I've been coming here for 3+ years and I've had nothing but great experiences here, multiple piercings done here and the staff (Iain and Jsin are great!) are very efficient and professional! Same with the one tattoo I got here a few years ago by Sara.
Edit: just wanted to say I've now also gotten pierced by Charlotte and she is just as amazing! I can confirm the whole piercing staff is seriously awesome. Always really happy with this place!

I was nervous and terrified this being my first tattoo and hearing so many stories of pain, but while it was a little intense it wasn't too bad. Ashley (not sure I spelled it her way) was awesome. She understood and was patient with my constant apologies. The atmosphere was friendly and bright. The entire staff was jovial and that made it more calming for a older "newbie" like me. The artist that did my work was Bryan, I loved what he drew up for me from the details I gave him. He is amazing!!! If I decide to "brave the parlor" again I will definitely go back to Lucky 13 and seek out Bryan. Thanks Lucky 13.

The guy Jerry that tattooed me messed my tattoo up and wasn't very nice. However, Bill and the other guy are great and done amazing job on my husband and cousins tattoos.

This is the best place to get pierced for the price. Charlotte is my favorite piercer here. She is super quick, friendly, and puts me at ease. Her expertise is clearly shown. Thank you Charlotte and lucky 13 for putting a little bit of sparkle into my ear!

Customer service is so great. They handle my daughter and I piercing needs. We are in and out in no time. Haven't had no issues or problems. Would definitely recommend.

Our second visit, and both times were EXCEPTIONAL!!!! Our tattoos are great: crisp lines; even, layered shading. Both guys were patient, kind and even-handed!

Terrible spot. My friend got a tattoo that looked like a kid did it! Plus the customer service sucks. Worst tattoo spot in RVA.

Charlotte is the Bomb.com she did a piercing on me a labret piercing and she flawlesly pierced me I didnt feel it if you ever need a piercing done ask for her!!! Plus her personality is as beautiful as she is

Ive gotten a tattoo, nipple piercing, tongue, and nose done here! Absolutely love this place and I've brought 3 friends who have also got piercings done and love them!!

SO I went to your shop to get my ears re-pierced since i hadn't had any in five years. The price was alot more then what it cost me to have them done before. the main problem is the guy who did it messed up my holes. they do not go straight back but are angled. Now when ever i sleep the ball goes into my ears and I can't redo my second holes because of this. I also got this done a little of a week ago, and will not be going there for any other piercings or even recommend anybody else to go.

The staff was incredibly helpful and kind! I went in to get a new earring for a piercing that was done poorly at a different piercing place in Pennsylvania. The staff knew exactly what new earring would help my piercing heal and did not charge me anything for the new earring. The staff has always been extremely kind and helpful in my previous visits as well. This is the only place I go to for earrings and piercings.

It was fast cheap and the people were really nice. I got a rook and conch. Both $20. I was only there for like 7 min and was a great experience and I would go again.

I cannot believe how great this place is! I got my bellybutton pierced there a few weeks ago, it was so clean, they all were so nice, it was only $20, and my friend and I were in and out of there in 15 minutes!

I've been going to Lucky 13 for years, literally since I was about 15. Honestly, it depends on who does it. I've gone and gotten piercings that were EXCELLENT (perfect placement, no complications afterwards, hardly any pain, aside from cleaning I mostly forgot I had it) and I've gotten piercings from hell. It depends who does it. One particular guy, if he does it I will have issues with the piercing. They don't heal as quickly, they're sore and it's just hell. Most of the time I have to get them redone because the jewelry isn't screwed on right which is even more annoying. But another guy, he's quick and they really do heal quicker when he does it and I've never had a problem with a piercing he's given me. I'd only have him do my piercings because they're just wonderful.

Do not get pierced here. I had my nipples pierced here in July of 2017 and they never healed because they did not pierce them with the correct barbell length (I was very adamant about keeping my piercings clean, followed all after care instructions given.) They did not even mark the piercing beforehand. I went to a different shop to have them changed because of how much pain I was in and they were appaulled with the placement and gauge of the barbell. This is not my first piercing and I am 100% sure I was not properly taken care of. Save your money!

