Horrible exprerience!!
I would like to share a very negative experience I had with this company. I rented a room in a shared apartment through them as an international (Erasmus) student, and I strongly advise anyone—especially other international students—to think twice before using their services. This company exploits the difficult situation of people arriving in Madrid, knowing that finding an alternative accommodation after arrival is extremely challenging.
First of all, the condition of the apartment when I moved in was very poor and looked nothing like the pictures online, which were clearly misleading. Normally, I would have chosen another place, but as a student arriving in a foreign country, your options are limited once you’ve signed a contract in advance.
Secondly, the advertised monthly expenses were not based on realistic averages. The company makes their listings look cheaper than others by showing unrealistically low utility costs, but then charges you significantly higher amounts later. This was especially suspicious because during the spring we didn’t use heating at all, and for two weeks in winter the heating wasn’t working—and the company failed to send anyone to fix it in a timely manner.
Communication was extremely slow. As I mentioned, there were several issues in the apartment, but the company’s response was always delayed. In the middle of winter, we waited over two weeks for someone to fix the broken heating.
There were also unfair hidden fees in the contract, such as unreasonable deductions from the deposit. While I acknowledge I should have read the agreement more carefully, these practices are still dishonest. What upset me the most, however, was an outright scam: on my first day, I noted that a mattress cover listed in the inventory was missing. I was told to report anything missing to avoid being held responsible later. About a month later, the mattress cover arrived—I didn’t think much of it until I moved out and discovered they had charged me €48 for it! I argued that it was unfair to charge me for something I had reported missing and then left behind in the room when I left. Despite this, they insisted on deducting the amount with no valid explanation. To make matters worse, a basic mattress cover costs no more than €5, so they blatantly overcharged me, taking advantage of the fact that for such a small sum, it would be impractical for me to dispute it further.
In summary, I strongly discourage anyone—especially Erasmus or international students—from renting through this company. Once you arrive, it’s very difficult to switch to another apartment, and they know it. Trusting them with any deposit is risky, as they will charge whatever they want afterwards, knowing you have limited ways to protect yourself.
