Great facility, ideal for families as well as couples. The ideal place for the perfect holiday.

Family friendly beach resort with all the amenities and facilities you could wish for. Pools restaurants, kids club, gym, spa, soccer, tennis, cycling, and water sports and lessons. The ocean view house is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of room for a family of 5. They provide everything for baby, so don't bring anything. They even have baby good freshly prepared for every stage of first foods. We will definitely visit again.

Generally we're not huge resort type travellers but Martinhal does it so very well. Children and adults loved it.

Our stay at the resort was fantastic. The ocean house was spacious, stylish, comfortable, and full of amenities. We stayed in a house that overlooked the beach and bay, which had a magnificent view. We were there for a two week period and were never at a loss for things to do at the resort or in the surrounding area. The staff is highly professional, extremely courteous, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The restaurants within the resort are superb, and the bars/lounges are charming and inviting. The beach, islands, and scenery in this part of the country are beautiful. The bay is a natural park and is situated in a very historic part of Portugal with a long and unique maritime past. Very close to the resort we visited the Fortress at Sagres, which has an intriguing history and astounding views. Also nearby are a number of quaint villages with fascinating churches, excellent local cuisine, cultural sites, and very friendly people. This is an extraordinary place to visit, and we highly recommend it!

Great family friendly resort with nice apartments, hotel rooms and villas. All restaurants have kids play area. Several pools, kid clubs for different age groups etc. Happy children, happy parents.

Unique beauty Heavenly blue water ... Diving here is a show of nature.

Just visiting with family and friends. Great for couples with small children. It is not admitted, however, that in Portugal, and despite a high rate of foreigners, most of the staff DO NOT SPEAK PORTUGUESE!

Unbridled luxury and paradisiacal residences ... total relaxation ... a week would be perfect

First of all, we usually don't pay extreme attention to the costs, and quality, good service, good food is much more important, you don't have vacation every day.
Here is an honest review and not a fake review.
The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly the food is very bad for the price as an example we paid 32 per person for the haloween buffet and it was no longer like mediocre canteen food I come from the gastronomy and know what I have to write everything about In the hotel you even pay extra for the use of the trampoline a ball of industrial ice cream 3.50 I haven't made a mistake of 3.50 1 ball of cheap ice cream a hugo as an example 9 that we like to pay in a hotel like the barreis for example but not here in a would-be exclusive hotel as a snak at dee bar a french fries bag with calamares 10 a toast with french fries 13 (cold) the operators try to make money on every corner. Conclusion would like to be exclusive. Man notices the wait staff as they laugh about a laugh because they think how stupid the tourists are and pay such huge sums aperol sprizz 10 etc. etc. Portugal Schlnes country the hotel here a letdown for the price

Perfect place for a fantastic holiday. Luxury for the adults and centered on fun for the kids. Don't think you can get better.

Exceptional service from the moment you arrive. Very personal touch, the staff are amazing and very accommodating, as they are experienced in assisting families.

We keep going back to Marthinal over and over again.

Very few places in the world has it's magic and charm. We end up spending most of the time in the resort and down at the beach.

Whenever we do manage to venture out to visit the other gorgeous beaches around we remember again why Sagres is Europe's surfer's paradise.

Superb, very children orientated. Expensive but you do get what you pay for. Highly recommended to anyone

Perfect for families. The complex is beautiful and modern. Friendly staff. The beach is beautiful and the setting relaxing. I recommend.

Great resort for a family holiday. We rented a Garden House which was plenty of space and featured all the amenities one would require for a baby. The play areas are great for kids. We took advantage of the baby club service which was professional and friendly. Staff throughout the resort were friendly.
The only downside was the quality of the food. The Italian restaurant, Os Gambozinos, in particular, where we had two dinners offers very poor quality Italian food. It is hard to go wrong with a lasagna or penne all arrabbiata yet they cannot make those to a decent standard.
(I passed this feedback at check-out and through the questionnaire after our stay.)

Excellent except for lighting in our villa 403, which is mainly mood lighting and very difficult to read by at night.

