Wonderful place for children and the young at heart
Very interesting Hands-On experience. Wonderful nature trail.
This place is worth going to even if it is out of the way. We happen to be driving through the area while on our way to a wedding so we decided to divert to explore this little treasure. My children, wife and I enjoyed ourselves. There was a class about to start that was teaching about raptors so we sat in. The sea life they have to see is nice as well. My children enjoyed being able to touch the rays as well. They have a little bird area outside. It s not a super big place so don t expect it to fill your whole day by any means. I do wish seeing the sea turtles they have was a little easier. Also when you park there is a squirrel that has no fear and will get too close so keep an eye on the kids.
Such a lovely, caring group of people. My family goes about twice a year. This year we also took part in turtle day. It's always a pleasure to see. Many turtles are kept here when they are sick, so definitely take your kids and family to go support the volunteers and the turtles!
Small but friendly staff, doing great work to save animals! Informative
Great place to take the kids. Very cheap admission. Just wish it was bigger!
They do a great job with rescuing turtles. They have a sting Ray exhibit and the Ray's love a light back rub
We loved seeing all the marine life especially the rescue sea turtles in ICU.
I traveled from Michigan but the roof was under repair and i wasn't able to see the sea turtles...but it didn't matter i still loved it. Family affordable and great for kids. Staff were very nice. Lots of fish tanks and interactions with sea life. Also has several species of predatory birds including bald eagles.
Needed to let people know the turtles were not viewable before paying. Otherwise very nice.
Very informational...so many volunteers which is great to see. Alot of different sea life.
Great small place to learn about sea life and birds. The rehab part is very cool.
Had some neat exhibits but would have been nice to know that the touch exhibits where not available before paying to enter
Amazing staff and great place to visit
Plus only $5
Great place, get nice and clean. You get to see what they are doing with the money they receive because they do much to help the local wildlife.
Besides feeding sting rays, this is a Florida tourist trap and I live in FL.
Awesome place, especially if you have twins!! The staff is very friendly and there is a cool variety of displays and things to do!!
a small science marine, you can see sea turtles, many kinds of fish, sea horse etc.. they medically treat sea life and you can see it through a glass window from the main area. worth the few bucks it costs. also across the parking are owls eagles and other fowl in rehab as well
We loved this place!!! It's small but you learn so much! From the sting ray touch tank to the sea turtle rehabilitation tanks to the bird rehabilitation area, this place has an amazing operation going! The staff is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend a trip and for the price you can't beat it!!!
Great place for kids. Unfortunately the touch pool is closed for cleaning
Everyone there is friendly and kind. They all seem to know what they are talking about and they really care about the animals.
My favorite place by far, go every year when my family vacations nearby. They do amazing work. Unlike aquariums, these animals are saved and not in captivity. It s nice knowing that they might be released back into the wild or can at least live nice lives if they aren t allowed to go back. The price is inexpensive, there s a sting ray touch pool, and you can see all kinds of turtles.
My only complaint is that they didn t tell us that the sea turtles were not being housed as the roof was being redone. My family came to see the sea turtles and it was sad that we didn t get to do that. But still a great place and experience.
Cool place that rehab injured seabirds and turtles.
Lovely place and a great way to kill a few hours! Super interesting stuff and not at all expensive to visit :) This was my second time coming here and I will be back!
The best value, most entertaining, and nicest place around!! It is my favorite place around. Highly recommend going there! Lots of great interactive exhibits. You can pet the friendliest sting rays around that does not require you to purchase any food. The center has an amazing turtle section too!
This was my daughter's number one pick when we visited the Daytona Beach Shores area. She learned a whole lot and just loved the entire experience. It was great for the whole family and we will be sure to visit again.
they are working on the roof so there were no turtles today
I love what this place does for education and rehabilitation for marine life. It s a small place but always a must stop place when I m in the Daytona Beach area.
We loved its mission, the Turtles are amazing! Truly cheap to get in, $5 for my family. The displays were great. My girls loved the touch pools, especially the Rays.
Great experience to see and learn about Florida species. Turtle rehab center. Offers lectures and learning opportunites. Some bird species on outside walk, including Bald Eagles.Touch tank with rays. Small gift shop.
I volunteer in the education department. The Center is an exciting, interactional place for visitors to learn about local sea life, including a sting ray touch tank, sea turtle and sea bird rescue and rehab hospital, and much more.
Such a cute little place to take the kids. Oh and cheap!!!
The people are always very nice and helpful. There's lots to see and is a great experience.
Not very big but the kids could touch a sting ray and see injured sea turtles and birds. Pretty cool for 5 bucks!
Very knowledgeable staff and wonderful facility. Will be back next vacation down here.
Sign in parking lot states hours and admission cost. Sign shows it closes at 5pm, we arrived a little after 3pm. My husband uses a Walker, it is a long walk on a ramp to the entrance. Upon arrival to the entrance where you pay admission, we are told they close at 4pm not 5. We asked if we would have enough time to get our monies worth and were told yes. We got to see some feeding of seahorses and an octupus. Then we were on our own to explore everything. We got to see everything then realized the ray touch tank was open again so we got to pet one of the two sting rays. The employee told us to be sure to see the sea turtles outside and that they were closing soon. We quickly saw the sea turtles and had just came back Inside to leave and stopped briefly to see the octupus and was rudely told ma'am we are closed. We were rushed out promptly at 4:00. We don't feel like we got our monies worth.
