I have been wearing these items for 20 years perfect
Love their products, materials and the idea behind their organization.
I love the fabric and fit of these tops.I have two short sleeve summer tops which I got on sale and I wear them all the time. I just ordered a long sleeve top at regular price on back order. Hope I like it as much as the other two!
I enjoy the fact that material is hand made along with the clothes. Been a customer for well over 10 years can't rush quality!
I've just made my third purchase over the last year from MarketPlace of India and I love their clothing. Perfect lightweight cotton shirts, easy cotton pants without all the zippers and buttons make these the perfect summer clothing. I'm not sure why people complain about the dyes because I've never had a problem. Added bonus, you can wear their clothing straight out of the dryer....no ironing! Great products!
Hit or miss with these items. And they don t explain that your order could take over 2 months to arrive- until you realize you haven t gotten the item and then it s your job to contact them to see where the thing is. Not a great business set up, despite the theory behind what they re trying to do being a good thing. You still have to be commerce-savvy, which they do not seem to be. As far as the fabrics and styles, I have kept one out of 4 orders mostly due to the fabric being scratchy. The one item I did keep I have to always wash by hand due to the colors bleeding. Found that out the hard way. One item was ordered in Oct and came late Dec., too late for the gift I wanted it to be. So, I prob will not order from this company again in the future.
I love Market Place of India, I have been a loyal customer for years.years. The fabrics and embroidery are beautiful and handcrafted. I love 100% cotton. No more fast fashion for me. The women are gifted artists. I appreciate their craftsmanship.
NO CAN DO : Market place Handy work of India
On the one hand I have been wearing MPH clothing for years.
I love the fabrics and the embroidery, and some of the styles. On the other hand these garments after washing a dozen times, with vinegar and salt in hot water, still bleed color into the hand washing basin. When I called the MPH about this issue ( read free :consulting to make their product better for their consumers) , I was greeted with a NO CAN DO ATTITUDE. I EVEN TOLD THEM TECHNIQUES OF HOW TO SET THE DYES! NOPE , WE CANT DO THAT , OUR ARTISANS DO THEIR OWN THING, WE CANT CHANGE ANYTHING. Then they proceeded to lecture me about the conditions in India. Ouch, my husband was born in India, I have been to most of the country dispersed upon several trips. When I pointed out that obviously they have taught their artisans to finish seams., NOPE WE CANT MAKE ANY CHANGES. When I told them about another fair trade company WINTER SUN who employees people from Equator and DOES set their dyes, NOPE WE CANT LOOK AT THEIR WEB SITE , THE SITUATION IN ECUADOR IS DIFFERENT THAN INDIA! FOLLOWED BY NO ONE HAS EVERY COMPLAINED ABOUT THE DYES. When I called them back to tell them that last weekend I showed three people, complete strangers, with my data, their website, on the fly in a tourist town, and in the future I will also share the no can do attitude and that the dyes bleed after a dozen washings, I was told they are CHANGING THEIR CARE INSTRUCTIONS! IN OTHER WORDS PASSING THE RESPONSIBILITY BACK TO THE CONSUMER.
THEY HAVE LOST MY BUSINESS!
