EHH. Thats how I feel about this course. some holes you have to walk 5 mins to the green some tee you have to walk 5 mins. I could not find balls in the middle of the fairways because of all the cotton ball floaty things. I would have to search and search for 5-10 mins for balls 6 inches off the fairway. Im so confused by this place it looks nice in pics and from far then when you get there its like someone changed the scale it feels like everything is mini and crammed. Some of the greens are just ridiculous I felt like I was playing extreme mini golf at some points. This course just feels like it wants to trick you there are some holes with trees literally right in-front of the fairway off the tee box. If you're a far hitter this place is not for you you're not going to have a good time. Try a much much better place about 20 mins west of this course.

Lost Marsh is one of the best golf courses you'll find anywhere. It isn't very long, but you better be able to keep it in play. The greens are fast enough and they roll true. Plenty of pleasant people around too. Love that place !

I have golfed many rounds at Lost Marsh and love the course. I wanted to bring an out of town family member who is a golfer to play a round. When I called them to ask if they have clubs available Kenny hung up. I called back thinking it was a mistake and got a click again. A third time another rude hang up. Thanks Kenny! I won t be coming back. Plenty of golf courses asking for business in Chicago.

Went to the restaurant there. The food was very good, if a little pricey but still within reason. I had the Lake Perch, wonderful, $28. Fish n' Chips others had looked good, $17. Specials were very nice, not much of a wine list. Terrific chocolate cake, $6.

Course in great shape! Go in morning the outlook over the lake and course is amazing. Hats off to the designer, tradesmen and staff for a landmark to serve NW Indiana for years to come.

Fun but challenging course. Great staff. They looked after a couple of pull carts that our group left behind after a round & we had no trouble retrieving them later on. Would definitely return to play again as it's pretty close to Chicago and easy to get to all things considered.

Great facility. Wonderful staff. The course is in phenomenal shape including their youth course. Younger family members really enjoy coming to play the smaller course. Really accommodating to kids working on their golf skill.

In addition to being a wonderful golf course, very well maintained and challenging, the staff is also great! I dropped my putter cover in front nine, they found it and delivered to me while I was playing the back nine. Thank you again!

Showed up for tee time early. Let attendant know my group was newer. Tee time 10am and group behind us came up to us at 10:04 on tees. We let them go ahead anyways, and yet another group was behind us again. They didn t keep up with their scheduled slots and it made it a really bad experience for all of us. Although we were on time and on pace, we had a ranger watching our swings for the middle holes like he was a babysitter. Didn t leave us alone even though, yes, we were on pace. That group was allowed to golf 20 minutes sooner and were on our green as we were going which made the rest of our experience unpleasant, then had the nerve to tell us off. So many golf courses nearby, and our group won t be coming back. PS- beer girl was phenomenal and I m sorry to her that we wanted to have another but couldn t because of our babysitter so these older men could swing sooner than their scheduled time.

Food is excellent. Service attentive. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Great views of City and neighbor area (restaurant sits on top of a hill). Lobster ravioli is delicious. Small menu but everything on it is done well. Nice selection of wines and locally crafted beers.

Wanted to walk, they wouldn t let us walk. Then they wouldn t let us get our (2 of us) own carts (even though we were the third group off and there were TONS of carts ready to go, and we were willing to pay for them. And a single right in front of us played on his own in his own cart). We were trying to be cautious due to COVID and have family members who are in at risk groups, so sharing carts with people outside my family is not an option. Didn t show anything on the site that said walking wasn t allowed, and there are prices on the site with separate cart fees, implying walking is an option. Left instead of caving to the argumentative pro shop staff member and starter.

Would have most likely been a multiple time customer as the course looked decent, but won t be back again. Dumb policy and inflexible. Hope the lost greens fees and future lost greens fees were worth it for them.

Very disappointed with the condition of the greens for the money here. I've golfed here numerous times over the last few years and have spoken highly of it in the past as well as referred friends and family to play here for a beautiful challenging course. If you're going to charge $70 for a green fee players shouldn't have to walk up to every green covered with unrepaired ball marks. I would advise to play a different course for the money. Other than the greens the course was in great shape. I don't have a problem paying higher green fees for a nicer course, but I won't be back at that price to see if they've improved these greens.

I do not plan on golfing here again. First time golfing here, even though a lifelong NW Indiana resident. My friend and I were paired up with two others we did not know. Not a big deal-been there/done that before. This time one of the others hit my ball by mistake. I asked about it, and he was indignant. It happened 2 more times on front 9. I reported it to staff after he became belligerent. Tried to separate ourselves from the other 2, but staff said we couldn't. We decided to just ignore them and play the last 9. The other 2 became more belligerent and deliberately hit one of our balls. We reported to staff after 18 holes were done. Staff stated "sorry you had a poor experience." All I wanted was to have a nice day golfing, but staff was unwilling to separate us from the problem that they paired us up with.

Not a bad place to play, but the driving range needs work. The guy shut down 10 mins early when there was a lot of people still hitting. Sucks when you bring your 9 year old, and then they close while you are still smashing the balls.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. It's not a log course but still challenging with the water on a number of holes. Overall condition of the course was excellent. Beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright inspired club house.

Like the course, love the front 9. a little rough condition yesterday but am sure that will improve as season gets going (?). Hate the sparse and VERY poor location of porta potties (two holes before clubhouse? Lame. How about halfway between 1 & 9 and also 10 & 18?)

Hole 1 - 6 are as close to TPC Chicago as we can get, fun but extremely challenging golf course if the wind is blowing. Back drop of Whiting steel plants make it special just outside the city

A real gem of a golf course. Very challenging, great shape, very affordable green fees. The staff was over -the-top friendly. Worth the short drive from Chicago, look for this course on the top public courses in the local area!

The course is always in good condition and staffs are always nice and helpful. Some low ratings are just not fair. For one, if you are not a single handicap you are not allow to play the tips period. It is a difficult course from the tips even it is not not long. Long wait sometimes due to busy day.

The starter was a grumpy man who pulled something I had never before heard at a PUBLIC course. When we walked up to the black tees on #1 he asked us "if we were single digit handicaps". We said 'no' and he went on to say "Then you can't play from the black tees". Thinking he was joking around, I went to tee up and he repeated in a stern, annoyed voice "I said you cannot play from the black tees". We asked the group ahead of us, also playing from the tips, if he pulled the same thing on them and they said no. Safe to say I won't be recommending this course to any one. Paid $70 to go out there on Saturday AM. It is not like the course is 7400 yards, and it wasn't backed up. Ridiculous.

Never write reviews because my friends and I are not hard to please when it comes to golf. Course conditions were great and proshop/beverage cart were professional, but the heavier older starter with the mustache is not professional at all. We were on the tee 15 minutes before our scheduled time and he started yelling "hurry up, tee off already". Also, when we were looking to return our carts and asked him where to return it he responded horribly and said "where the "big" green sign says obviously". We didn't see it, hence why we asked. We didn't drive over an hour from Chicago and pay $70.00 for some starter to give us attitude for no reason.

Had a great time-really interesting, well conditioned course-staff great, clubhouse food excellent. Played in about 4 :10 -Easy to find just off Skyway-You will lose golf balls as there is a lot of water

Count the carts in the pic. There s 6 if you look closely. I m on the course as I m writing this. We re 3 hours in on hole 10. 10-20 minute wait for every shot. And the ranger simply does nothing but chat and hold play up.

Won t come back here again. Which is a shame because it s actually a nice course and facility - that s the only reason it gets 2 stars instead of 1. The owner doesn t care either, his replies to any negative reviews are: hope to give you a 5-star experience next time! There won t be a next time for us.
