Nice clean complex with loads of activities on off...
Nice clean complex with loads of activities on offer.
Nice clean complex with loads of activities on offer.
Dropped in for a coffee and shopping. Nice selection of clothing and home ware. It has grown a lot over the last 20 years!
First class accomodstion. Plenty of activities for adults and children. Good base for skiing in cairngorms.
Georgious rooms the bed was so big I got lost in it
Poor room service, had to ask for clean seats and made bed myself during a 5 day stay, but otherewise would stay again
Have visited the Aviemore resort almost every year for the past 34 years. It is a lovely location.
Friendly glamorous place in a piece of heaven. Doesn't get better!
Generally okay but , toilets at shop not really clean.
We had a large and beautiful room, quiet and with a view of the surrounding countryside; One regret: in the bathroom we did not have the least shelf or the least space to deposit our toiletries. The restaurant room is "huge" and we appreciated the cheerful nature of the staff.
Soft play and play centre for kids were fantastic, pool too but rooms a little tired and shower facilities at pool. Gorgeous setting though and nice food.
Tired rooms, food average but the staff generally good and facilities great for the wee one
Very very improvable. No reception at night. Lack of heating Everything, everything very impersonal. They lack professionalism.
Seems to be going down hill. Very few staff in retail area and very quiet throughout
Disappointing experience of this place, needs a good clean & fresh kick of paint.
Almost "luxury" resort including 4 different hotels, breakfast room, at least two restaurants, fitness area with swimming pool, boutique. large rooms, bright and comfortable. The bathroom sink unfortunately does not have a mixer but separate taps. Cleanliness ok. Carpeting everywhere can cause allergy sufferers. Negative note: the whole complex is a true labyrinth, with mezzanine floors that confuse ideas. Good, but I would not return.
Colymbridge staff very helpful. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Could not fault them. Sadly our room was so warm that I sat at the open window from 4am till 7 o clock. The radiator was off. There appeared to be a pipe running through the room that was very warm and there was nothing we could do about.
Great hotel, it has everything near by, from a softplay area, activity room, play park, swimming pool, cinema.
Kids loved every second of it.
We did have have issue with our room which got sorted out right away, the staff were lovely from start to end and we got great weather.
Would love to come back again.
At the back of Aviemore is the highland resort, a mix of hotels and lodges all in one area. There's a pool, cinema, soft play and a few restaurants with a variety of foods types
Kack window kack door kack breakfast chairs with kack holes
Unfriendly staff 2 hours too early to throw out of the room and ned for breakfast and dirty glasses
Nice location in the middle of the nature, easy to walk in the woods or take a bike and cycle to the nearby lakes and mountains. The hotel itself is good, large rooms and comfortable beds. Too bad for the double taps in the bathroom sink. Breakfast included excellent porridge with a selection of toppings, plus other standard continental food.
Getting a bit tired. Pool freezing. Enjoyable though.
Everything was fine and clean and the environment is really impressive.
We loved this... The pool was brilliant for our 3 kids 2,4,6 as they could walk for the full length of the pool and the soft play has 5! Levels of fun... We spent many a day in there
Visited for a swim but discovered pool is no longer open for non residents to pay for a swim (guess it's busy enough). Had a coffee instead and Costa was open to non residents.
Very nice location. Long way to our room from reception. Breakfast was enjoyable. The room was comfortable and modern
Spotlessly clean, well kept, comfortable rooms great housekeeping staff.. great location
Inflatable Activity centre was excellent for a rainy day in aviemore. Food in the restaurant was good but overly salted (personal taste maybe), staff were extremely pleasant and attentive.
Very well appointed hotel, with friendly helpful staff and good food. We love it here.
Very good hotel in a large complex in the middle of Scottish countryside.
Rooms are large, clean and well furnished and the restaurant food is really
Very good and with lots of choices. Waiters are also very kind.
Swimming pool really needs an upgrade and good clean. Lockers not locking. Floor dirty. Showers falling apart and not hot water today.
rooms clean, great service but overpriced what what it is
Always a special place aviemore. The MacDonald hotel never disappoint, with great food and excellent service. See you soon
Very clean, I liked the decoration, very good food. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Definitely YES I will be back.
Thanks for your great services.
Beautiful resort, excellent facilities, shame they don't have pay for overnight Motorhome parking, then you could buy meals in the hotel and buy passes for leisure facilities.. but unfortunately not .