I gave it a second star because my wife had a good experience, we both came in yesterday to get tattoos for our anniversary and my artist wasn't the most friendly guy, which isn't a big deal. But at the end I looked at the tattoo in the mirror and it looked ok, so I left and went home. 4 hours later when I took of the bandage and gently washed it and put on some a&d, the shading looks terrible, it looks like a bunch of choppy lines and it's not even symmetrical. Luckily my arm isn't ruined, I can get it fixed at some point, but overall very disappointed with the results for the money I spent. It wasn't like it was a complicated tattoo.

I got my belly button pierced by a very nice worker. I did not get her name, but she was young and had colored hair. She was helpful, informative, quick, and overall nice. The facility was nice and clean. Would come again and recommend.

I went in the shop and neither of the people in the shop wanted to do my tattoo... but I prefer if you are gonna get a nice and better Tattoo got to City Limits Tattoo and Piercing and it's better quality tattoos

This was my 1st time getting a tattoo done in Richmond. Lucky 13 came highly recommended. Young ladies at the front desk were very polite. I was a walk in so I had no idea who was going to do my tattoo. I was blessed with Abel. He was great. Very professional, clean work area, great conversation and awesome customer service. I recommend anyone who is looking for an awesome tattoo artist to go check out Abel. You will not be disappointed. Looking forward to visiting Lucky 13 again in the foreseeable future.

Everyone here customer service is A1. I've been coming to lucky 13 before they got the bigger shop I get all my piercings here and I love the service.

Went to get my dimples done and had very good experience the lady who did them was super nice and was very patient with me as I was super terrified lol but it's been 2 months and my cheeks are healing very nicely I love this place

Jason at Lucky 13 is hands down the BEST!!! Been going to him for years and never disappoints. Gives his honest opinion if you have questions or uncertainty about what your looking for. If your looking for any type of piercing i HIGHLY recommend him!!

Not friendly. Artists will dump your small scheduled project for a larger (more money) in a heartbeat. Talent yes. But no one here seems happy, glad or even content to work or even be here. This equals disdain for clients. Not an enjoyable experience.

Went in a few days ago I got my nipples and belly pierced by Mikey. She was great very calm and professional. Wasn't painful just a quick pinch and done. Very happy.

What can I say this place is awesome. I walked in and was shocked with how busy they were ( I heard they were good from a local).
The whole entire staff was extremely friendly, and professional. Q did my tattoo, and I love it.. When I am ready for another one ,and in town this is where I'll be going.

Got my daith pierced by Ian! And my partner had his first piercing ever done by him as well (a cartilage). Super super friendly piercer and quick piercing jobs! Changed my septum jewelry to my new purchase as well. He made sure we knew how to care for them and gave me some advice on a piercing that s been getting angry at me. Definitely will go back and see him again!

Great for small pieces

A bit of a churn and burn shop so mainly good for walking ins and smaller pieces. Staff is welcoming and will line you up with best artists for what you want done. Lantz' realism work is worth it if that is style you want. Competitive and value pricing for work

Got my septum pierced and the person who did it was really nice and prepared me for the needle i will onlt go to lucky 13 for all of my piercings from now on and for my future tattoos

My husband and I came in today as walk-ins. The staff were all very friendly at both check-in counters. I got my septum pierced today. The piercer was very nice and answered any questions I had. Went really quick it was about a 15 minute wait and 5 minutes to get it done. The tattoo artist that did a small tattoo for my husband was also very nice and did a great job. We drove 2 hours from Stafford and 100% will be back

I really like Lucky 13. Everyone's experience is going to be different, but I had a pretty good one when I got my nose pierced, and would go back. It's very clean and for the most part everyone on the staff is really friendly. There are a few people who are less social, but hey, nothing wrong with that. I have many friends who have gotten pierced there and liked it a lot. Nobody I know of nor myself has had any serious problems with the healing process - it's your own responsibility to take care of the piercing, and as long as you follow the aftercare directions given to you by your piercer, you should be fine. So overall I really like Lucky 13 and would consider going there again for another piercing. Plus, it's a great deal.

I got my dermal facial piercing redone here for the 2nd time and they did a fantastic job and redid the piercing in the exact same place with minimal pain despite the presence of scar tissue. I'm super impressed with the final results after the healing process!

Abel did this and I love it. He was great with on the spot designing with the little bit of basic information I gave him. Very friendly and easy going loved it! I'll be back to get more ink soon!

There's a little wait time but once you're in the chair it's in and out. I will go back

Lucky 13 is a solid and diverse "street" shop that has been around for 10+ years and are capable of doing everything from custom and portraiture to coverups.I have have had work done by several tattooers there including those that have received poor reviews on this page. I can tell you that their work is NOT poor and that they follow correct universal precautions, use proper sterilization technique and care about the work they do.

