Lomonte's Italian Restaurant and Bar Review

We love going to Lomontes. The food, the atmosphere, and always great service. Christopher took care of us last night and he made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. The food was delicious. We started with calamari which was so tasty and fresh. I enjoyed mussels and a salad for my dinner and my husband had chicken parmigiana. We both truly enjoyed our meals. We are blessed to live just down the street from Lomontes and can't wait to go back.

I got the Shrimp Diablo and my boyfriend got the chicken alfredo. The Shrimp Diablo was okay, the noodles were cooked properly but the sauce needed a little something. I'm not sure what it is, maybe some freshness? Overall, the restaurant is adorable and service was good! I would give this place a four out of five

Ordered delivery. Ordered the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was stuffed pretty well with lobster and the sauce was a cream one that was good, not great. I also had the tiramasu which wasa really good. The order was delivered super fast and the packaging was good, the containers were wrapped in plastic wrap to avoid spillage.

Good service and food - a little noisy but pretty typical for must restaurants these days! Our table was warm but possibly because we were near a wall.....

Intimate for a cozy dinner, or just a GNO, yummy lemoncello and fabulous dishes!

Great salad and pasta. Good cozy romantic atmosphere. Big pasta portions, I always have leftovers for the next day.

Italian is not my favorite. The food was fine, but I have had Italian I liked better.

I love eating here!!! Been eating here for over 30 years. Barbie and her wait staff are the best!!! Cody and Johnny are excellent and professional. They helped me celebrate my husband's 50th and it was a surprise!!! I love you Barbie! !!!

Very relaxed, old World, up scale feeling with attentive service and great wine and food options. Food is made to order, fresh, and able to be changed to your personal liking. If planning your outing here, make a reservations just in case. However, weekday walk-in is likely.

Food is good, but nothing special for the price. Service was good as well.

Other than my husband's fettuccine Alfredo, which is essentially pasta and cheese, none of the food we ordered came out fresh. Our appetizer, Mussels Blanco, smelled overly-fishy. The white whine sauce was inexplicably gelatinous and it tasted old. I'll just come out and say it, the mussels and the sauce stunk. I've cooked with mussels, clams, and crab and many different kinds of fish so I know I'm not over-exaggerating or speaking out of ignorance. My grandfather was a second generation Italian immigrant as well so I have a strong sense of Italian flavors and I know when shellfish has gone bad. My entree "Lamonte's famous garden salad" was all wilted leaves and sogginess in my bowl. The chicken I ordered was overcooked and tasted like boiled oregano. Very pricey restaurant for such sub-par food. I would never bring my family here and my husband and I will not go back. The servers were very attentive but what is good service with bad food, really? I don't know what kind of recipes they are using or what kind of policy they have on storing vegetables but I am actually offended to have paid for such disgusting food. Maybe I'll laugh about it later, however, as I have just left the restaurant and I can still taste that awful food, I have yet to get over my frustration.

Ordered for delivery for the first time today and the food was SO GOOD. We will definitely be ordering again and visiting the restaurant soon!

Awesome food and service every time in this family style Italian restaurant. 31 years in business for very good reasons.

Edit: I'm baffled by the number of cars I always see at Olive Garden on higheay 6 when Lomonte's is just right up the road. It's like there's a preference for Chef Boyardee over really good Italian cooking. Or - people settle for OG, believing that's what Italian food is and I can assure you it's really the McDonald's of Italian food.

I had dinner there as a part of our office meeting. It was sponsored, so i am not aware of the price. Their steak is good. The dessert is amazing- I took chocolate lava cake.

An exquisite dining experience! Best salmon ever! I asked if they could cook it medium rare and it was perfect. Huge portion, artichokes, roasted red pepper, capers in a divine lemony sauce. Service was spot on. Wish I lived here, it would be my go-to Italian favorite.

The Crab Stuffed Salmon is good if you get it...The next best option is the Snapper with Shrimp...

This is like going to eat at your Italians family house. Price is high compared to few others but is good. The experience is very unique. Ravioli is good.

Food and service were excellent. Inside was a bit loud, so we sat outside as the weather was perfect for it.

This was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time! It was a special date night for us and we were served with beyond excellent service! The owner Barbie came to greet us and took photos with us. She made recommendations for dinner and it was delicious! We started with an appetizer, then one of the best house salads we have ever had, and the entrees were excellent! Not to mention they had live music on the patio playing many of our favorite songs! Being my first visit, I'm always a bit skeptical of a restaurant, usually assuming the worst of most Restaurants...

Though fortunately I was pleasantly surprised with excellent service, fantastic food, and incredibly attentive wait staff. I say incredibly attentive because usually when I eat at a restaurant with an average meal costing $20 I "occasionally" receive refills on my drink. I was absolutely impressed by the amount of times my drink glass was checked and refilled. Very subtle, and quiet, my glass was always full. Especially impressive because the glass of water I was drinking was what I would consider half the size of a normal glass, thus needing refills much more frequently.

Down to the good stuff, the food. Whenever I visit a new Italian Restaurant I like to try a traditional dish to measure how creative a particular location is with a generic recipe. For me the dish is Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Typically most Italian Restaurant do a respectable job at preparing this dish, staying close to the generic recipe. However, Lomonte's Fettuccine was absolutely fantastic, unique, and flavorful. One particular part of the dish I was especially impressed with was how the chicken was prepared. Usually long strips, grilled and sparse, Lomonte's Fettuccine was a generous portion of chicken, diced, and lightly grilled. Nearly every bite I took, had a good chunk of chicken. In fact after completely finishing the pasta, still I had chunks of chicken left over!