Great place to take your kids to educate them on marine life. There are injured Sea Turtles under going treatment from the wild you can view from my photos, there is also a Sting Ray touching pool which is very cool.
Oh Such a great little place to take the grandkids, very interesting and a must see how they take care of the sick turtles. Nice gift shop
This is a small rehab center that has a lot of hands on exhibits. The highlight for me was the stingray touch tank, you can even feed them! The staff is great and the presentations are very informative. There is a beautiful nature trail that takes you to a viewing platform and a bird rehab too. The main thing is that your admission fees help save marine life!
Loved visiting the Center, was definitely worth the money! Lots to learn and many different animals to see!
Friendly staff and very educational for kuds of all ages!
Great place for anyone young or old! Aquarium, Turtle Hospital, Wildlife Rehab, Speakers, Gift Shop - something for everyone. Wildlife Festival was fun with live music, food, information booths, activities for the kids, live aminal presentations/speakers - plus a Pelican Rehab Release at Dog Beach. Easy to visit Ponce Inlet Light House & the Marine Science Center on the same day.
Had a great time took Granson lot of things for him to see He loved it
Enough fun for the whole day. I bring my sons here all the time to enjoy the water and marine life. Prices are super reasonable and the kids always have a blast.
Affordable fun for the whole family. Awesome exhibits including a touch tank and an octopus (he's not in the touch tank). Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Very informative, small but I appreciate the work they do to save the animals.
I'm very happy to see creatures being treated so humanely, and in an educative environment. Really positively glad I came here, and took a lot of pictures and met some nice people. It's always hard to see amazing birds stuck in smaller cages, but the alternative for them is death if left to the wild and most are alive because of where they are.
Wonderful exciting work that these guys do a helping rehabilitate Florida's wildlife.
It was just really cool to see all of the animals they had and the fact that you can pet the stingrays and sharks makes it so much cooler
Visited the Center in October 2013 and what a delightful experience, It is a working rehabilitation facility for sea turtles and seabirds...so don't go expecting spectacular photo opportunities. Sea turtles are visible in their rehab area from a large viewing window to avoid much contact with humans...however, non-releaseable stingrays are available for touching in the upstairs area! Display tanks of native fish, turtles and coral are immaculate and so beautiful and there are lots of educational ops available for the young and young at heart. The staff is enthusiastic and kind and so willing to answer questions. The Marine Science Center is a hidden gem that should not be missed if you are a nature lover visiting the area!
Such a great little place. The staff interact with the guests, answer questions, and educate. Petting and feeding the stingrays is a highlight for sure. Also seeing the turtles in the hospital area is pretty fascinating. And the cost is beyond reasonable. If you come often get the family membership. It more than pays for itself.
I love the people there, they genuinely care for the animals.
Was interesting to hear about the different species of sealife including turtles and birds
Incredibly nice to see how lovingly cared for here, animals are largely cared for and prepared for reintroduction and trained. Respect for the employees
Its a decent place for kids and to learn, very educational. Staff is nice and friendly, they feed the animals in front of you and give you an interesting talk. It gets kind of crowded and hot, the space its extremely small for people to walk around and bump into each other. They definitely should have capacity control by certain hours. The place takes like at least one hour and a half to just see and walk around. So capacity control could be worked out in order to enjoy it more. It was extremely uncomfortable with so much people this is the only overwhelming compliant and the stars I didnt rate. Other than this its a cute and small place I would recommend, its worth it to learn and see the care these people are giving to perserve the environment with so little resources. The price its worth but it should stay that way unless more things are added and its ok. The turtle hospital should have a tour guide to explain more about what they do there, maybe I missed the tour idk. Dont miss the free donation bird sanctuary in your left side before entering the marine center.
Small but plenty for kids to do. They rescue injured sea birds and sea turtles. Several were being rehabilitated during my visit.
A must do in Daytona Beach just down the road in Ponce Inlet such a beautiful area . Not a big place but really reasonable price I think $5.00 . Really nice place and very friendly people . Really glad I took the family down there they all loved the place. I like scratching the stringrays backs pretty cool and even got to feed them . They also have a Lighthouse down there didn t get to check it out ran out of time but will next time I m down there
Fun and affordable. There could be a couple more exhibits/ animals. It was very interesting and the kids enjoyed it. The staff was also very friendly.
Very interesting place and great work they are accomplishing! Currently remodeling when we visited so a couple of the displays were not open but the class on reptiles and getting to touch the snake was fun.
I've been coming here since I was a kid and I still love it to this day! The staff is amazing and they offer a lot of educational material and interactions. You can also see a variety of marine species as well as the exact area the turtle rehabilitation process takes place! Their conservation efforts are really commendable and I'm so happy they've successfully rehabilitated so many animals.
Brought our 19 month old daughter and she loved it! It's a very non-commercial small aquarium, science center, and rehab for injured birds and sea turtles! The staff were great and interactive.
Everyone was fun, kind, knowledgeable. We and our kids had fun with a great learning experience. Miss Dale was awesome with all the kids. A great experience for a very low cost.