We spent Christmas here as a family. It was quiet and relaxing. A bit on the cool side. The hotels was beautiful and we found the staff excellent. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious and perfect for our family of 4.

I don't understand the reviews.
For me this is not a real 5 star resort if you compare it with Greek or Spanish.
-Old stained furniture in the rooms,
- service very very slow,
- You have to order twice because the waitress likes to forget.
- you had to wait 15 minutes for a shuttle bus,
- Waiters do not clear the dishes, although it can be seen that the table is full of them.
- Unfriendly expressions everywhere. (Understaffed or underpaid?)
- WiFi comes and goes !!!
-the pool was cleaned yesterday afternoon so everyone had to get out!
- The food is mediocre in view of the prices and the 5-star standard - how can you leave such a cheap, bad ham on the breakfast buffet when a much better one can be bought in the local supermarket 5 minutes by car?
- Much has to be paid extra.
- The covers for the stained mattresses in the bunks outside were only opened on the third day of our stay.
- a super hi-fi system from Bose in the room but no blootooth connection. So not usable. Welcome to the 21st century! ??
*** Offer for children: a mime player was in the village yesterday and made balloons for children. He pampered a girl because she wanted a second balloon. Where is there such a thing? He was also rude.
One person is always responsible for the children during dinner. But they do very little to nothing.

But the most annoying thing is that the service is so slow. In Greece or Spain the level of service is much more demanding. (A waitress has just passed me and hasn't cleared the table!)

It is the third time that I have come to make a new year in this family undertaking and we love it. It has all the amenities that children need. It is extremely important to reserve the clubs for the little ones.

Very nice resort, friendly staff and modern houses. Even on my birthday, they thought and gave a cake!

A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday, with or without children. We had a great room right on the ocean front. The equipment is very good. Your own flip-flopps, very good shower gel and body lotion and a little surprise every evening as an additional dessert.

We used the fitness facilities and the pools for swimming every day. The spa area with a nice sauna is also recommended.

The restaurants offer a good menu and we have chosen the catch of the day. Catching fish from the region with a good price / performance ratio. The breakfast buffet is also good and we almost exclusively chose the large selection of fresh fruit.

At the end of the trip we stayed two nights in the "Martinhal Chiado" in Lisbon. The rooms are also very well equipped and, thanks to the good insulation, very quiet, although in a central location. A parking space reservation is recommended. Employees are always friendly and courteous. There are many great shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Perfect holiday spot for families with young children. We stayed for a week and it was fantastic. Lots of children's pools, two play areas and a short walk to the beach.
Not sure how relaxing it would be during school holidays or if you didn't have kids!

Martinhal is a lovely resort....It's clean, friendly and in a beautiful location! Martinhal supplies loads of activities like paddle tennis, tennis and swimming lessons, spa treatment, fitness sessions, surfing, dolphin watching (I saw lots of bottle-nose dolphins), and kids daycare. There is also a beach, shop, swimming pools, lots of restaurants and a beautiful view of the sea. Overall a great stay!

DO NOT BOOK!! They are refusing to refund the 50% deposit that we paid even though their own terms and conditions state that we could cancel and receive a full refund. It s been over a month that I am having a back and forth with them demanding my money back and they refuse to comply! So do not book here unless you want your money stolen as well!!

Perfect place a young childs first holiday. Safe, clean, amazing facilities, private beach and wonderful staff.

It has views of the sea and although its price is expensive, it is worth it.

Stayed in a villa on the resort and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great for young families. Buggy included with the villa made life a lot easier. Toys from the hotel were also really useful. Food is very nice with good variety.

Top for parents with children but also for the young at heart. Great facility

Despite the wind being constant. The staff is outstanding,following the old hot tradition of treating guest as if they were in vacations and that they are there to make our experience great.

Everything was amazing. The kids had a blast. So much to see and do, we ran oot of time.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful as soon as we reached the resort. The resort is well placed with easy access to a beautiful beach. I recommend visiting Sagres that is a few minutes drive from the resort.
