Massachusetts Dermatology Associates Review

I have been going to Massachusetts Dermatology Associates for almost a year and am so impressed by the facility, doctors and staff. I see Dr. Vladimir Ratushny and even though he only sees me for fifteen minute appointment every few months, he goes out of his way to ask about my horse, my upcoming wedding, etc. and really makes me feel like a person not just a name in a patient schedule.

I get Botox and his work has been flawless - no one can figure out what I've had done unless I tell them, they just think I have gotten some better sleep or am in a good mood. Another thing I really admire is that he has never tried to "upsell" me and convince me I need more things done - I am an easy person to convince that more is better and he clearly has the patient's best interests in mind.

I can't speak more highly.

My whole experience at this facility was great start to finish! The staff was incredibly friendly and Dr. Sabina Bis took great care of me. I would definitely recommend this facility to anybody in need of a great dermatologist.

Went in for Acne Scars once.. Asked for any type of treatments that can help? They literally just said Laser surgery is the only treatment that will treat it............. They didn't list any types of laser treatments and didn't even go about.. Thought their would be any other type of treatments that would help or any creams/medications to take to at least fade them away or maybe some information on the laser treatment. Appointment was so quick and not helpful at all! Going to Boston instead.

As I am new to Beverly, I was not only worried about how to find Massachusetts Dermatology, but I was also concerned, if my cancer had spread to my legs. Dr. Garibyan immediately allayed my fears. It hadn't.
She was very professional in her approach and demeanor. She was wonderful and I would be more than willing to recommend Massachusetts Dermatology to anyone in the future.

Highly recommend! Second time seeing Dr. Bis. She did the most thorough skin exam I have ever had. I have referred my husband and several friends to her. Office is nice, clean, runs on time, pleasant staff. Parking is easy.

This office is well run and I had an excellent experience with Dr. Ratushny. I had a nagging skin issue on my leg for several years. He found the right solution quickly.

My experience at MassDerm was wonderful. Their office is bright, clean, and comfortable and the staff is pleasant and professional. I did not have to sit and wait very long at all for my appointment to start. Dr. Bis was fantastic to deal with. She has a very calm and capable manner which set my mind at ease. She explains everything to you in detail during the examination so that you can make informed decisions regarding your health. I had an appointment to with Dr Bis to have a few scary spots checked. My nerves were shot, and it was clear, but the staff as a whole was all fantastic. I was so nervous, I was down to about a sentence worth of a vocabulary, but they were very understanding, and made me feel comfortable. They were very accommodating with room temp as I changed, very thorough in explaining things, and really made sure I understood everything. I very highly recommend this office for any dermatologist needs.

What a great place! Dr. Garibyan fine tuned my diagnosis, expanded my treatment and got marked improvement in my condition. I had been trying other treatments since 2017 without success. The therapists who work with her are delightful ---- sharp, kind, funny and proactive (and they think she is the smartest person around).

I had a positive BCC and SCC taken off my thigh and shin. Doctor Garibyian
did my thigh and Dr. Cummins did my shin. Both of these Dr's
and staff were amazing!! I did end up with a slight infection on my thigh. Called the service on a Sunday they gave me Dr. CUMMINS personal cell phone, she spoke with me at length and called in an antibiotic. EXCELLENT SERVICE!! Would definitely recommend!!! 5 stars

Dr. Garibyan was the first Doctor to formally diagnose my condition. For 3 1/2 years, I got miss directed by other doctors who gave me medication for something that I did not have that made me nauseous. Dr. Garibyan helped me understand what I had and we were able to develop a plan that fit me directly. A ++++

You won't find a better dermatology office! I have been to multiple dermatologist and Dr. Bis has been by far the best. The office is clean and welcoming and the staff are all very friendly. The administrative team was particularly helpful and wonderful. 10/10 would recommend this office for your dermatology needs!

I have been going to this practice for over a year now. I have been seeing Dr. Ratushny. I find the entire staff to be helpful and the medical attention I receive from Dr. Ratushny is top notch all the time! I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for a dermatologist!

I would give negative stars if possible. Mass Dermatology is the only medical office that I have dealt with on the North Shore that has been unwilling to provide sign language interpreting services through a live interpreter. They are willing to provide services through an ipad video service which does not meet our needs. The interpreters are hard to understand and they do not understand us. I don't appreciate being told that you are willing to help when you are denying communication access in a medical environment. Clearly they do not care for providing the basic necessity to meet their patients needs so that they can save money. I wonder where else they are trying to cut cost.

