The museum has a "man" dimension with paintings of great interest and is visited by kindergarten children accompanied by teachers who sit on the floor in a circle listening to "the fable" through an audio transmitter hidden by a plush toy that explains the various paintings
Small collection, great masterpieces. In this museum you will find world-famous paintings such as Anatomy Lessons from Doctor Tulp by Rembrandt and The Girl with a Pearl Earring by Vermeer. The striking thing is the possibility of enjoying and enjoying the works of art, being able to approach the works to observe them and grasp all the details. Personally I was struck by Rembrandt's work the Song of Simeon. Being able to appreciate it up close gives an idea of the greatness of the work, the strength of the play of light and color. Definitely worth a visit. We wish we also had the same respect for art in Italy.
The collection is small and the device is not very creative. Out of time
Worth the time. I particularly like the fact that the app had audio so you could guide yourself all the way
A magnificent museum with works from the golden period. Johannes Vermeer, Rembrand and many others. It is in a beautiful setting
Beautiful museum, well organized. Fantastic vermeer
What a fantastic experience to be able to walk around there. Really enjoy!
This is one of the most beautiful museum of the Hague. If you want to see paintings bij Vermeer you have to go here.
Don't forget to have a walk around the parliament when you are done and have a drink on one of the nearby cafe's
Besides the girl with the pearl, a beautiful collection of paintings
First rate collection in a wonderful gallery. Expect it to be busy.
The museum is worth a visit, but the price is quite high for what it offers
museum lover, this is a must see museum in den haag. for student, bring your student card to get discount
Art of the finest Rembrandt and other great painters
Nice museum, nice historic place. A nice cozy brasserie
Very nice paintings housed in a beautiful building. Worth the visit as the pieces are interesting.
Fun, intimate art gallery showcasing fun art in a history building!
Fantastic museum with also videos and multimedia files
old masters about old feudals. You can see what the dictators of the past looked like. There are also nice paintings.
Beautiful collection and incredibly friendly staff!
Museum with mostly old and classical paintings from the golden age, royal house and political rulers of the past.
Famous works and beautiful building, but technically not really busy in high season!
I knew in this museum was the famous painting of the girl with the pearl and entered just for that. Instead i spent a looooot of time watching everything else as well! The collection is excellent and rich for art history lovers, in a luxury palace situated on the center of den haag!
Amazing place. Finally saw the girl with the pearl. Lots of other famous paintings too. You cannot skip this.
Small treasure chest of absolute masterpieces. Unmissable. Guide on app for 3.50.
A must do and must see but I think something to say. It was quite worth it but there are other nice museums in the area that are much less busy
You have to go see the masterpieces that are exhibited there.
Wonderful building with an impressive collection of paintings. Unfortunately, everyone seems to have a quick selfie with famous paintings. The way through the exhibition is very well marked by simple numbering. Definitely worth a visit!
Is not that big but there are beautiful paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer, with the girl with the pearl earring as the topper
Absolutely amazing, a relatively small collection of the best Dutch works in paintings. Not too crowded and perfect size for an afternoon visit.
A very wide and beautiful collection of art in a beautiful location in a beautiful building. Awesome expierence.
The Mauritshuis is definitely worth a visit when you are in The Hague. Unfortunately, the service is very short. I bought one ticket too many and was promised that I would get my money back, which still failed after two weeks ..
It is a nice museums and the audio guide is clear and full of information. It was a nice experience for me.
Great, worth the visit! Beautiful paintings by Rembrandt, by Vermeer, and many others ...
Beautiful museum. Not to be missed and not only because of Vermeer.
One must certainly have been here once to see the old masters and enjoy them. Highly recommended.
The Museum of the Boy with the Turban ... But also a lot of Vermeer and Rembrandt. To be seen.
Lovely museum that we have visited several times. It is a must see this museum.
A beautiful (small/medium sized) museum with great paintings.
One of the most elegant and beautifully curated museums in Europe. Beautiful, crowds managed well, marvelous collection, excellent cafe and gift shop. Don't miss contemporary ceiling justaposed against such conventional but beautiful decor.
It is simply exquisite. A beautiful gallery. No one should forget it. A jewel
A very large collection of Rembrandt, Rubens, Hals, Vermeer.
I loved the museum. The entry is made with a scheduled appointment through the Internet. Check-in was very fast, museum staff friendly. It has an audio guide that is accessed from the website and is available (I recommend wearing headphones). To enter each room, you must take care of the number of people allowed by the Covid issue, which avoids crowds. The collection of works is beautiful !!
Beautiful building and enjoy the art of the old master's.
Always inspiring to see our Golden Age in painting.
Two beautiful exhibitions on the subject of their own collection of Rembrandt paintings and the life of namesake Johan Maurits. The first exhibition was pretty busy, but definitely worth it. Here clearly booklet with descriptions of the paintings.
Wonderful collection. The museum is relatively small and allows for in-depth observation. Excellent rotating exhibitions
We made a day trip to Den Haag from Amsterdam recently and spent a couple hours viewing the outstanding Netherlandish masterpieces at the Mauritshuis ( 15.50). Opening hours are 1pm to 6pm (Monday) and 10am to 6pm (Tues to Sun) with extended hours to 8pm on Thursday evenings.
This is a small museum yet what you find is one of the finest collections of early Netherlandish and Golden Age artworks in the world. You'll be able to enjoy masterpieces by the likes of Old Masters Van Der Wyden, Rubens, Holbein II, Rembrandt and Vermeer, whose most famous masterpiece, 'Girl with Pearl necklace' is housed here at Mauritshuis
The collection is found within 7-8 gallery rooms on two floors of a beautiful historic building, perfectly suited for the collection of works on permanent display. During our recent visit, there was a special Rembrandt exhibition that was rewarding to view during the visit.
We also very much like the Brasserie Mauritshuis cafe as well. This is a nice place for cake and coffee or tea after a couple hours of viewing art. Do try the Hazelnut Cream cake from Maison Kelder her in Den Haag. This is unique and delicious and something you'll only find here The Hague.
It is worth coming here just to see Vermeer's two paintings. And there are many Rembrandts. A compact and fulfilling museum. I'm impressed!
It's a small house museum, but they are actively acquiring work by artists consistent with the original collection. The lighting is not optimal for viewing the work and many paintings are hung to high to view. But let's face it, you want to see Vermeer's "Girl were a Pearl Earing". So pay your 15.50 and go.
MUST DOWNLOAD THE APP, learnt soooo much with the app and the artworks
Personally think that it is better than the Dutch National Museum
Beautiful encounters with The Girl with the Pearl, the cheerful Jan Steen, the craftsman Frans Hals and the master Rembrandt.
And seen a beautiful collection of officer paintings, back together for the first time since the 18th century.
Now temporarily on display an exhibition about Jan Steen with works that you will not expect from him, but with a humorous touch.
Go see it while it is still possible.
Impressive lobby space and location next to the parliament. Once into the main galleries they are a bit dark and corridor like but it's an impressive art collection.
