It's a new venture for the owner Laura a lovely kind and helpful person, who greets everyone with a lovely smile and warm welcome, the coffe was gorgeous and the food was very nice also, it's a great place to make a little stop when you just need a break or fancy a good cuppa, I wish Laura every success for the future

Not the most promising location, if you look at what's nearby on the map but the friendly service and lovely cakes and coffee more than made up for it. You can sit outside and watch narrowboats going through the lock, hence the name. A real "find" in cafes.

Great place, great staff, lovely coffee and cake at reasonable prices. Picked the hottest day of the year to stop. Beautiful spot watching the canal boats navigate the lock. Highly recommended

Excellent food and coffee in a slightly quirky (in a good way) but warm and welcoming environment has made this place a favourite of mine. We love the rugs and spacious seating.
Charming owner goes the extra mile to please and makes perfect porridge with a lovely smile.
Excellent wheelchair access and easy access loo.
DOG FRIENDLY ...Hooray!
The only spoiler is unusual and unpredictable opening hours ., but these are now better displayed.
Eclectic clientele.
Everything locally sourced and cooked on the premises.
Exterior decking with tables on two sides of the property has views of locks, boats' brook and cattle. Dining out recommended in fine weather.

Found this place driving somewhere else..... Very relaxed and quirky, loved it! It's very inviting inside and you can sit out and look at the view or go for a walk nearby. Staff are very friendly. Recommend the broccoli and Cheshire cheese soup!

Although not yet open, the very charming lady running the Coffee House was very willing to make me a loose leaf tea in a pot, served with an apology for not having any food in. I will return soon even though it is a long way out of my way.

Lovely place with comfy seating and nice atmosphere. The food was delicious although took quite a long time. The dessert options were a little too 'rustic' for my Granny, (avocado cake anyone?) so we had to go elsewhere but altogether a nice experience. Would go there again, especially on a nice day. Sausage butty was particularly good.