Update. Upon reading and responding to this review they have cancelled my fathers future appointments. Clearly no care for their patients.

Friendly front desk staff and prompt, on-time service for my first appointment. Dr. Jordan Cummins was knowledgeable and responsive to my questions and concerns. Definitely would recommend Dr. Cummins' practice to friends and family.

My first visit. Everyone is very nice.Besides the original reason for my visit, Dr Bis took one look at my leg and knew what the problem and we are treating that as well as the original issue I came to see her for. A Double win!

Dr. Cummings is great! My first visit was due to a new condition that my PC wasn't familiar with. Due to my concerns Mass Dermatology fit me in within a week. He and his staff are attentive and accommodating every time. I love the email reminders too. Thank you Dr. Cummings.

This is the best dermatology experience I have ever had. . . Through patch testing by other dermatologists, I had discovered my allergies. No other doctors told me about specific diets for the rashes that covered my face and arms. Dr. Ratushny put me on the diet for an allergy to balsam of peru. . . And the rashes cleared up. I am so grateful. He is kind and caring, and he really knows his craft!

Pleasant staff and prompt courteous service from beginning to end. Dr. Cummins is kind, thorough and informative with a great professional manor. I would highly recommend and appreciated the time and attention.

My 8 year old daughter has what might be a mole on the underside of her arm that appeared several months ago. We were initially told by her primary care physician that it was a blood blister so we didn't worry too much about it until she showed us what it looks like recently. Its larger than before and black. My husband and I are very scared and nervous about the look of this "mole" and like all parents, fear the worst and just need a professional to review it to give us some answers. When I called this office, they asked me what kind of insurance we had. I told them our primary is Blue Cross Blue Shield and my daughter has secondary insurance through MassHealth. I was immediately told they cant book an appointment for my daughter because they don't take MassHealth. I said that's fine, then just use Blue Cross Blue Shield only. They advised that because we have both, BCBS will try to bill MassHealth (which is news to me) so again, they said they cant help me and can not see my daughter. I worked in the health care industry so this may be something new but when a patient came in with primary and secondary insurance, and we didn't take the secondary insurance, we just billed the primary insurance carrier and billed the patient the balance (which is what I requested they do and again was told they cant do that). I'm sure if I hadn't mentioned MassHealth at all in the initial conversation and only told them about our primary insurance with BCBS, my daughter would have an appointment and we would be one step closer to knowing what is growing on her skin.

At every appointment I have been impressed with the professional care
and friendly manner of everyone on staff. Highly recommend this practice.

I have been coming here for almost a year to treat a keloid. Dr Jordan Cummins has been so great and the staff is always so friendly and helpful. If I could I would give this place a 10 star!

Thorough, methodical, and careful treatment that resulted in successfully learning that my issues were being caused by a frustrating collection of touch and medicine allergies. Unlike other dermatologists I've seen, they did not simply cover me with prescriptions and assume one of them would do the trick. Each step of the process included them ensuring they understood the history and the current status. They also took care in making sure that I understood what was happening, where we were in the course of treatment, and how to manage my issues while we worked toward a solution. Any question I had was responded to promptly and fully. In the few times where I needed to be seen with little notice, I was accommodated.

I am a patient of Dr. Garibyan and have found her to be a very caring and thorough Doctor. She takes the time to listen to your concerns. I recently had a matasized melanoma and after reading the lab results, Dr. Garibyan took the extra step and arranged for me to see a Melanoma Surgeon and an Oncologist and continued to follow my progress after the surgery. Her examinations are very thorough and there is never a rush to get you in and out. Dr. Garibyan has a great personality, makes you feel comfortable and is easy to talk too.

Dr. Bis is always so professional, friendly, and helpful! I always know I ll be taken care of quickly and thoroughly. The entire practice is welcoming and very knowledgeable

Dr Lilit Garibyan is both very approachable and knowledgeable. She has given me the strength to fight melanoma and referred me to the best team of cancer specialists at MGH. I expect to add years to my life expectancy because of the quickness and expert knowledge of Dr Garibyan. Her office is easy to reach and there are no long waits to see the Dr.

