Marriott International - Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel Review

Facility was nice but food and services incredibly over priced.

Decent hotel great staff massive layout. But those quick eats and drinks are way more over priced than many other hotels anywhere.

The location is apt for people coming for a business meeting. Service was great couldn't ask for more

Visited the center to browse the wares for Adepticon. Friendly staff and a well done event, but not the best or most engaging layout to properly display all wares and still have room for tables to play at.

I attended the coin show. It was very well put together with great boothes and enough space that a lot of people come fit in without feeling cramped. The facilities were well kempt and service was great.

This hotel is beautiful and most staff are very friendly. However, I had a terrible experience that ended my trip unhappily. I requested a late check out since my flight was later and I needed time to rest because I wasn't feeling well. Regular check out was at 11am, I paid $50 to get a late check out for 4pm. Around 8:30am a housekeeper came in and I was super sleepy so she left. Then again she came in around 10am and I told her that I have a late check out and I don't need anything. She left. Around 12:30pm again a housekeeper came in and I said again that I have a late check out and I don't need anything. It was very surprising for me. I always assumed hotels have a system to show if a housekeeper has visited my room and I mentioned that I don't need anything. Around 2:15 pm another housekeeper opened the door and came in. I was super shocked and told her, I do have a late check out please don't keep coming. I have a headache and I need to rest.
The situation was super frustrating for me. I called the front desk and ask the receptionist if my late check out was in the system. The receptionist confirmed that they had my late check out in the system. I told her about the constant disruption by housekeepers even though I've clearly mentioned that I do not need anything and I have a late check out. She placed me on hold, then after a minute she said that I have to put the do not disturb sign out. She didn't say sorry or anything. She made it my fault that the housekeepers kept coming and disturbing me even though I did clearly communicate with them. I told them that I am not feeling well and I need to rest in my room.
I paid extra to stay in the room so I could rest. However, not only I didn't get to rest well before my long flight, but the hotel staff made me feel unwelcome and guilty for something that was not my fault. I mentioned on the last 3 visits of the housekeepers that I wasn't feeling well and I needed to rest. I received absolutely no sympathy from the staff and receptionist. Very disappointed!

I was there for a convention and the way they helped set up the convention, provided transportation opportunities and amenities to make us feel us comfortable was very nice. The food and room service was great too.

Abilities Expo was a good convention. We did not stay at the hotel.

Trendy, chic hotel! Decor was FABU! View was great, and tvs are even in the mirrors in the bathroom!

Just amazing. What a wonderful, friendly, staff and comfortable and clean room. I recommend the breakfast buffet. Many great choices including smoked salmon. The chef is top-notch.

The hotel is very clean and spacious. Kinda gives you that rich people feeling. Rooms are also very clean, not much to say there. Though room service did forget to clean our room the first day, but it's not that big of a deal personally.

Stayed at this Renaissance twice before previous to this summer, because of BCA (Billiard) business convention. All 3 times liked the hotel. Very neat and clean with great service. I'll be back

I attended an event and when I arrived the front desk concierge helped me find the correct location. The convention center is clean, easy to access, a great venue for all occasions.

The convention center was very clean and the event itself matched very well with it. I also think the service of the food and the organization of the tables and rooms were great as well.

I have been here twice for two different expos. It is a great venue with parking in close proximity to the entrance.

Fantastic accomodation. Room was cozy and comfortable.

As a business traveler, there are just a few things you need to do right to get a nice experience. This place missed three of them. The wifi was a hassle to connect. Nothing in the room or check-in material provided details on signing in. Had to do a Google search to figure out how to get to the sign in page. How hard is it to provide an iron that works? At least in my room, there wasn't one. Finally, when you ask for your room to be made up and it isn't, that's a big miss. Oh well, sometimes you get a nice experience, other times you don't.

Terrance was our front desk attendant, he was more than helpful. Me and my family more than enjoyed our stay. We felt like kings and queens from the moment we entered to the moment we left. I would highly recommend having your breakfast delivered to your room. Spot on service.

Mecum. Got there at 630 said it went till 8 but they were closing already.

Great resources for conventions with ample free parking. There are restaurants inside but they're pricey.

This is the first time I had to give them a poor review. This trip was a complete nightmare. My room was not ready when we arrived due to a several events going on at the hotel . It appeared as they may have been understaffed this weekend .They should be some complimentary amenities considering the price being paid per night and the fact my room was not ready. The other hotels in the area are comparable and they provide free hospitality items from 5:30-7:30, free breakfast and other items for staying with them . Also , during our stay there computers went down in the lounge area and we never received our food or an apology. Thank you for a poor experience.

They always do a nice job hosting adepticon. The extra parking options and marshals helped a lot this year. Bathrooms are usually kept up which is nice.

Very clean room. Room service was exemplary - both speed and quality of food. Staff was friendly and professional. TV in-mirror with webcam in the bathroom creeped me out so I couldn't do 5 stars.

It was alright. The place is beautiful and had an alright layout. It was just very congested with the amount of people at the place.

Beautiful building and furnishings, but restroom placements were not optimal, and security checkpoints were a log jam

This is a great convention center to have in the suburbs. Lots of parking and ready to get around.

Attend a gaming convention here every year. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Convention space is great. On site restaurant is excellent.

They have a good space for a small to mid size convention/trade show. Onsite parking is limited.

Room was clean, I've never seen a TV in a bathroom mirror before. No one had used the iron in a long time and there was rust in one of the tubes/pipes and it left a rust streak on my shirt. Hotel bar was large and housed my whole party.

Clean and modern rooms. Weird design though. Don't like the open levels. Not a hotel I would stay at again unless coming back to the convention center. Still, big marks for friendly service and cleanliness.

If there were more stars to give, I would give them. I travel a ton for my job and have been to 19 countries, and this hotel made my birthday and night before my first half marathon one of the most memorable stays ever. From the beautiful look of the lobby, room, restaurant and bar areas, to the amazing customer service, to the birthday gift and race love, the staff at the Renaissance truly went above and beyond. I can't say enough great things about my stay, and I want to come back every year on my birthday now! And, I finished my first Schaumburg Turkey Trot half at 2:18:40. Thank you!

Stayed here for a conference. The room was comfortable enough for a conference center. The lounge for platinum guests was very nice! I ve never seen a two story lounge like that. They had great snacks and breakfast was a small step up from continental. I did eat at the restaurant and used their A La Carte service. The restaurant had a standard breakfast buffet. But the dinner was really nice. Our party had the trout and scallops. The scallops had a great sear and cooked perfectly. The trout had a crisp skin with really tender meat. Started with crab cakes and a watermelon salad. It was all really good! The A La Carte service was very very convenient. Had a great burger and the bag was nicely packed with cutlery, condiments, and anything you could need for a to go meal. Only con to the hotel was the distance you had to walk to the parking lot. There was valet. But I d recommend going to the back to park. That seems closer.
