"Ghosted" after interview from over a month ago for entry level engineering role. I was recommended by an employee due to my soft skills and because i hold a BS in engineering. From the beginning of the interview they suggested a slew of other jobs I should go for (like commission sales) instead of this role. It was noticeably rude, though I thought it was a test.
My reason for this review is not for being rejected (if I even have been...) but for the lack of human respect that they clearly have for me. To not share their contact info for me to follow up post interview, to not issue me a rejection letter and for me to not even hear back from the person who recommended me after reaching out numerous times shows a lack of human decency.
I did notice I would've been the only black employee in the office. I'm not sure how much weight that held. Frankly, this isn't even about that. It's about giving all people the respect they deserve, something Mark Co refused to give me.
