Overall we had a nice time at Luxor. We actually only stayed one night as we needed a place to stay prior to our long stay at Mandalay Bay and Luxor was affordable. I appreciate the downstairs Starbucks that made it quick for us to grab coffee early in the morning, and the front desk staff was friendly when we checked in. My only downer was that we waited in line for probably about 30 minutes to get checked in, which was no fun. The rooms were obviously updated, but nothing special. The hotel is obviously older, but I feel they make a good effort to bring in new upgrades! We would stay again and maybe next time try out some of their restaurants!

When I saw this hotel, this remind me of las venturas cuz there is same casino hotel exist in gta sanandreas and it was freaking awesome exprience that visiting Las Vegas. I always dreamed for this. I mean this city is my fav (i visited in july 2019 before covid-19)
Vegas is such a well oiled money taking machine that I would imagine most hotel experiences are similar at this point. For starters Luxor is an older building and it shows, on the plus side it tends to be cheaper and the suites are still nice enough. The pool isn't amazing and you are at the end of the strip (there is a tram to get you places). If you want to experience Vegas of the early 2000's and 90's then Luxor is great. If you want to be on the strip but not paying as much as other places then this is the place to be. Solid value for your money
Not recommended at all. Stayed with them in Aug 2019. They room doesn't have basic things like mini refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. Very disappointing from a big hotel like luxor. I would recommend to consider other hotels just in outskirts of strip area like platinum resorts and spa and others. You will find everything including free complementary parking there.
LGBTQ Temptation Sunday pool party was super fun! Met lots of people who flew in from around the world to take a dip in the pool, dance to a dj, get delicious drinks and food, and enjoy laughter, sunshades, and fun! We had a blast! Luxor makes it so much fun and very memorable! I'll be back for more in a few months!
This is a really cool, upscale casino hotel on the southern part of the last Vegas strip. It really stands out from the other hotels as this is shaped exactly like a pyramid and it's sleek facade entices you to come and stay there. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous with some of the best views of the strip
Luxor is alive and happening! Fun, fun, fun, exciting full of life where you see smiling faces enjoying Las Vegas the way it was intended. Great air ventilation for those that do not like smoke. Great employee's and best of ALL free spin up to $100 free play on your birthday. The only casino that gives you something on ones special day.
Really unique place to stop by on the strip. While it is on the southern end it's worth a stop to check out as there is nothing else like it on the strip. They have a large casino and a handful of shows such as Carrot Top and Blue Men group. There is also the Titanic and bodies exhibit as well as a food court, it's definitely worth a stop and is connected to other MGM properties.
The front desk was nasty and unprofessional with a attitude. I request a handicapped and safewell room two days before arrive and still recieve a regular room. They dont have Commodation for there gust. They dont celebrate Halloween and they dont have velvet parking. Who own this hotel. There not friendly at all. This is coming from a manage at front desk. I will be canceling my stay for any additional night due to no Commodation. I regular visit Los Vegas in never experience anything like this. As large as luxor is they should be A shame of their self. The tub was dirty inside. I have nothing to lie about. I took a picture.
Great people work at the Luxor; very friendly staff, pit bosses, hosts, check in, room service and food service including grill..the Pyramid Cafe is a little jewel of a restaurant that its patrons would love to be open again 24 hours like it was when the Luxor opened, or at least more than the usual six hours especially if you play all night. Would be great to keep open till the other restaurants serve dinner. Otherwise great environment.
Worst experience ever! I pre-paid for my room and choose the room I wanted. I got there & the clerk tells me they do not have that room available I told him I did not want another room & he said there was nothing he could do. So they give me a room that has water damage, rusting pipes above the sink, the sink would knock when you turned off the water. It was nothing like the photos of the room I choose.
Our stay wasn't the greatest. Our room had a terrible view, no view at all to be honest, the room always stunk of sewage. Had an employee come up to spray it but didn't resolve the stench. The lady working front desk at check in was very snobby and didn't feel welcoming at all. Will definitely be staying at a different resort my next visit
A hotel/casino shaped like a pyramid with a spinx statue at front entrance. Many bars, restaurants, shops are inside the structure. There is also a theater with popular shows.
One of my favorite hotels. I love the Egyptian decor. I recommend the Bodies and Titanic exhibits. They are amazing and less expensive than a lot of shows.
Luxor hotel and casino don't enforce the mask policy ...I complained to security and their boss wasn't wearing mask at all plus he was very rude nasty and sarcastic person im gonna report them to osha and health department...Luxor is a beautiful place but not safe
This hotel is fancy and it has an amazing view but on the other hand it's not clean at all I found a long hair on the towel in the bathroom as you can see in the pictures and night stand isn't clean neither is the floor
Warning, you may need to hit the jackpot just to buy a burger here at the eating establishments. Food prices are high portions are small. However tbe atmosphere of the casino is very cool.