Mass Dermatology Associates is a highly professional practice. The staff is terrific. Very attentive, knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. My son and I have been patients of Dr. Jordan Cummins for five plus years. Dr. Cummins is outstanding. During your visit he takes his time getting to know you as a person. You are never rushed during your one on one time with him. And when he suggests treatment he explains in detail the process and expected results. I highly recommend this practice to everyone. Dr. Ratushny is by far the most dedicated and knowledgeable hair transplant surgeon I have had the privilege of being treated by. Believe me when I tell you that over the past 30 years I have had services provided by two other "renowned" people in that field and no one has given me the level of service and dedication that I received from Dr.Ratushny. He and his well trained staff worked diligently for 12 hours to give me a result that exceeded expectations. Their system of support and follow up leading up to the procedure and after was methodical and unlike anything I previously experienced, producing better than promised results. As a cosmetic Doctor of Dental Medicine myself, I feel qualified to render my opinion and support for Dr. Ratushny and his team.

Every time I have gone to the Massachusetts Dermatology they have been super friendly and very professional. They are very knowledgeable and always know the best treatment. They never try and sell things and will actually discourage treatments if they don t think they will be beneficial. They care about their patients and make you feel comfortable. I met Dr. Deborah Cummins when she was chief dermatological surgeon at Boston Medical. I was immediately impressed with her caring manner, her ability to hear and relate, and with her surgical skills. I learned that she had taken art courses as an undergraduate at Brown, and I could see her surgical art demonstrated, in a procedure removing a skin cancer, and later when she went into private practice.

At my first appointment, I filled in all the forms including and this was impressive what I would like to be called by all in the practice. How refreshing and thoughtful! My only experience with the three physicians is with Deborah, but I have full confidence that Dr. Jordan and Dr. Sabina offer the care and comfort I ve experienced from Dr. Deborah. I ve recommended their practice to all I meet who are seeking dermatology. And this is from me, who shops carefully for health care.

Dr. Ratushny is so easy to work with. He makes me so comfortable, and is so obviously well educated and able to examine and advise me! Glad he is there!

An extra bonus is that they offer the latest laser procedures for conditions like Rosacea, acne scar treatment and other aesthetic issues. Dr. Garibyan is one of the most caring and thorough doctors I have experienced. She dealt with my skin issues with remarkable success and guided me through the process of destroying and healing my skin damage emphasizing the importance of using sunscreen every day and dealing with caring for my skin. When I first saw her last year on the recommendation of a friend I basically was a mess but today is a different story. I am more than happy to recommend her to many of my friends and family. Massachusetts Dermatology is conveniently located in the Cummings Center in Beverly. There are many associates in this practice and I was able to get my first appointment promptly. Each appointment, I have been seen in a timely manner. I have had two Mohs surgeries performed by Dr D. Cummins, and each procedure was explained in details. After each surgery, I have received a phone call from a registered nurse asking how I was doing. For the second surgery (this mid-September), I had an issue with the bandage and the nurse gave me an appointment that same day to have it looked at. It has been 2 weeks since surgery, healing is on its way and I have received another call checking if everything was going well. I heartily recommend Mass Derm as they truly care for their patients and follow-up thoroughly.

So I saw Dr. Garibyan for two pretty simple issues. A refill for my hair loss prescription, and a prescription for acne. First the hair loss. It s literally a refill from my last doctor. Not rocket science. I can not stress how simple this should have been. It s 1.25mg over the course of the year. She prescribed me with 21 days worth... ??? I m not going to go into how much money and time I spent for that fiasco. Next. Acne. I have cystic acne to the point of bleeding. It s pretty simple and plain to the eye. Rather than prescribe me with accutane, she decided to prescribe 2-300 dollars of anti fungals and antibiotic creams. Which I couldn t even get on my back if I tried. Luckily I skipped out on this and saved the money.

I ll just summarize by saying I understand good dr s are hard to find but Dr. Garibyan is one of the stupidest Dr. s I ve met in my entire life. I also want to say I never leave reviews let alone negative and off hand this is probably the first negative review I ve ever written in my life but the time and money wasted and the sheer stupidity of this Dr. needed to be reviewed. Her lack of knowledge on two of the simplest dermatology issues is absolutely astounding. Wow.

P.S. my prescription from my last dermatologist cost me 5-7 dollars for the year and with this practice I was charged 14 dollars for 21 days worth not counting the appointment co pays and the hundreds of dollars in creams and ointments she prescribed. Are you serious!!!

Mass Dermatology is a great practice! Dr. Biss is wonderful, she takes time listening and really knows what she's doing.

My care and treatment with Dr. Bis and Dr Deborah Cummins was excellent with great results. The office staff was also like a well oiled machine.... professional, courteous, efficient and super friendly. I highly recommend Mass Dermatology Associates.

