Beautiful spot, so-so food. We've been here multiple times since it's opening and nothing has jumped out at us as fantastic. There are too many restaurants in proximity that offer over-the-top menu items so it's hard to keep coming back.

Fantastic burger and fun live music! Salad was delish! Nice beer selection. I like that they use local farms and bakeries! Service woes: The hostess could use training... she ignored us while talking to co workers. Waitress was annoyed that I ordered water instead of alcohol, she only returned to bring food.
The place is clean and the staff are friendly. Service is a little slow but the semi formal feal makes up for it. Food looks great with an acceptable amount of drink choice.
This was my first visit I usually go to LTH but wanted to give this place a try. I had family visiting and brought them for dinner. Man the philly cheese egg rolls blew my mind, followed up by their tacos which were real tasty. There was 5 of us and everyone really enjoyed the selection of food and drinks and Dylan was on point with the service. Great experience this will be one of my new local spots
Drinks and food were great! The truffel fries are next level and I would go back just for the fries. Staff were attentive and the place was just warm and welcoming.
I had an honest mistake made with my plate. I informed the staff and they were immediately taking care of it. The amazing respect and customer service makes this place a 5 star restaurant to me. The manager Nicole, approached me, even though I didnt ask for her, to ask if there was anything that could be done, and I informed her that her amazing staff has already taken care of me. However, her presence, the tender care of the staff here speaks volumes about how amazing this place is. I can't say thank you enough to the prestigious staff of Masters.
Get the tacos. I mean, they are so good. Staffs okay... used to be a group of chill dudes. Last time I went had a weird experience with the bartender. He had no sense of bar communication skills and was awkward af. But those tacos. Happy hour is great and worth it.
Otherwise, it s the typical overpriced Oceanside restaurant with bar. They have music sometimes and great/fun cocktails. Not a beer place.
I've been here twice and the cocktails and food are simply top notch! I've traveled a lot of places and been to a lot of quality eateries and I am so happy to have this one nearby. The bartenders know how to serve a superb drink and pour a traditional Zombie (most of you have not had a traditional one) and other tiki bar delights. My boyfriend asked for a concoction with rye, which I am not a fan of, and I could have happily sipped on it myself all night- or for the hour. The food is also surprising, in a great way. The menu can't seem to describe just how good the food really is and I've been overjoyed at the flavors and creativeness they employ. The other night we ordered some new "sweet bun" chicken hot plate. It was actually a version of a manapua (Hawaiian sweet roll that is steamed-not baked!) that was flat and folded like a taco. Inside was chicken, cheese, sauce and cilantro. Doesn't sound like much but it was, and if anyone knows what a manapua is you'd be thoroughly impressed. The manager and staff were great hosts and made us feel like old friends. Great service on top of all this makes it a favorite of mine.
Thoroughly enjoy eating at Masters, the ownership and staff are really top notch and the food created by the chefs Ben and Darrell is both awesome and creative. I believe that anyone venturing to Masters, would be thoroughly satified and return again and again. I especially like to go there on Tuesday's because they run a chefs special, which consists of the chefs special creation for the day and a draft beer for just $18.00.
Great food, location and atmosphere. Unfortunately I will not return for a simple reason: $8 is the standard for a beer! That is a line I will not cross.
It s a nice place but they don t have any lite beer and If you order food to go they aren t allowed give any plastic utensils to eat with so be prepared to eat with your fingers. Also the first night I got a salad to go and it was good after I asked the hotel for a fork, the second night it was very very skimpy salad for the price. Ok for beer I wouldn t recommend take away or food.. I was also told food was just ok by others but had to try at least a salad
Delicious food, awesome drinks, great service. Thank you James our waiter!! Fruit plate super fresh. I m glad my first choice was closed and had to pick a new place.
Had time to spare, Just stopped in while waiting. ... Nice place, good food, and I love the true "Coctails" and "Bartender" experience. Jeff and Serra were our barteders, Jeff was all around GREAT! And Serra is an excellent bartender! We highly recommend "Masters". An asset to Oceanside.
I would give 3.5 stars if an option, drinks were excellent but food was just average, ie steak was not a good cut but prepared well and mahi mahi was excellent but accompanying risotto was bland
Small menu but good food. Went there during the Patriots - Chargers game. Plenty of tables open and TVs to watch. Service was good and meal didn't take that long. I ordered the Masters Burger which was delicious and it comes with a nice side of Parmesan Fries. My buddy ordered the Fish Tacos, and was disappointed in the price to the size, as all you get is 3 small tacos and nothing more.
Enjoyed dinner one evening here - it was very busy (I guess it always is?). Waited a bit for a table. Our server was friendly and efficient even though she was very busy. Food all around was very good (with the exception of the seafood pot - disappointing), and many many beers on tap. A loud, energetic fun local establishment.