Room was booked online approximately 1.5 months in advance of planned stay. Online it states, "Your reservation deposit is refundable if cancelled before Nov 15, 2019 12:00 AM in the hotel's local time.". Today is November 3, 2019, and Lisa C., a supervisor with "Room Reservations" customer service is claiming the room is nonrefundable and is refusing to cancel the reservation without forfeiting the charges.
We had an awful experience in this hotel. The room was good at first glance but upon further investigation the bathroom was falling apart. There was black gunk in the corners of the shower and we had to use the tub instead. We made two complaints about it and no one did anything to take care of our concerns. I'm 8 months pregnant and staying in a room with paint peeling and stuff growing on the walls isn't my idea of peak Vegas living. Also, when room service came and cleaned up they left us with a broken glass to drink out of. We were very disappointed and won't be coming back. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't stay here!!
Great place to stay. Not as loud or as busy as the other places on the Strip and that is not a bad thing. People are very friendly and helpful. All the sights on the Strip are just an Uber ride away. Rooms were just a tad worn or would have been 5 *'s.
Arrived at 6 pm it took 45 minutes to check-in. The room was listed at $35 a night plus $39.68 for resort fees plus $10 for parking. There should be NO resort fees for a one night stay especially arriving after 6 pm and the parking should be included in the resort fees. We were told the pool closes at 7 pm, WHY? There should be a coffee maker in every room. They should not be listing the rooms so cheap it is very miss guiding.
I've always wanted to stay here. Really interesting architecture but age has gotten to it. Clean rooms, great staff but the filters and HVAC may need a bit of maintenance.
Great food options, and entertainment options, there's a shuttle goes between two other hotels. Parking is convenient, if you don't mind a bit of walking.
The only complaint I have is the elevators in our section (there are many) only had 1 to 2 working at a time (there are 4 total). So sometimes the lines and waits were long, up to 20 mins, to get to the floor you wanted. Otherwise everything else was great!
I will mention there are no fridges, microwaves or coffee makers in the rooms but they have plenty of food and coffee options around the hotel. Hope my pictures help!
I personally didn't stay here during my trip to Las Vegas but I did spend most of my time here. The Roulette tables are poppin. One of the nicer hotels on the inside / Casino areas. Good buffet with an option for an all day pass. Vegas prices still but nothing drastic, great service, an after hours hot dog spot called Backstage Deli that hit the spot! I will be staying here the next time I come
It is an affordable hotel with Egyptian concept. It is on the main Las Vegas strip so you can walk around and easily access to other hotels and casinos. Their buffet is 4/5 but in compare to other hotels the food quality is good. I like the architecture of this hotel and it is one of my favorites in Las Vegas.
Pros The Location is great, close to airport, close to many other great hotels and places to visit, it has a tram to go to Excalibur than from Excalibur to Bellagio. There s many attractions and shows inside the hotel like the Bodies, Titanic, Blue man group and more, you can literally do and see so much without ever leaving the hotel. The whole Egyptian theme is just amazing. The room was kind of outdated but still good place to spend the night. They should remodel all the run houses room and make it look better. Unfortunately, I was unlucky to stay in room next to elevator where it s was good idea at first but the sound of elevator going up and down at night is not really pleasant at all. The staff were great and nice. Cons The resort fee - they should removed at least in fall and winter time because no one will be using the pool
Luxor staff are very helpful they helped me i didn't a prior accommodations for a room but for Luxor and their staff they accommodated me a room on a Saturday night. And it was very nice of them.
I've stayed at Luxor a couple of times and can say that it's unfortunately going downhill. To start off, don't waste your time with the mobile check in. I "mobile checked in," told them I'd arrive at 3:30, by 4:30 still hadn't received an email that our room was ready, stood in line for another 30 minutes, and finally got a room the old fashioned way. The $37/night resort fee is great, not sure what it's for because it wasn't parking, that was another $10 per night. It also wasn't for fixing the smashed electrical outlet or half-working AC in our dated pyramid room. Staff throughout our stay were generally unapproachable and short with their interactions. Their latest addition is the pleasure of getting harassed every time you walk through the casino floor by MGM time-share hawkers who try to reel you in with show tickets and free play. Corporate profits prevail at the expense of service at these strip resorts anymore, and it's really a shame.
Fun hotel to walk through! It's very different. I can imagine that if your are afraid of heights that you may not really like to sleep on a high floor. We just walked through it, there are things to do but those are expensive and the casino is the same as the other casinos. But fun!
First room had musty smell and had wet carpet. The person I informed of this was very helpful and understanding (wish I remembered to ask his name). They moved us to another room which was the same as the first except it was cleaner smelling and dry carpet. The view from both rooms was of nothing but rooftops. Overall, the people were customer oriented and treated everyone (including the rudy lady in front of me) with respect and curiosity. Rooms had no microwave or mini refrigerator (the only downside) which is why only 4 stars.