I discovered MASS DERM by chance after I called for a skin screening at my regular Dermatology clinic and was told there would be a wait time of several months for the next available appointment. My primary care Doctor called MASS DERM and they saw me right away. I needed two Mohs surgeries on my face which Dr. Deborah Cummins performed flawlessly. I now see Dr. Ratushny for screenings and treatment twice a year.The entire staff are very professional and very friendly. They take the time to explain every step of each procedure. The facilities are always immaculate , nice location with ample parking. In my opinion , the team that MASS DERM has assembled are the absolute best on the North Shore.

As a 63 yr old woman with a family history of melanoma, I went to Mass Dermatology to have some dark spots and moles looked at. I received an appointment within a week. The staff was friendly and helpful. The doctor was thorough, gentle and knowledgeable.Nurses were great. Three precancerous spots were treated. So glad I went!

Ordinarily a trip to the dermatologist s office can be stressful as well as painful. The friendliness, professionalism and the skill of every person that I have met in this office makes it bearable. I called to make an appointment due to a family member recommending this office. I got an appointment within 2 weeks. Upon arrival, I was given some paperwork to confirm, and was called into the office within 10 minutes. The doctor and assistant were very thorough and kind, explaining the process and the exam itself. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a Dermatologist.

I highly recommend Dr. Garibyan. Prior to seeing her, I had a skin problem that had been troubling me for 10 years. Another dermatologist had told me that I just had to live with it. Dr. Garibyan listened carefully and examined me, and then prescribed the solution. It changed my life! I'm so grateful for her kindness and expertise!

I was previously treated by Dr Cummins in Cambridge, and was disappointed to learn he had moved. I then went through a couple of unfortunate dermatology visits (thanks ZocDoc!) before deciding to suck it up and drive up to see Dr Cummins in Beverly. In both instances, the procedures were performed successfully and with a high degree of professionalism and ease. Both Drs poses a keen eye and a decisive manner in which to handle the particular issue. The aftercare and follow up is a testament to the Mass Dermatology practice.

In addition, the attention paid to promptness and time is remarkable. I wish to acknowledge the staff of physicians assistants and nurses. The support staff out front serves as the first contact that all patients meet as the first line of service in the best and most courteous manner. All patients are treated as guests .

Excellent and efficient care....

I was so pleased with this visit. I had a friend refer me and I thought I should at least do a skin check because I spend a lot of time in sun. Dr Sabina and her assistant were so wonderful. Checked me up and down. I had a pimple under my nose they did a biopsy. They called me just a few days later. Not cancerous. I am happy I went. I will go back in 2 years for a recheck. Do yourself a favor and go. You won't regret it

This office was recommended by multiple health professionals so I finally made an appt. I was told to see Dr. Deb. However when I called I was told she was no longer accepting patients. So I booked with dr Sabina. Walking into the office felt like I was walking into a hair salon. I could tell that people might come in here for botox injections and not necessarily a serious skin condition. Everyone was very friendly (hence the two stars). When I spoke to the doctor she wanted to give me a super high powered steriod. I was hesitant to go that route because if the situation got any worse there was nothing else I could use after that. I was also told that I needed to use the steriods every day for the rest of my life. She offered a study about how long term steriod use helped prevent cancer. Although there is one study, there are many studies that show ill effects from long term topical steroid use. We emailed back and forth a couple times and I appreciated her taking the time however the last email I received seemed to disregard all the studies and info I had on the subject. I understand that it must be frustrating to have someone question your methods of treatment, but I believe that I should have a choice as to whether the treatment option is right for me. I didn't want to deal with all the side effects of the medication and I need a doctor who respects that decision.

I'm enjoying getting my acne treated at Massachusetts Dermatology Associates. I drive about an hour to see Dr. Sabina Bis because she is simply that amazing. Would highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a physician that is passionate about their patients and practice.

Dr.Ratushny is great. I couldn t be more happier! The knowledge he posses is impeccable. The staff is superb! Very polite and attentive. I m very happy with the office.

I have seen 2 doctors @ Mass Dermatology Center. Dr. Cummins and Dr. Bis. Both are very knowledgeable,
Professional and understanding. Dr. Bis finally provided me with a cream that helps halt and manage my oral rosacea. I have also had one blue light treatment which is a new treatment to identify and eradicate precancerous spots on your face. The front desk has been wonderful in working with my insurance company. After going into Boston for years for dermatology appointments, we have now find cutting edge services right her close by on the North Shore Beverly @ The Cummings Center.
I would highly recommend this group of doctors and services.