I think a big problem is with the customers. As a customer I have seen men and women in that shop that do not know what the difference is between a moth and a butterfly, cheetah spots and leopard spots or parts of their own body. I heard a woman try to reference her clitoris and she kept calling it her "clik". So many customers walk in on impulse with a gaggle of their friends and ask "Can I get a sleeve for $100?", "What can I get for $50", or they say "I want something unique, like me", but they whip out their cell phone and pull up pictures from Pinterest and insist that they must have the same exact tattoo in the same place as the picture on the Internet. (Imagine having that same conversation 50 times a day....you weren't the first person that got that cute feather tattoo exploding into birds, or stars or whatever that day...)

I have heard countless times from various artists advising against BAD DECISIONS from CUSTOMERS and the response is "I don't care I want it, can you do it for less money?" I have heard artists give their aftercare instructions and have watched customers immediately disregard them.

To be fair sometimes these guys use foul language, have a twisted sense of humor and it can come off as unprofessional; but at the same time they need to have a way to let off steam when trying to exercise patience with people that lack basic communication skills.

If you want a tattoo and you want to be treated seriously make sure you have the day off, take a shower, leave your friends and/or your children at home, grab your government issued photo ID, withdraw cash from the bank and be prepared to discuss your ideas in a clear manner and accept the advice that the professional is giving you. I think the aforementioned should be taken into consideration when reading any negative review, because no customer likes to be told something that they don't want to hear, even if it is the truth....and I think all of us have been there at some point.

My current favorites are Bob Knox and Travis Wasko because they have no problem telling me "No".

This place is great, and the only place I'd ever wanna go to for a tattoo. They're very clean and professional and are really good about giving you breaks whenever you need one.

I went into lucky 13 today to get my Medusa done, and they guy who did it was amazing. I had another lip piercing on my bottom lip the wasn t center also I got a bad eyebrow piercing at river city and so after leaving. I came back and he was super nice and comforting. Made me feel better re did my eyebrow just the best service. Even though during my Medusa I couldn t sit still or keep my mouth open for the life of me. He still got it perfectly even. I will definitely be going back in to weeks to have him redo my bottom lip. Amazing service will always go to lucky 13 for every piercing I get. Truly amazing people. And even better service.

I went here to get my first tattoo and i loved the experience! From the get go when i walked in it felt like a really great atmosphere. Everyone who i talked to were super chill and nice. Matt did my tattoo and he did an amazing job, he was really funny and made the time go by fast. They gave me a good price on my tattoo and I will for sure be going back there to get another one!

I ve gotten several piercings from J-sin and each visit has been a great experience. He s very professional and helpful. I was nervous and he talked to me to make me feel more at ease. He was quick and it has healed beautifully.
I ve also gotten several tattoos from Angel and each one is better than the last. He was patient as I decided placement and even offered suggestions for improving the designs.
Each visit, everyone I have encountered is friendly and you can tell they love where they work. I always leave with something better than I expected walking in. I look forward to my next visit!

One of the girl who was doing the piercings she was very rude she was not welcoming.

Went to Lucky 13 to get my nipples pierced. Iain was amazing. I honestly was scared to death because a friend of mine had gone somewhere else and she said the pain was awful. Iain was hilarious, super nice, and not only did an amazing job but it was quick and painless. I definitely recommend going to see him for any piercings. Totally loved him!

My artist was good and I live my tattoo but only problem was quoted 150 and when tat was completed I was charged 200 please get quote in writing. Cause I had planned to tip my artist 20 but when charged 50 more tjan quoted then I had nothing left to tip.

I went into Lucky 13 with a friend from work and we had some piercings done. She had her nose done and I had 5 helix piercings done, 3 on one ear and 2 on the other. Nigel did all of our piercings and did really good! He talked us through the piercings and joked around with us. I felt very comfortable with him and my piercings are healing really well. And, you can't beat $20 a hole! I will definitely to be going back! I am actually going back this week to get my industrial done. The piercers and artists are a little unprofessional, but it helps you relax as long as you can take the sense of humor they have.

When I went in it s seemed great. However, I wish my tattoo artist would have been a little less angry . Seemed like a nice guy, but I felt like he didn t want me there. Paid 63 dollars for a small outline. Also, you cannot tip with a card, so bring cash.