It was the most unorganized & unprepared hotel I've ever stayed at. There was no parking for hotel guest. We had to wait 3 hours on our room and we were over charged by $75. You should avoid this nightmare called a hotel.
Nice clean room and now with the covid restrictions, only a few people in the elevator at a time. Nice pool area and we also had to reserve a spot to go in.
This is the creepiest hotel I have ever stayed at.....we were walking in a quieter part of the hotel on the second level past a weird rhino hanging on the wall...as we made our way to the elevators we noticed as we stepped from one point to the other...a dark cold foreboding energy could be felt.... confirmed by 4 sober people....we got into the elevators... realized we were in the wrong one...we tried to open the door and it wouldn't open...the elevator temperature then dropped about 20 degrees....and the elevator started moving on its own.....as the elevator moved we tried to hit the floor buttons but none of them registered..... we mysteriously ended up on the 26th floor...we made it back down....this hotel is 100 percent haunted... I don't believe in ghosts or God.... I was never more shaken by my stay at the Luxor.....never stay there
Best to checkin through mgmresort app than in person to avoid crowd. Always use assigned elevators to go to rooms to avoid being lost. Good interior but rooms are very ordinary. Holiday inn is better than this. But for the deal it is worth it not when paid with full price.
Rooms are really nice! These pics are the Tower Suite... Wet bar & fridge come with this room.. it's worth it if you are staying more than nite. This suite is very spacious!A lot of these rooms overlook the pool & freeway. Views are gorgeous! Join MLife to take advantage of discounts!!
I really like this hotel. The rooms are not expensive and if you want to go farther down the strip just take a cab you'll save the money on the Room. There's lots of shows and anything you need in the casino. The Room was clean the bed somewhat new.
I liked the room, perfectly cleaned, although there was something to complain about, but overall it s very cool and comfortable a chic soft 2-bed bed. And soft pillows with a blanket. I was pleased with the air conditioning, it was stuffy at night) so overall 9/10 for that price. The bath is also cool. I liked everything by design.
DO NOT STAY AT THE LUXOR! We have stayed at this location several times, and always stay in the Tower 1 bedroom Superior Suite. We decided to try and stay in the Pyramid Superior King suite this time as staying in the pyramid is supposed to be a different experience. We walked into the suite, and please see photos below to understand, if we were going to spend 1,000 dollars, this was not acceptable. On top of it not being well kept, there was a wind storm going on which is normal for Las Vegas and the howling on the windows was very loud. We walked up to Guest services and spoke with Anna about our concerns. She was abrupt and rude from the very start about the wind howling in the room and stated, "that its just how it is at the Luxor."(Mind you we have stayed at this location half a dozen times and never had this issue before.) Still smiling to her at this point we say we would like to switch to a tower suite, due to the Pyramid suite being outdated and everything from, one working light in the bathroom and vanity area, Furniture very rundown and unkempt. Obvious patches in walls throughout the whole room, paint falling off walls in several locations, trim not attached to the wall, several lights in room not working, wall paper peeling, tiles in the bathroom literally laying on the floor and honestly just as nice as a basic best western room for 3 times the cost. While explaining this, Anna is rubbing her eyes and waving her hands as if to hurry us up.So my husband brings up the pictures he took and she abruptly waves him away. Again we explain we just wanted to switch rooms. She then informs us there are no rooms and walks away. We were left a bit dazed but still patiently waiting. She comes back says nothing to us at all, and starts typing on her computer, looks up and says I have 1 tower room suite you can have and its $125 extra. I go to speak to my husband to make sure its in the budget and she interrupts me and says do you want it or not. My husband responds we will take it, and asks to pay right then as we don't like to have waiting fees at checkout. She coldly says thats not possible and continues on typing. Hands us keys and said next customer really loud. We didn't even know what our new room number was, or even if our old room keys would work to get our things, so my husband says excuse me will we be able to get our things from previous room and she then plainly stated "Yeah.....". When we returned to get our things I called down for a manager to make my complaint and received Eugene. He listened to my complaint without interruption, but when I finished he had nothing to say at all. No apology, or explanation , there was a very long pause so I continued talking to fill the air and he finally stated very unconvincingly he would be pulling her off the floor to talk to her. That was it, so I explained look I'm not trying to be a difficult customer but her attitude was ridiculous, and we had pictures and video of all of our complaints. They acted as though I was asking for a free room, I was just wanting to move to an area of the hotel that I knew to be clean and more comfortable and again said, we have photos of this room and you guys should come look at the poor condition of this room. Again this isn't a run of the house room its supposed to be a suite and we paid what is a large amount of money for us to be here at your hotel. Its not as if we couldn't have stayed elsewhere for the amount of money spent on the room alone. He offered us a $30 drink credit with an again awkward pause, and no apology given. I was left with no words at this point because he obviously didn't care. Again we understood that we took the risk of trying the older side of the hotel and were not demanding or angry at the situation, we just wanted to move to the newer side where we know we are comfortable because we have been there half a dozen times before. We were loyal customers that came back every year as they always have the best deals and accommodations for the money. However after this time we will not be going back again.
