Beautiful venue, and very austere. I have always enjoyed attending and going to this wondrous opera house.
Beautiful venue, and very austere. I have always enjoyed attending and going to this wondrous opera house.
Extremely beautiful theatre. Very intimate. Acoustics are wonderful. Had a phenominal evening I will never forget
Views of stage are great no matter the seat - this is upper balcony - 4th row - left side - still had a very good view of stage
We went to see Shen Yun performance. It was incredible.
Powerful, moving, magical, enlightening, grand, superb performances!!!!!
Majestic ambiance!!!!! Saw Rigaletto, and Catch A Rising Star in Concert.
Loved there family day. A real well done and thought out experience.
A nice place to go if you want to soak in some culture!!!!!
Wonderful performance of "The Barber of Seville!" Particularly enjoyed the tenor in the role of Figaro.
This opera house never seems to disappoint. Wonderfully produced productions with very talented musicians.
Lots of history, you won't leave here unsatisfied, so long as you do it right.
Great space. I recommend the boxes for viewing as the floor seating has a soft rake.
The best of Chicago's theatre era. The performances these walls must have seen are mind boggling. Westside sorry was wonderful.
An afternoon at lyric opera. Full house for Rossini's barber of sivelle
Great shows preformed in a beautiful historic building. Seats are uncomfortable though, which can be rough during long performances.
If you are an opera fan this place is a treat. See if you can take a tour.
Not the best opera building in the world, just one of the best opera theaters
Saw Jesus Christ Superstar. Amazing! Seats were cramped. My knees were against the seat in front of me and I am 5 6
Beautiful Opera. Good view from back seets too. Nice sound and good subtitles. Wonderful artists playing.
There isn't one bad thing I can say about this place. The theater is just gorgeous and the opera productions are fabulous. If you are a student, the theater does offer very discounted pricing which is an awesome plus.
Gorgeous halls and rooms w fantastic opera singers and orchestra. Chicago's iconic gem.
Absolutely beautiful. Truly enjoyed it. Can't wait to see another one.
Lovely venue. Great acoustics. Perfect location... easy to find. Plenty of concessions. Fun extras like the camera and red carpet backdrop!
Outstanding place to see and hear some of the greatest operas being performed anywhere in the world.
Great performance of Don Giovanni. I attended the opera pre talk which was really interesting, a great way to learn more about the story, music and performers. My only dislike is the lack of leg room. I'm 5',11" and my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me.. ol the pain.
Amazing, classic opera in a landmark venue without any pretense. Everyone is welcome and comfortable. Chicago at its very best.
Simple BEAUTIFUL!!! If you are going there best way is by cab/uber/lyft
This place is always an awesome place to come love it
Saw Straight No Chaser and had a wonderful time at Lyric Opera!
I love the aesthetic of the theatre, the pre show talks with staff, and the amazing music. Eat before you go, shows are long and they only really have drinks and cheese.
This was the best Opera performnce I have seen in 33 years! The lyric version of Tsykovsky's version of Pushkin's Opera "The Three Queens'! Fabulous! See it!!
This place is gorgeous and has a great stage, and the experience is spectacular. There are attendants for elevators as well as ushering and they make sure every need and question is taken care of.
Amazing and beautiful place to see opera and musicals!
Saw Jesus Christ Superstar
Enjoy it but the audio was difficult to understand. Do not know if it was the audio system or actor enunciation.
While I walk and at times trudge through the joys and sorrows of life, the operas at Lyric exult and weep with me.
Just experienced West Side Story.....the sound system at the Lyric is soooo good. Loved the show. The music and the dancing were suberb!
Absolutely love the lyrics it's not only beautiful but the performances are amazing.
I loved love this place. It s almost magical as you walk in. I suggest you dress up and get the whole experience. When you first arrive try to be an hour early so you can order intermission food ahead of time. We ordered ahead at the Bistro. We chose desert and champagne for our first intermission. The desert I had is pictured it was the Opera cake. The cake was very decadent. I loved it. The pink champagne I ordered was so good and only $11 a glass. I suggest you try both.
We also took our time to walk around and visit several floors since there are beautiful gowns throughout. Vera Wang is one of the designers.
They also have several stations between acts where you can get a snack or drink and not have to wait in long lines. They are very prompt to start and give you warning bells.
Overall Ariodante the Opera we saw was good and kept our attention. It definitely is a Romantic comedy and a nice change to what I normally watch. One of the main characters was sick and had a sub but it did not matter the sub was great. I don t want to get into too much detail and give things away.
Overall, I will be coming back to this Opera house and will possibly try a box seat out next. The seats we had were right up front 3rd row on the side. It would have been nice to be in the middle more but honestly this was a good seat for me.
Some of the ushers are not very helpful in showing you to your seat.
Awesome venue, but the drink lines could use a lot more speed.
Large facilities that are very clean. The staff was very professional and helpful. Would certainly visit again.
Went for a yoga class. The building was beautiful and added a classy touch to the practice
really nice billing, besides the lyric opera also hosting offices, like the SAP Hybris office.
The opera house is stunningly beautiful, the acoustics are wonderful and the production of West Side Story was lush in sou d, big orchestra. It had remarkable soloists, great dancing, and a clever set.
It was faithful to Bernstein, Sondheim, and Robbins, but felt more contemporary.
Best ticket in town!
Beautiful! I was definitely glad to see they had a subtitle ticker above the stage. Personable bartenders who genuinely care about your experience. Lovely extras to look at everywhere you turn!
The is the best concert that you might want to go. Even though they might have other concert that you might be interested in.
Hands down, what needs to be said. Every performance is spectacular
Great plays you can only find in 5 major cities in the US
A treasure in the loop along the river. Best operatic singers in the world perform treasured traditional operas and exciting new operas, too. Recently, more concerts and musicals have been added. Architecturally stunning.
Beautiful old building right on the river, saw JC superstar and it was a phenomenal show. The seats are a bit small for those of us vertically gifted.
Jesus Christ Superstar was a great first step into musical theatre.
It's Lyric Opera. Does someone look at reviews for Lyric Opera? Go see an opera in person, potential opera-goer. Go early for the lecture and remember to bring your opera glasses. Your life will only be better for it.
Straight No Chaser great concert. Love the venue. Always a great staff.
Horrible security guard. I have never encountered such mean guy in my life!
The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is great.
What can be said? Simply brilliant!! Amazing performances set it stunning architecture! The delightfull and engaging staff truely make you feel welcome each and every time. Well done Lyric!
Beautiful theater and top quality performances. Just sooooo expensive...
