Classic coffee, very beautiful I really liked the iced lemon tea. It has a beautiful syrup piano, I only went once but it will remain in my memory, much more elegant than the famous confectionery Colombo.

I really wanted to love this place. We came a long way to see it, expecting it to be one of the highlights of our trip to Porto but it was a bit disappointing. We had hoped to have breakfast but it was 30 each and we just couldn't spend so much. So we just had a simple coffee which alone was still 6 each. The most expensive coffee I have ever had. The inside IS nice, and if the place was quieter and more affordable we would have enjoyed it more and had more time to soak up the atmosphere, but because it's so very busy it feels like there is pressure to drink up and move on and give other people a chance to come in. I left wishing I was rich and could have enjoyed the breakfast.

When you go in majestic cafe it's like you go back in time .
The place is very classy & old fashion there is a piano in there and sometimes some one is playing on it so it's make your experience more enjoyable.
You can go in and just have coffee or tea and some cake with a glass of port (vinho do Porto ), or have a meal there.
The food there is wonderful and you won't regret your decision.
The best thing in majestic cafe is the deserts with a glass of port that they recommend with the dessert you choose, so you should try this experience.

I'm from Porto and just went there for the first time to try it. The place is very beautiful indeed, but it's not worth the price you pay considering so many other amazing places the city has to offer. Too expensive for the service and the menu is too expensive for the kind of dishes available. I wouldn't recommend it.

Very impressive, the queues were not as big as we were led to believe. Beautiful interior from a bygone era, lovely to sit and take it all in. The food was great, my wife and I shared a tapas. A must visit if you are in Porto.

The decoration is very elegant, the coffee is average, about 4-7 euros, you can use 4 o'clock in the afternoon to eat less people, the leather chair cushions are very special, and the furniture is also worth seeing.

So we went to this cafe recently as its almost like a tourist attraction in Porto and we could see this when we were there, lot of tourists visited the cafe (including us! ). Some wise ones just took photos from outside :P
Anyways, we decided to go in, it was full, luckily we didn't had to wait but there was a short waiting time for most of the other people. The cafe is really beautiful from inside and waiters are dressed fancily giving a royal like feel to the customers. This was the good part.
We had the coffee and the famous 'pestal da nata', both were good but nothing special and of course the price tags are on the higher side.
So, being a famous spot, its ok for a visit, but not a place where I would like to go back eagerly.

Edit:

Edit:

I have to lower the rating at 1 star. Every staff member comes from minute to minute and checks the table to see if you have finished. A disgrace.

Incredibly beautiful location true to its roots. Oldest cake shop in Porto.
Incredibly busy, you have to wait in line to get inside.
Nowadays it looks like only tourists come here, everything moves as quickly as possible to get the others inside.

Prices are high and surprisingly enough, servers don t seem to speak english, or understand simple orders. Probably because they have so many things to care about with all the people coming amd going.

Overall, beautiful building, overpriced and overvalued products.

Definitely a place to visit, the service is excellent the place and worthy of being seen. The owner has a gold mine in the center of Porto because the prices charged are absolutely exaggerated maybe so I had to queue at the door :-) recognizing what quality should be paid and who only enters who wants. I'll be back soon with friends to know what's good

Emblematic place to go once to have a coffee, the or whatever it takes for its peculiar decoration. They say it is the cafeteria where the writer of Harry Potter began writing the first chapters of her saga. It is expensive, very expensive .... But once in a lifetime, it does not hurt.

It's expensive, busy and I'm pretty sure you can get better somewhere else. However, nothing beats the old looking charm of this place. There's something special about it, and about sitting inside enjoying your coffee.

If you pass by, but not worth the detour specially ...
Noisy and always full.
1 coffee 5 , 1 chocolate or tea 7 .
Chocolate is tasty ...
Friendly and fast service, people don't really settle in, a visit just to see, so it gets around pretty quickly.

We went to majestic cafe and really enjoyed our meal. We got the French toast which was delicious and served in a creamy sauce which tasted similar to the famous Portuguese nata. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. The only caveat that I would put in is that we visited in the winter so there was no wait and the place, while being busy, was not unmanageably full. If we had been forced to wait it may not have been worth it because the prices for everything were also quite high.

I would advise people to look at the prices, look at the wait time and then make an informed decision if sitting in the same cafe as a writer that you like is worth it to you.

I've been coming to Porto for five years.

I've been coming to Porto for five years.
Prices continue to be expensive without reason.
Employee is Majestic and guest is slave
Different flavors every day
Foods that are increasingly unhealthy
A new concept serving throwing a fork

Now is the time to fall. Where to never go

I think this is a tourist trap! The cafe was alright...not particularly beautiful or anything. Didn t have to queue for long...thank god! I had their French toast. It was below average for the price you are paying. I definitely wouldn t go again!

Elegant, personally I loved the place and despite the line that there was, a table was left free of two and we entered before anyone else ... Totally recommended, especially if the pianist is playing live

Skip the Majestic Cafe. It's overrated and over priced. The decor needs an uplift. The price of a hot drink is 4-5 euros, tables are squashed and the service is just average. They didn't even bother giving back our 0.50cents change which is a bit presumptuous.