On a side the bread was fresh (served before the meal), butter plentiful, and atmosphere perfect.

If you're looking for a fresh Italian Restaurant to try, do not pass this one up, it's a small place, but absolutely worth a visit.

One of the best Italians restaurants I ve ever been to the service was phenomenal from the moment I opened the doors I was greeted by the owner and staff. My business partner and I were sat immediately and the service was greatly anticipated I never had to ask my server for anything before it was offered. This place is a must go to

Friendly service on patio. Over priced. $27 lunch: bread/garlic/oil, small Caesar salad, tea and spagehtti/meatballs, 15% tip. Good but not THAT good.

Absolutely superb in all respects. Did take out because of virus. Packages for my pickup were professionaly prepared. Serving size traditional more than you can eat Italian. MANGIA! MANGIA! Sauces were excellent. Not a single demerit on entire meal.

I had lunch here the other day with the good friend. The cannelloni was excellent. We also got the fried ravioli as an appetizer, and that was very good as well. Look forward to coming back.

Love the atmosphere and the servers are exceptional. However, the peppered steak was, well... pretty bad. How someone can make a bland and tasteless pepper steak is beyond me. All it needs is pepper!!! Not to mention it seemed like a really mediocre cut of meat. Steakhouses are a big thing here in Texas I've noticed so there is no excuse for a bad one. If you can't cook one right, spice it correctly, or afford proper quality cuts; then please, take it off the menu. Anyway, with ALL of that being said my wife's scallops were delicious, as were the pastas that we tried. So I'm definitely willing to return, just a little wiser next time with my choices. Consistently good food and service. A few more beer choices would be a welcome sight but the wine selection is very extensive. Barbie (the owner) is always welcoming and a really nice person.

Let me start off by addressing you directly. From owner, all the way down to chefs: Y'all killed it, and I apologize for this review being so late.

2 months ago I had my wedding dinner here. We had family from New York/Jersey in town (so they know something about Italian food), family from Austin, and friends from the area. I can NOT stress enough, to anyone reading this, how good the food was. Truly something to be experienced, and EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of our party was impressed by the food. The wine was delicious, the cuisine was tasteful and flavorful, and you, the staff, were perfect.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and you can rest easy knowing that no matter how far someone has to drive to get to your eatery, that I will suggest it as THE go to Italian place.

Loved the atmosphere! Cozy & quaint. Service was really great, so friendly and such a high level of service. The cheesy garlic bread is dangerous! Lol we almost ordered a 2nd loaf. All of the food was delicious even the cheesecake that we had for desert at home.

Wonderful atmosphere. The food was very good, reasonably priced and served very timely. We did not feel at all rushed. Portions are extremely generous.

Outstanding Italian food! I went with my go to Italian meal, Chicken Parmigiana. Sauce was delicious, pasta cooked just right, and two large pieces of absolutely delicious chicken. Can't wait to eat the leftovers.

I travel ALOT! Found this gem of a place. First was good bread with quality olive oil. I had shrimp scampi with great artichoke hearts! My wife had the veal, very tasty and melt in your mouth tender. Decided to try the Tiramisu - FANTASTIC!! Best since finding the best in Atlanta of all places! Miguel was an excellent server. had a Cappuccino to end the meal, while very good was not 5 star. Would definitely go again! all this plus a bottle of Prosecco for under $100.00!!!
If you are an Italian connoisseur this place is a must!

Lomontes in the energy corridor is a very interesting place with delicious food, good service, and unique atmosphere. The main restaurant usually requires a reservation, its smaller dining space is quaint and cozy. The bar area offers some nice secluded sections for seating that are a bit more romantic, though they have the typical tv with sports playing it's more of a background feel and not the main attraction. Then there is an outside patio seating area where they have live music. It's small and intimate but some families bring kids there and depending upon the day and hour it's less date night and more family time outside.
The food is delicious, I had the lasagna which is a favorite for good reason. my wife had the chicken florentine which was full of flavor with the lemon, white wine, butter and basil sauce that is out of this world good.
Service in the bar area is slower than other parts of the restaurant which is expected and no knock on the staff, they still give you good service.
My wife had a Texas mule in this tin cup which I thought was cool butand said its usually served that way, she really liked it though. Wine selection is not overly extensive but decent, I had a good CA cab that was smooth and easy. Overall it's one of my favorite date night and impress customer lunch spots and a can't miss.

First experience here was the best! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and taken to our table and served fresh bread. The waiters and other staff members assisted very well throughout the dinner & managed to let us know about menu item specials going on. The appetizers, main entrees, and dessert were very delicious. Lomonte s is now one of my favorite, recommended places in the area.

Nice location but the room can get load. The eggplant Parma was great the chicken Francesco was dry and chewy.

The atmosphere here is good for a date night, however the restaurant is small so you should make a reservation. I enjoyed my drink (cosmo Lamonte s), the Italian bread, and house salad, and most of all the cheesecake for desert! The service was also prompt and attentive. However the dinner itself want my favorite. I had the red snapper and shrimp with pesto cream sauce special (I know that ordering specials are in general a bad idea but I frequently do it anyway). I think it would have been better with a standard non-creamy pesto sauce but maybe that s just me. The fish was drowning in the sauce which wasn t that appealing to me. Secondly, my husband had the lasagna which he thought was only ok. However, he couldn t explain what exactly he didn t like about it. We might give it another try since the prices were reasonable, plus the cheesecake was the best!