Room was nice but i had change room 2 times because fist room was dirty then next room nothing work in room the next day there not a lot food option in this hotel you have go next door for food i will stay somewhere else next time
You can definitely tell that Mgm put alot of money back into the Luxor. Its just as pristine and upto date as every other Mgm property. Having Hyperx Arena there is awesome too.
Vegas has changed a bit since the last time I visited. Almost no buffets open. Blackjack tables are limited to 3 players. Have to compliment amazing service, housekeeping kept the towels refreshed and everyone was friendly. Felt like the vacation was over too soon. Still gets packed with people but wasn't unbearable. Only Corona I seen had a lime, looked delicious.
Hotel is getting dated and it's starting to show. Definitely needs a revamp. Bed is comfortable, bathrooms are dated and showers don't seem to work very well. Ok just to sleep but don't expect much. Their buffet is very well served.
Not she sure why crab at the buffet was frozen. Really nice casino, hotel. Buffet is good deal$$ Huge inside lobby, nice casino great atmosphere. Top floor suite is amazing. Crazy nice views of the city. Awesine casino and the elevators go sideways that was a cool surprise.
In my opinion, this hotel is very 80s style. Even though it's well maintained it's a standard hotel for an mgm hotel. Gym and swimming pool are OK as well. Not good offer for dinning or even breakfast (just Starbucks) so we had to go out to another hotel. Rooms are kind of renewed which is good. At this time the some shows wee playing were : Blue man group, bodys, titanic which were OK (I loved blue man group). Some others show were playing at that time but honestly don't remember.
The hotel stay was awesome. The rooms were clean and the maids were adorable. Every day they come in and clean, even if you've misplaced something they will make sure it's in an obvious area for when you get back.
Checking in and out was super easy, you can go to the desk to check in or even do it with your phone. Even though there is a casino no is no smoke smell in any of the non-smoking areas. It was all so much fun, and there are absolutely no complaints and can't wait to go back again. If you have little kids that may have put something in a random location, the maids will find it and put it on your bed!
Showing its age, rooms have damage to walls and furniture. Dust everywhere elevators shake and make noise. Buffet was good. Casino was good and service was better at the bar machines not so good on the floor. Go for the pyramid stay somewhere else.
It's a giant pyramid in the middle of the desert and it was a GREAT place to stay! We had a queen corner suite and it was comfortable, clean and we had plenty of room.
The hotel itself was clean, had friendly staff and with a decent location to the strip. However, it seemed the resort was still attempting to fully open and accommodate for the restrictions mandated by covid-19. Majority of the dine-in restaurants were still closed...and the ones that were open, had limited hours. The pool was over crowded, and some were waiting 4 hours just to get inside. Unfortunate that many guests were not even able to take advantage of the pool, considering the wait times...leaving groups of those waiting for their time slot into the pool to sit on the floor in the hallways of the hotel. The checkout process was tasking. There was not a designated person to handle the checkouts, so we did the digital checkout- and ended up being charged twice for the late checkout. We then attempted to call the hotel, and they apparently were not accepting calls.
I am very disappointed in the service that I recieved here at the hotel. The staff seemed like you were annoying them everytime you had a question, as well as they were not well informed with the information of the food and beverage credits. In addittion, when we checked in to our room, after waiting in a long line, we had stained towels, and a bed that had stained sheets, as well as a chair that was all stained and crumbs. When we informed a front desk, the lady just rolled her eyes and credited us $15. On top of all of this, we had oringally booked a Pyramid Room with a king bed, however they were sold out of those rooms. If we wanted that still, we had to pay extra? I do not understand how I should be inconvienced due to their lack of planning?
We've stayed here twice and we've loved both times! This hotel is pretty with beautiful statues, it's clean and neat and conveniently located between the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay via moving walkway. There's plenty to see and visit here even if you don't make it to the main strip. The first time we were here a year or two ago there was construction right outside the hotel which made it difficult to easily reach other properties but we were still satisfied with our location.
The staff were really friendly. Our suite was good as we had 7 rooms with a great view however we did book for 5 people but only got two king size beds, however there was a sofa.
The location is great and the tram service however to walk to the tram service was quite far.
The pool was fantastic and very relaxing.
If there were more restraunts in the hotel it would have been more convenient but overall the hotel was great!
