Went here for my birthday for the first time, and though this is not a fine dining restaurant, it is still pricer than many places around and, quite frankly, once you eat here you'll know why. If you want to have a casual yet impressive dining atmosphere and more sophisticated menu options, this is a great place for you. Expect to spend around $100 for a dinner for two if you want to include a drink each. Their drink menu is as fun to consume as it is to read. You'll want to ask your server any questions possible to help you decide, and don't worry about taking risks on this menu because everything seems to be per-fect-ion.
Also, this is a seasonal menu, and that means if you find a favorite, don't be sad if you cannot get it year round...just be grateful you had it while it lasted.

We had airline chicken with beet risotto, and steak with broccolini with potatoes. For drinks, a Zombie and the Prickly Pear. Appetizer was a cheese steak eggroll with house spicy ketchup (not too spicy).

I couldn't contain my surprise and joy from the tenderness and flavor of the chicken and the savory and PINK risotto, which matched my drink beautifully. It was a VERY happy birthday for me.

We enjoyed our afternoon here. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and arrived 20 min before they switched to their afternoon/evening menu (they have a brunch/lunch menu that doesn't offer everything they make). The waitress was really nice and offered to put our order for a few evening menu items early, so they would come out as soon as they switched the menu. The food was delicious, and the couple specialty drinks we tried were great as well.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the options! My shortrib tacos had great flavor, but the meat was a little dry. Someone had the pork tacos the they were very good. I would definitely like to try it here again.

Nice, new & lovely restaurant! I had some really unique carnitas tacos, and they were so tasty! I will be going back again! There was a live guitarist to entertain that night, and great customer service. Very trendy & very nice!

This place is awesome... best happy hour in the whole county. Awesome two ounce pours on real cocktails; not sissified diluted fruit juice with a splash of alcohol. . . so prevalent in the bars right now. Plus real food including awesome kale salad, not junk. Bartenders are very nice.

I used to work here almost a year ago until the very first coronavirus restaurant closures, and the place has changed a bit. This is a review of a dining experience, not my time working here.

Masters certainly lost quite a bit of the pizzazz in their dishes, lacking the continuous innovation / rotating menu in the kitchen that made this place so appealing at first. The cocktails are still good; we ordered 2 each and were satisfied with them.

The service is still good, no complaints there.

I used to give this place five stars, but the coronavirus is probably a huge factor when it comes to creating new dishes. I really hope they pick themselves up by their bootstraps and focus on what initially made them a stellar dining destination, especially for Oceanside.

When it comes right down to it, diners go to restaurants for the food and come with the expectation of good service. Both are necessary for repeat business.

Food was amazing. The beverage director was fantastic and basically designed a pairing for myself and my husband even though we ordered off the price fix menu rather than the tasting menu. Our server was very knowledgeable and always on point. The service was a bit slow to start, but they did have a few large groups in at the time. Overall it was a great experience and an awesome birthday! Thank you!

Wow! This place is fantastic! Two guys playing classic rock on their guitars on the patio was enticing enough for us to try this place. So glad I did. BF and I sat at the bar and were entertained by the bar tenders lighting glasses on fire for the signature Mai Tai's. We ordered poke and the sea bass which was accompanied with broccoli rabe and risotto. Delicious to both! I had a lavender spritzer cocktail which was refreshing. Definitely will be back if in the area again.

The food was good and decor was cool. However, it took us about an hour to get food. Then it took almost an hour to get our check. We were a large party, but the wait to pay really ruined a nice meal.

I was changing out one of the ductless air conditioners at the art studio that is connected to Masters so I came across this place by way of work. Met the owner Ryan that morning, cool guy and down to earth. So the job rolled into the 2nd day and right around lunchtime Ryan asked if we we're hungry and wanted a burger for lunch. Cant turn down a free meal when offered, that's just rude man! Asked how we wanted the burgers prepared, we told him and away the order went. Seemed like seconds later(it wasnt) and here he comes with 2 plates, gourmet burger and fries. Didnt know what to expect but daaaang, that was a tasty burger!! Seriuosly, one of the best I've ever had. Tons of flavor, juice and some more flavor. The fries...amazing. I know how free food tastes better, but it didnt matter this time. But that's all I've had there. I imagine the other dishes might be fantastic too just by going off the burger. The place itself seems like a cool spot to hang out. Cool ambience, friendly staff all while being minutes from the beach on PCH in Oside.

