I run a small cake business and they were able to create a logo for me (which I absolutely LOVE). I got a cute apron done up and also baseball t-shirts for my slopitch team. I decided to design 2 shirts, 48 of each design (so a fairly large order). My friend and I searched high and low for a place locally to print. We found Mad Monkey, as well as another shop had recommended us to them.
I talked with Dave through email and in person. I showed him my 2 designs. One was a bit tough to do because of its size. Out of all the places we talked to, Dave was confident that he would be able to do it. Other shops said they couldn't do it or didn't feel confident. Dave is a stand up guy. He offered to give us a tour of the shop (which is a very nice, organized, clean facility.) We stayed in communication throughout the whole print process. He kept me updated on progress as well as supplying proofs with every design. One of many great things we really appreciated was he even printed the design onto a shirt to physically see. This was when we weren't too happy with the size. Superhero Dave said no problem, and we came up with another solution with out any hassle AND with another proof.
Another instance, during shipping, they sent Dave the wrong shirts to print on. I got home and noticed it and emailed him. Immediately, Dave sent me back an email and said not to worry, he will reprint the 9 shirts onto the correct shirts and took the hit.
One more thing that proves that they are top notch in customer service. There was a hole on the back of the shirt. He credited us that shirt. We left as happy customers.
Being a perfectionist which sometimes makes me a pain to deal with, Dave was professional and never complained or seemed upset. He knew and understood what needed to be done. Dave and the Mad Monkey crew have been a pleasure to work with. Great communication, quick answers, easy to talk to and most importantly, whipping out wicked quality T-shirts. I can't thank Dave enough with how he has handled everything from start to close. We will for sure come to Mad Monkey and Dave to get more done. You guys killed it!

We are a pretty small customer, but they make us feel like we are the biggest account they have.
Extremely slow and uncompromising. Their sales person Tyler hasn't done anything to help tight deadlines or even printing 2 items of clothing for trial. It takes 2 weeks for a trial, then another 2 weeks for swag...MAYBE. I had to call and speak to other staff to get the ball rolling. To edit the same graphics on different colors, will apparently take another 2 weeks...wow.
After being recommended by a friend company, I'd suggest not.
I was looking for a local place to get some hooded sweatshirts done for my video gaming team / company (since most online solutions I had worked with in the past were either mega overpriced or super low quality) and after working with Zul and Dave from Mad Monkey Apparel, I was super stoked with everything - from the discussions and their expert advise to the final product, it was a great experience overall!
While I had worked with printing companies before, it was definitely helpful to have their expert minds on the project as well. They were willing and able to make numerous suggestions and alternative solutions so we didn't break the bank + come out with a product we could all be proud of! Plus the cost in the end, despite it being a low-quantity run (~20 hooded sweatshirts compared to doing 100+) was very acceptable for what I was trying to accomplish. I tried to get them to quote me on a major order for a large group. I came in and talked with the owner Zul about it, we looked over samples of numerous different items and got the preliminary things taken care of to start the ball rolling. Well after numerous weeks no reply. Call them back and get an I'm sorry I have been really busy and I will get a quote per item to you in several days. That was more then a week ago. I give up as my time is to valuable to waste chasing a guy that does not seem to value a group with multiple thousands of members buying power.
