactive exhibits and multimedia displays - there truly is something here for everyone!