Good selection of beer, good mixed cocktails, and good food. Be prepared to be there a while though because the whole process too some time. We ordered a variety of "small plates" and they were all good. Cheese steak egg rolls was two eggrolls cut in half served with spicy ketchup. Pork belly Mac n cheese was very creamy and delicious. Parm truffle fries were overcooked but decent flavoring (I suggest asking for a side of the spicy ketchup for dipping. Local breads were decent too. Finished the meal with crem brulee that was amazing. So, overall good food, long serving time, kinda pricey. I'd go again.

Awful food ! We used to love this place! The menu isn t what it used to be at all. This place has unfortunately become just another bar with ehh and over priced food. The three appetizers we ordered were IHOP quality with artisan price tags. We ordered three appetizers because the only main dishes they have now are literally a cheese burger, veggie burger or a fish burger. Oh wait you can get mac and cheese . Very poor quality. They are not living up to their reputation at all ! We left and went to Mission bar and grill. Now they know what they are doing! When we told our waitress at mission bar and grill what happened she just said yea, their menu is trash and they haven t had a chef since pre pandemic. Eesh !! I don t want them to close ! But man ! After a 77.00 bill and we had to go eat real food after ??? We won t be back until we see some REAL changes. Oh and take your menu down!! It s false advertising! Nothing on there that is good is currently being offered.

Pretty much just paying for the atmosphere. Went here for brunch with the wife. Bottomless mimosas was probably the highlight of it all. Had the chicken and waffle which was bland and underwhelming. Masters breakfast left a bad impression on me for I would probably prefer a Denny's grand slam for a more satisfying meal.

This restaurant is wonderful, quite, and delicious food out of the ordinary. The alamo drink is perfect, I had a custom made drink that was delicious with the perfect amount of alcohol.
We started with wings as an appetizer, and they have their own unique flavor, the oysters were tiny but fresh wich is a must and delicious. The steak was cook perfect as order, the potato fingers were little dry, but the sour cream and cheese help them, the short rib meal is serve just the perfect amount of food, the rib meat falls apart, the sweet potatoes and the carrots are cook perfect.
This restaurant has a chef and bartender with unique flavors, out of the ordinary. Will definitely come back. The staff is friendly and very attentive. Wonderful manager.

With a Home Depot meets Rainforest Cafe aesthetic, Masters is a trendy spot with a fab weekend brunch! If you do brunch, get the chicken and waffles (it will change your life). Be sure to smother it in syrup. Also, ask for Taylor as your server because she is amazing!

Hands down the most attractive bar/restaurant in town. Service is always impeccable. The dry rub wings are to die for! Fancy cocktails and nice wine. Great food. Beer menu was a little sparse for me. I enjoy having some more main stream choices instead of only a few craft beers but that's my only complaint. Always one of our favorites.

Overall, a great experience. Great selections on the menu, good food, excellent service, and a great ambiance.

We went here to spend some time with family and friends. It was warmly lit and there was no loud music playing so we were all able to hear each other well. I would recommend this place for people who want to talk to each other. I can see this as a good place for a date if you want to be able to talk and chat. Or if you just want a nice, quiet place to dine.

Our server was lively, warm, professional, and on point. She knew the menu well and knew what she was talking about. Our glasses were always refilled and we never had an issue throughout the night.

When we got our food, everyone ooh'd and aah'd as the servers brought out our food. Everyone got different things and we were all impressed and happy with the food.

Monday "All day happy hour" is awesome!! Really tasty "Alamo" cocktail, amazing short rib Mac n cheese. I like the attention to detail. The smoked salt rim on my drink, the micro thyme on my Mac n cheese, and the edible flower with the local berries on my creme brulee. We will definitely be back!

Here at close to happy hour being over. Waiter, also Bar Tender, seems to resent having to wait on me. Had to ask the hostess to ask him for a second glass of wine even though at 5:01 p.m. they are still pretty dead. Staff not real friendly

The service gave no attention at all. They gave us 4 glas of water, but we are 5. They serve the wrong dishes. We try to complain, but we didn't see the waiter during the meal.

What a hidden gem off the beaten path and I'm so glad we took a chance on this place. The inside vibe was nice with high open ceiling and lots of outdoor plants. Great items on the menu and refreshing drinks.