The happy hour menu is legit. We were on a couple day dining and drinking spree for our anniversary and the grilled cheese and soup was phenomenal! I mean phenomenal. Waitress cute as a button which always makes for a good experience as well.
Food was just ok and it was pricey. The black bean burger was mushy and taste like you would get from morning star. My husband's fish tacos were 16 but was tiny and I get the whole pandemic thing and have limited menu but they had two fish options and no chicken nor steak. Was very disappointed.
Ate at Masters on 12/10/2016 and I had the best burger I've had in a decade! Nice sear on the outside perfect medium on the inside. The sauce was amazing with onions, tomato and lettuce on the heel of the bun and cheese on the top patty. Amazing burger!
I was a stranger to the town exploring Oceanside for my first time and found myself drawn into Masters. Sat myself at the bar and got a warm friendly welcome from the staff. The food and drinks were great paired with a laidback atmosphere. Very happy with my experience and encourage anybody to grab a drink or food at this A+ establishment.
We love to go out. Last night we came to this delicious restaurant which friends recommended to us. We passed a delightful evening there with superb dishes and an experienced crew and an impressive chef. We put this place in our list and we shall definitely come back very soon. We warmly recommend.
Food was over priced, and over cooked. Service wasn't great. Drinks are way over priced. I had a $28 pork chop that was dry and cooked about 10 minutes too long. My friend had a $21 burger ordered MidRare and came out well done, zero pink. The other person had the $25 Catch of the day which was delicious and very well cooked. Waiter never came to check on us or ask if we would like another beer, or refill our empty waters. Probably still wondering why he recieved only a $4 tip on a $150 meal.
Good drinks and great food! The burger was fantastic and the chickpea waffles were fun and interesting! I don't know what another local guide was saying about portions, they seemed just fine to me!
Their vegan pulled jack fruit sandwich was so amazing I inhaled it! I also had the Perisian cocktail and "vegan oysters" aka passion fruit. The staff was so kind! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and the chef. Great atmosphere too. It's a good place to go hang with friends.
Had a grilled tuna sandwich, and it was very good. Prices in line with similar style restaurants. Service was solid and attentive. Presentation of food and specialty cocktails was well done.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Went to lunch to Masters while visiting Oceanside - and WOW their Masters burger with the truffle fries with the ranch was so so delicious. Our server Dylan, was pleasant, very knowledgeable of the menu and he was also very prompt with his service. His recommendation of the food and dessert was excellent. The place is open and very green. Their herb planters were beautiful. A wonderful experience indeed. I am definitely going back.
Always enjoy coming to Masters. Staff is very friendly & the food is wonderful. Live music playing gives it a great ambiance. One of my favorite spots in Oceanside.
Super tasty food, and friendly, patient, and courteous wait staff. Order the sweet potato tart with salted caramel ice cream... holy crap, it was orgasmic.
What a special gem to have in the community -- it's delicious and cool, but most of all, it's staffed by the most helpful, courteous and wonderful team. During the Covid-19 closure, owner Ryan and his staff have gone above and beyond to serve the community, being extra-responsive and engaged -- they even helped me surprise my dad with birthday treats. Do NOT miss the mai tais, cheese board, burgers and poke.
Beautiful and big place. It nicely decorated. We sat at the bar. Food was really good! Monday's- happy hour all day long. $6 selected cocktails and $5 drafts plus some bar food. We got some mussels, burger, ribs, and oysters. Mussels tasted like a Italian dish, put some pasta in the broth and you got some good mussels pasta. Ribs tasted like crunchy candy. It was a crunchy sweet on top, so good. The burger is probably the best on the block. The patty and fresh veggies with the smokey cheese! The oysters were delicious except the shucker was inexperienced so watch out for shells in there! Hard to bite on it'll crush your teeth and or cut your throat. We got a piece of shell in every oyster. Another guest warned us.
Great place. Best ambiance on Coast Highway. BUT, menu needs updating. LTH has better food (which I'm sure Masters has heard someone say before). But ambiance of Masters can't be beat - I'd rather eat there than LTH's parking lot (or any parking lot for that matter). Staff @ Masters are also super nice and friendly. Honestly, if they could just update the menu a little, they'd be back to five stars. Love you guys!
Great food. Slow service. But we both had amazing entrees. The cheese platter took a long time to come out but it was absolutely beautiful. A work of art. Good wine and beer selections. The atmosphere is delightful.
Good atmosphere and delicious food. The Moscow Mule and margarita were not up to our standards. The luau dacqueri was tasty. The server was slow, but we were there for a leisurely dinner so we didn't mind.
Everbody here seems to enjoy their job. Sweet deal on mimosas. Will definitely be here on the reg. Highly recommended. Oh, and the interior is beautiful.
