I am giving them 1 star because this is minimum I can give.

I originally wrote this review two days ago, but after breakfast today, both my wife and myself thew-up. I am just stunned how this place has degraded from 4 years ago.

My original review from 2 days ago:
We have stayed in this hotel many times, always loved it. Rooms offer stunning views. I was however shocked to see how low the quality of breakfast buffet has sunk. Terrible selection, plus more shocking was the extremely worn down furniture. More suited for a 1 star restaurant.
Chairs are heavily stained and dinning room service is non-existent. We will continue to stay here, mainly because of our romantic history here and beautiful view. But the Makan Makan is extremely disappointing, and that's being generous.

Good food and great service!!! Too bad their famous Laksa was very different from the one I tasted a few years ago. Good thing Rikz the waiter gave us a small bowl of the soup. That s when we decided not to order it anymore. He then recommended the family package with 4 main dishes, fried rice and iced tea. It has big portions and it was good for 6 people. We just added 2 plain rice and we were good to go.

We ordered through Food Panda and the food is terrible. I got the Nasi Lemak, it came with three very dry wings, a hard boiled egg that is rotten, and the rice tastes like dirty dish water. We got the Chicken Rice for the kids which they liked. The husband got the chicken curry with rice and the layer of grease on top made it almost inedible..after it was poured off, it was decent. There was a hair in his rice which was a big turn off. Also ordered the siomai which was 300 pesos for three (THREE!) pieces. They re regular size, so 100 for each one is ridiculous. Maybe if you re at the hotel you have better luck ? But I do not recommend this place at all.

Service was great but does not make up for the food. Selection was horrible little to no traditional Filipino food no longinsa. Travel across the world for eggs and rice. Orange juice tasted watered down not sure if it was really orange juice. I took one bite and push my plate forward not good at all. Will not eat at this place ever again. 1099php for Buffett little to no options. If you love eggs there are tons of options but i cant stomach eggs.

My sister found this restaurant via Google search and was encouraged to try out the place, given its high reviews. Unfortunately, it doesn't deserve the praises even a little bit. We were starved by this restaurant, making us wait for almost an hour for food. We were promised to be served in 30 minutes, but alas! When we followed up several times, the reasons for the delayed food service, according to their servers, are: 1. It is chaotic in their kitchen now. 2. They have a lot of customers at the moment. (Take note that when we came, only three tables are occupied, which include the one for us.) Hence, we came in first and should be served earlier than the newcomers.3. The food is not yet cooked after 30 minutes! They asked us to wait for half an hour and it is not yet cooked after that period! 4. One of the dishes we ordered, which has crab, takes long to be prepared. Given this fact, at least, they should have served other dishes we ordered. NONE WAS SERVED except for the drinks, which will not suffice our hunger.

We were even approached by their Manager, I believe, asking us to reconsider pulling out our order for the food is cooked already. Like seriously? We are being asked to wait again following almost an hour of waiting and starve more. They kept on saying the food is cooked already but nothing is being served.

We are hoping this would reach their upper management, for they could ruin a joyous family day with their service.

Another note, we believe there is also another customer who pulled out their orders before we did. We guessed they are made to wait too long as well.

It's a hip Asian Food Village as it showcases some of the best if not most popular authentic dishes from all over Asia. Tho a bit pricey, it's definitely worth the food trip. Btw, when we went there, there was no buffet....

A nice and pleasant place.

A nice and pleasant place.
It has two sections, the order basis and the all you can eat buffet.
Buffet is good enough.
Has dessert options but during our visit, there were no fruit offerings.
They also have a mini shabu-shabu.
Though it says asian food village, the asian food offered are generic/casual really not the signature type of food.
As I've mentioned, good enough.
Price is above fair, maybe due to the restaurants location.
They also have live acoustic players and singers.

Giving it two stars for the one waiter that was cheerful while delivering the entrees. However, there were 13 of us that went during lunch time and besides the cheerfulness of that waiter, all other parts of the service were horrible. The meals were served very slowly and not all were delivered. I understand being extremely busy during lunch but these were little details that were missed repeatedly. I ordered coffee and water from the very first start. The coffee was never served during the meals so I cancelled it and eventually was served when we were ready to pay (despite it being cancelled). Because there were 13 of us, they couldn't fit us in a table thus 3 were separately seated and they never got their water until in the middle of their meals, after we repeatedly asked again. They didn't bother to check on us again and we had to catch someone to eventually refill our waters. Serving size, presentation, and taste is average compared to the "fine dining" price. Lastly, they never checked if we were all done and ready to pay; we had to do the effort on that part as well about half an hour after being done eating.

We had a wonderful Easter at Makan Makan and all the dishes we ordered were great. Our cravings for Singapore dishes were satisfied. It felt like we travelled back in time when we used to live in Pasir Ris. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up!
