Enjoyed the Celtic Media Festival location very much. Kind stuff, very organised, fairly good food. In general a great event.

Enjoyed the Celtic Media Festival location very much. Kind stuff, very organised, fairly good food. In general a great event.
Staff great room great advertising offers that didn't seem to exist in the main restaurant and advertising bars in our hotel when all there was a burger bar misleading or what!!!!!
Very poor welcome ,could not us a computer! Very plain,& very expensive.
Great place to visit and stay I have been going for years
Absolute disgrace. We stayed in a lodge and there was mould along the kitchen skirting board, a thick layer of dust under my bed, the wall was bashed in and there was mouldy water in our cupboard which made the lodge reek of sick. Dated and disgusting
Attended two catered events here over a weekend, I'd be surprised if any of the food was tasted before it left the kitchen, most of it was bland, and the mashed potatoes had to much horseradish it was inedible. The room was nice however.
Hotel was spotless. Staff were great and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
Amazing place! I come here for a conference every year and the scenery is beautiful. The rooms are really lovely too with everything you would expect and more. Food is great too.
Need to deal with the current situation with more common sense, we are going to have this virus around for a while yet and need to take control with good quality leadership and common sense
Excelent rooms, good service not much to gripe about.
English and continental type breakfasts.
Good car parking, not far from railway, helpful staff.
Very large sandwiches, perfect if you are hungry. Service very good.
Great place for a Venue. Staff so helpful and Attentive.Looked after all our needs above and beyond.
Luxury lodges we're amazing to stay in and worth the money.
Great location and much about the venue should be praised. We stayed in a pet friendly 3 bed lodge. Aviemore and the Highlands are absolutely awesome. Hotel public areas are clean and well stocked. Numerous areas and eateries. Bad points were dog hairs on our newly made bed, I assume from previous holiday makers (Not good), cabins were vast and spacious but need some upgrade / maintenance. Final complaint was a workman let himself into our lodge whilst we were out to replace a shower head, I assume from a previous complaint (Not us). We should have been contacted 1st in my opinion if access was agreeable and our dog not left alone.
Fantastic range of hotels. Very helpful staff. Pool and suna area all recently been renovated. Thus is a high end hotel chain and being in the heart of Avimore is fantastic for winter sports.
Beautiful hotel with amazing views. Staff are always lovely and willing to help.
Great place to visit. Great surrounding areas to see and wander around.
Great place for everything! Shopping, eating and stay
This one can be the best option for a holiday here, in this beauty area.
Habitable room, windows broken. A plug for charging. From the cellphone. Eat underground. It is because pork must be half raw, the potato is square and the vegetables are raw, but the service is hard
Over priced... Cannot really work out how they survive.
Unfortunately, the first impression of an East European prefabricated building has been confirmed. We arrived with a tour group - mostly older people - and had to haul the bags because the elevator was broken. Our room was so small that I was afraid to open the suitcase .....
At dinnertime, the tap was cleaned so that only bottled beer was available. The food was OK. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.
Nothing special in my opinion. Retail outlets stock quality brands at high prices. Parking friendly, staff polite. Expensive!
Rating based on a visit for a coffee, not as a guest. Hotel complex big, plenty of options.
Great! I am very happy to be here for our enjoyable holiday. The resort has a shopping center and restaurant, a cinema is very convenient, a strong English country style, and the staff is very kind and the room is great.
Good place to take the kids, only a short walk from some great hikes, views are awesome.
Lodges are becoming very dated, paint flaking and minimum of self catering equipment, no oven or washing machine.
If in lodges near the complex pray they don't have a big event on. We were kept awake until 0130 by the noise of a average band playing very loudly. Not restful at all as the bedroom windows are closest to the complex. They need updating and possibly triple glazing in the closer lodges.
That said they are at least clean and the staff do their best.
variety of exceptional regional shopping outlets, restaurants and leisure facilities
Lovely holiday - staff very polite and helpful. Both on site restaurants very good. Good selection of breakfasts and buffet for children. Leisure centre great addition with pool, playbarn and activity rooms for children.
Highly recommended.
Outstanding quality. Clean, spotless, beautiful location. wonderful shopping centre, and a little family cinema. I just can't fault the place.
Went there to pick up my owl and wow.... THUNDER IN THE GLEN!!!!!!!! Awesome bikes, stalls, excellent atmosphere, and the music WAS ROCKIN'!!!! Would recommend
Nice hotel, restaurant is a tad overpriced for an average plate of food
Just came here for shopping at times it can be very expensive but otherwise it's nice to have a look!
The bed and breakfast spot on, chef does a great black pudding
Plenty for the kids basically a posh butlins
A very good conference centre. Everything ran smoothly. No shortage of refreshments and tasty meals. Only criticism is that our room got far too hot on one day. Though I can't imagine this is a routine problem in Aviemore.
Wifi doesn't work at all and everything in the room is outdated. View outside the window is beautiful though.
