My daughter and I go every year to see The Nutcracker. It is a beautiful theater but it's showing its age. There is a parking garage connected which makes it very convenient. The seats are comfortable and this year they added cup holders. I'm not sure when the custom of bringing drinks into the theater changed especially the older ones. I was at the Pabst Theater and you can bring wine in there also. I know if someone spills a drink on me I will not be happy.

Saw Phantom of the Opera here and it did not disappoint! Excellent performance. The music was incredible and the orchestra fantastic! The facility is getting a little outdated with the same seating. It's comfortable enough for a two hour performance but if you're sitting on the end, you almost have to get up to let others through. Still doesn't detract from the performance unless you have someone really tall in front of you, and then it's hard to see. They pack a lot of people in there but are able to get them in and out quickly!

I have been to many performances at Uihlein Hall and Vogel Hall. Uihlein Hall has the best acoustics of theaters in the area. My only complaint is that there are no aisles down the middle, which creates a lot of traffic over other people. Vogel Hall has its own entrance on the State Street side of the building, and is a nice small theater.

Went to a show here and was very impressed. Great venue, we were pretty far back on the main floor but had no problem seeing, hearing or enjoying the show. Most notably for me is I had plenty of leg room. Im about 6 and a half feet tall and was very comfortable (I include this as it's something I h9pe to find in reviews of such venues when i check them out).

I saw many plays here. For those in the D/HH community, they re very accessible. They offer headphones that bring the performances to a whole new level. They offer many goodies, and concessions. A good safe place, it is, to appreciate performing arts.

TLDR; great venue, parking is awful so Uber, during intermission get in line at the bar immediately cause they're slow.

I'm giving it 5 stars because I loved "The Lion King" and it translated well in this venue. My only complaint is that the vocals during the songs were hard to hear over the music. They needed to mix that a little better, the lyrics were hard to pinpoint. We sat in the box seats so it was a great view and comfortable setting. During intermission getting a refresher on drinks too to long, so they need to have more than one person running the bar. If you park in the garage get there early, do not park on the top! You will have to wait an hour for the cars below you to clear out.

Buying tickets in person directly at the box office is super helpful! Not only does it save quite a bit in service fees, it is also nice to discuss which seats have a better view. Have attended several different events here and it's always high quality. Beautiful theater.

I recently attended a wedding here.

I recently attended a wedding here.

It is a beautiful venue with great views. The staff, for the most part, was pleasant and helpful. There is a parking deck right across the street, I do not know if it normally free for events (we had passes).

The food was exceptional for banquet/reception food. I do not know if it was catered in or provided by the venue.

The biggest downside is that apparently the venue is not well designed to have multiple events going on at the same time. We were repeatedly told the reception had to be kept quiets to avoid disturbing a performance below.

Nice venue (1st visit @Vogel Hall in 10+ years).

Nice venue (1st visit @Vogel Hall in 10+ years).
Great accoustics. Poor ticket taker...she lost her glasses...and paid more attention to that and a friend/another patron. Terrible volunteer!!
I stood there for 4+ minutes.

Lovely venue - all seats are good seats, parking can be troublesome and we had a lot of trouble leaving the venue during a course of bad weather. There are no coverings for pedestrians who did not park in the lot. The lot is very costly and I live nearby so I always take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi. It would be nice to have a place to wait for my ride that isn't out in the cold/rain/snow/wind etc.

We attended "Mamma Mia," February 22. It was frustrating to experience mediocre sound. We were in row J in the center - great seats! I can't understand why the sound techs can't get it right. Why can't the soloists' voices consistently be projected more prominently than the orchestra? Too many songs were overriden by the accompaniment. I knew the lyrics, fortunately, so I could follow.

I've been to the Marcus many a time and have always loved the shows. I'm a twenty-something man and I have never been personally involved in the arts. But every time I go to a show with my wife here, I'm surprised, engaged, and find a new love for the arts! This is a lovely place for the whole family and sometimes they have discounted tickets to attract young people as well.

Today i just went to the Marcus center for the Arts to pick up tickets for the First Stage production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever". The main stage here houses the Milwaukee symphony, the Milwaukee Ballet, the Florentine Opera Company, and a variety of traveling shows which come through. The seating and acoustics in the main hall are very good. Tickets csn be pricey, but I'm glad the city can support a variety of arts groups. This is a good home for them.