Beautiful. It is in the countryside, has a very modern architecture, and a delicious meal. The atmosphere is relaxed and causes a good impression to the guests. I would recommend it for sure.
Fantastic place to have a family holidays. We are going to back again. My daughter loves the swimming pool. We are staying in the lodges, they are amazing.
Was there at a function, food was awful, service was worse, great venue.
Evening meals & entertainment was truly great. The room & breakfast / lunch fiasco on one day not so much!
An excellent 4 day family break over New Year. Lots to do for kids including four activities daily, panto, cinema, playzone, swimming pool, etc. Great entertainment staff got kids involved in evening events. Generally staff were courteous and h elpful. Book an extra day or two to allow time to explore local area.
Great, except that gave me the wrong room and I had to change to another one.
Overall very good, some areas require an update but most are nice. I wouldn't bother with the Italian restaurant but Aspects is excellent and the staff are very welcoming. Management are also good and responsive to feedback. Pool and activity areas are also great for the kids.
The rooms are spacious and lovely. Staff are pleasant and the breakfast ok, but the rest of the hotel is very austere and a little worn. I suspect the other hotels in the complex are nicer
This is the 6th time staying here . We love everything about this resort . The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is very good. We will be back again next year
Well I stayed here over a year ago now and I came back (staying somewhere else) to see what was in the shop and to see a film, the cinema is massive and the shops are stocked with good quality stuff, happy times (one down side? Architecture but it is getting on in years aha
A nice place to visit, always new things to look at
Lovely relaxing day out, kids loved it, plenty to do. We are regular visitors and can't recommend it highly enough for either a day out or a longer stay.
Lovely hotel, but the best part is the Spey Valley shopping resort...lovely gifts, homeware and food. Friendly staff and a great place to do your Christmas shopping!
Good and appropriate for the price. Convenient location, only 5 min. to the shopping street. Food OK.
It was a nice enough stay but rooms are a bit dated, Staff not the nicest and parking was a pain to get in and out of
Not as I remember it. Very expensive. Can get same products elsewhere, and cheaper.
Staff in approachable.
Friendly place, breakfast great, room good bed awesome lol .the only issue i had is we came at night and getting to the hotel the place isn't light up at night good
Bed was the best thing about this hotel but everything else was shocking. We stayed for 2 nights and the breakfast has gave both of us food poisoning and wern't that nice. The staff was not friendly and will definitely not be staying at a macdonald hotel again absolutely appalling.
Great fun in the pool and soft play, though coffee shop restrictive.
One of the best value reasons to have a Highlife card is you can use it to access the swimming pool here. They also are the only Highlife pool with a more relaxed entry policy for kids. Means we swim here lots! Also the slide and waves are good and the changing facilities better than most other Highlife pools.
The jacuzzi didn't work for either visit and on the second visit the sauna was also under repair.
This would be a wonderful place to stay. It has several restaurants, a large movie theater, an aquatic center with a pool and slide, and other amenities.
My family and I stayed elsewhere and traveled here for some of the amenities (which are also open to people who aren t staying there). If they weren t fully booked we definitely would have stayed here.
Could not fault this place at all in any shape or form. Great food great drinks great friendly staff clean and an amazing location.
Well basically I am indian so might be biased.... The location is very beautiful but has limited Veg food options...if you can carry your own food its a place worth visiting.
Great facilities for children. Our son was unwell overnight and the staff went above and beyond, waiting with us for an ambulance, leaving us chocolates and checking in with us later on. We would definitely return.
Visited for the Santa weekend and we all had a great time. Fantastic cinema and swimming pool. Food was great and staff were really helpful. Will happily visit again.
Enjoyed afternoon tea at resort this afternoon
It was an excellent experience with great food, very good service and it was excellent value
Appalling. Left 20 minutes at check in desk while staff 'chatted and smoked' in plain view of the queue of people waiting. Them get to room and find no water, or even a fridge. When calling through got a 'we can't hear you' even though you could hear them in the background saying 'that's more people complaining' 'hang-up'. This chain used to be pretty good, but clearly no-one cares anymore about service. Totally my fault for booking them, so need to accept some accountability. Thankfully only for one night (or is that the reason for the terrible experience)
Went to go swimming and use the soft play area. The soft play was great, but could only get a week pass for the swimming so had to give it a miss.