It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The breakfast was great but the waiting staff would need training as they were trying to clear the tables before we were finished eating, I have worked in the hotel business for over 20 years More
We were up for the half marathon and it's a great resort . It's all accessible from any of the rooms and very welcoming.
Great rooms. Beds are comfy and reception is great. Breakfast is somewhat chaotic and disorganized. However, there are some great restaurants nearby, so that makes up for it. Highly recommended!
Great stay. Ideal location for exploring the beautiful area.
To call this a 4 star hotel must be a distasteful joke. This hotel feels more like a road hotel but badly maintained. Old rooms, tiny bathrooms, ....Truly a disappointment.
Well.....the buildings are not the Burj Khalifa, nor the Shard!!
The decor is not avant-garde nor minimalist!! It is just nice, cozy, comfy and clean.
Now.......the members of staff looking after the guests are AMAZING!!
The Town is great, views and natural assets unbelievable and the resort has all you need to enjoy a great time as a family.....Thank you all.
We will be come back for sure.
Simple luxury touches, a home away from home, comfort, the elemis toiletries where similar to what I use at home. Towel rail came in handy as the Cairngorms are chilly anyway so a little toasty touch really helped. Our room had all the amenities we needed. We went for the half board basis and it was lovely, evening meal was beautiful. Breakfast was freshly cooked for me as a vegetarian and the staff are fabulous given the covid 19 restrictions. We are excited to return
Great resort with loads to do. The lodge we stayed in was clean and spacious, but could probably have done with a little modernisation in the furnishings. The beds were comfortable and all of the amenities were supplied. The only negative we had at all was that we couldn't switch off the heated floor in the en-suite which made the bedroom too warm at night.
The swimming pool was very clean with a good flume, felt well laid-out & just the right size.
We will definitely be coming back as wee feel we didn't even scratch the surface of what there is to do at this resort.
Standard rooms hotel room. Breakfast buffet is good.
Worst food in uk,
Smelly and sour fish cannit eat.
Great location in Aviemore. Wide range of facilities and lots of room.
Large conferences may suffer from puddings and tea and coffee running out at peak times. Be a little selfish and make sure that you are first in line if this matters to you.
Beautiful setting but rooms with sheets that put hair on end. ... and the towels ....
I do not count
Don't forget to bring your wallet as you will need it
The hotel is great! Rich breakfast buffet, own cinema, very friendly staff, good restaurants and the rooms were very clean!
Incredible rooms, good facilities. Climatized pool. Breakfast very varied. There is no colacao or anything like that. The coffee is puchero. They have a hairdryer in the room, which is appreciated the truth. I would go back!
Good location, good infrastructure. Service unfortunately bad, cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Speyside Valley shopping is great, the surroundings too.
Nice place. A bit dispersive. Magic aviemore atmosphere. Very Turistic Place.
Beautiful food (the burgers, ribs and wings in Spey Burger were off the charts!), comfortable beds, loads of activities for kids and adults alike, incredibly friendly and helpful staff and nearly non stop snow for 10 days solid. What more could you want from a hotel resort in the Scottish mountains? Fantastic experience. Thank you and see you again soon.
Smooth check-in process, rooms were a good size to share with a friend. Reception responded quickly when we had a problem with our shower tray not draining properly. Breakfast was a buffet and was very nice with everything well stocked. Overall a very positive experience and I would definitely stay again.
Really great scottish new year experience. Staff are very attentive, food is great and plenty for the kids. Great pantomime, cinema and kids activity centre... highly recommended this resort if you are looking for a good getaway at new year.
Large hotel complex that unfortunately is showing its age in some places. However the food is very good at there's lots to keep the kids entertained
Lovely rooms. Great location. Helpful staff. Pricey bars.
Fantastic hotel with great service and good customer service and more merit since we were a group of about 50 people
Had a fantastic time at Macdonald Aviemore Resort's Santa Weekend.
We tried out activities outside the hotel, namely zorbs and grass sledges. Super fun. Will stay at the hotel on our next trip
Odd thing was the difference in the price of a glass of coke i had between the hotel and the country club.
Nice hotel complex with shops and a few bars/restaurants.
We stayed with our dog and when we arrived were given a copy of the pet policy which states where they are and aren't allowed to go. We went to the Morlich Lounge which - as stated on the pet policy - was dog friendly. The person working at the front desk in the hotel said he "didn't think it was dog friendly.." and upon me confiding that it states that it is in the pet policy he replied "well actually it may well be, I don't know the pet policy if I'm being honest". How can you work in a hotel and not know policies, especially in an area like Aviemore where lots of people visit with their dogs?!
Breakfast buffet is good with a hot and cold selection.
The resort is old and worn. The rooms are full of thick carpets and old furniture. No air conditioning, from check-in to the room a road has to be crossed. The lavabo has a hot and cold tap each. The breakfast unloving, many dirty plates. We were booked by the travel agent, never again. (Both, travel agent and this hotel)
When we are in or around Aviemore we always have a walk round and have coffee because its Costa food nice .and staff are polite .
