A good estate agents friendly helpful and willing to rectified any problems you may have would definate use this company again as it was my first and for me they ticked all the boxes

Thanks to Mark and team at Martin & Co, having struggled to rent a couple of properties with other agents I became a bit despondent. Luckily somebody recommended Martin & Co to me and my view has totally changed. I found them friendly and true professionals from start to finish. Again thank you for all your help in letting my properties with lovely tenants.

Martin & Co (Hanley) were just terrible for me as a tenant of theirs for a year, and I cannot say a good word about them.
They let a property to me which suffered major damp issues and only had their own and the landlords interests in mind. The health impact and damage to my possessions was of no importance to them at all.
Even after a fire caused by the landlords bodging (and a subsequent warning notice being issued) - Martin & Co didn't care 1 bit.
The maintenance manager was consistently useless, non-responsive and evasive. The maintenance team were frequently rude and treated you like a burden.
If you're a tenant - consider twice before renting a property from this company. My personal experience has been that your health and wellbeing are not a priority for them.

The Stoke branch has been looking after properties for me and my partner.

They're exceptionally bad at getting contractors for maintenance issues. We've had to chase them up to make sure jobs are done. If they can't find a contractor in 2-3 weeks, they tend to forget the issue.

We had one occasion where funds sent in as a deposit for one job were allocated to another job by a different contractor.

The staff are pleasant enough to deal with, but it's a poor service. Landlords with fewer than five properties should be wary.

For tenants, we suggest you avoid the Stoke branch. No guarantee that they'll sort out maintenance issues in good time.

Katie was amazing there was no messing about she was efficient and got the viewing and the move done quickly would reccomend her to anyone looking to rent a property

Went for a house viewing. for the house owner to show us around as agent turned up 15 minutes late. didnt get a sorry. then to not even get a call back when waiting!!

I found a very nice apartment with them and lived there for 2 years. Although we really enjoyed the apartment but the few times we called for any issue, it was a long delays. There is no one focal person who is dealing with situation and you have to explain the story every single time. Moreover, also found them rude especially if you are raising concerns of any sort and there is a good chance that you will get different information from different people.

Terrible company very unprofessional don't bother with this company

The best estate agents that I've dealt with by far. The team helped our move to be as seamless and quick as possible when we were in a difficult position. The team are very professional and we always receive great customer service. Thank you.

We have been tenants for over 2 years , we have received no support from the staff , in fact my opinion is they are not just rude but patronising .

I have had so much trouble with the Hanley branch. The have over charged me rent. Had me doing maintenance to the property (the landlord should be doing that), information wasn't passed on. The manger has no manners at all.

I was in the property for 3 years, only contracted to the first year because they never bothered to send out another tenancy agreement. It's poorly run.
I was even charged rent when I wasn't in the property.

STAY AWAY.

MOULD never got treated I was told to " just wipe it away" ..

I'm glad I moved house and don't have to deal with these anymore. They made my life a misery and sent me into depression. It was horrendous.

Looking for another letting agent/ house as very dissatisfied with the customer care at my current abode. Martin'sEem i ensured about a property currently inn the market, although this one turned out to be not for me due to a no pets policy, Martin's were extremely friendly and helpful, will definitely keep a look out for one of their properties!

They seem OK, but as a middleman between you and a landlord they seem happy to leave you in the dark regarding works on your building... Even with emergency repairs. So sometimes you have to chase them up to find out what is happening

I would recommend property owners, landlords to not deal with this estate agent, my property was on the market at below market rate had no real interest in selling and no deal was closed poor service. After speaking with other agents they have stated that this property should have sold especially at the price which I was happy to take out tbh. I guess the other landlords and investors missed out in a good opportunity.

I would not recommend renting through them either as the fees and charges are extortianate. Estate agents need to think more carefully about rental figures hence if a property rents for 400-500, then a management fee of around 30-40 quid a month is more realistic. Yes estate agents have overhead costs etc but so do small time landlords thus overhead costs are high. Rental yields are reasonable if you are prepared to do the leg work yourself.

On another note of selling a property it did feel as though certain staff members have close links with certain investors to perhaps knock your house price down. Thus I would strongly avoid selling with these people and most likely from reading other reviews to also not rent through them especially if calling out comtractors for emergency work etc is such an appaling service and you as a landlord have to chase them.

Instructed Martin and co to sell my house chose them over 2 other companies as from the initial phone call through to the valuation the photos the viewing the sale every member of staff from Hanley and Newcastle were amazing
Work over hours if they needed to for viewings and phone calls always on the end of the phone if I need advise on anything including helping me with purchasing a new house 10/10 service thanks so much and I am reccomending you to all :))

If you can help it, do not go here. The staff are unhelpful. It takes several months to get problems fixed leaving you living in a broken home. They are happy to contact you if they need something but if you need help they ignore you.

I wish I could leave 0 stars. While dealing with this company I had to ring them everyday to make sure they were doing as I asked, I had to remind them several times to send me the forms for an application and I was constantly given excuses as to why they couldn't do it when I asked. I had to pressure them to ring landlords on my behalf and when meeting for viewings I found them unprofessional and unknowledgable. The straw that broke the camels back was when they mixed up my viewing date and informed me they could not fit me in on the date I had originally booked even though I had already received the text confirming my date when I booked it, they were unapologetic and unhelpful on the phone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I've had many issues with this agent but there is one lady Karen at the Hanley office who is their saving grace. Karen is friendly, professional, effective and most importantly honest. If it wasn't for her I'd have stopped using Martin and co a long ago.

I have rented a property from Martin and Co Stoke-on-Trent for 3 years. Sadly today I have given my notice of the property as life moves on.
I have found the staff at this branch very helpful over the years and have dealt with any requests that I have had very promptly. They have allowed myself and my daughter to created some very happy memories in our first home. Thank you. :)

After talking to many Lettings Agents over the years I have found Martin & Co to be the most courteous and professional and deal with all matters efficiently. I would recommend them without a doubt...

Don't bother turning up for appointment. Say we've missed the estate agent when we are there before the appointment yet the staff don't know where the member of staff are.
No reply to email of complaint.
If you want to buy a house don't bother work this estate agents customer service is shocking
