This longstanding Italian restaurant might not get the same fevered hype as the recent wave of upstarts, but there s no substitute for years of refinement and quiet confidence. As tempting as it must ve been, don t stuff yourself with the excellent bread basket. Starters of two perfectly cooked pasta dishes and the freshest squid you can imagine. The mains were roasted sea bream, roasted fillet of pork, and a roasted grouse served rare as hens teeth. Absolutely stunning in their perfection. We skipped dessert as we were cutting a birthday cake; but I had little doubt that they would ve been divine.

Food was good, not great. Service was sub par, especially given the price and area. Examples: red wine was hot (not warm or room temp, or even 18C as is supposed to be). Sommelier was surprised and refused to chill it ($100USD bottle) because it was decanted. Sat for 20 minutes after the final receipt was sent to us. Sent it with the credit card, and they ran us down afterwards saying that we didn't pay? Strange. Far better options are available. I was convinced by the other reviews, but I say visitor beware.

Uninspired, uninspiring Italian food that certainly doesn't deserve its Michelin star and the price tag that goes with it.
The dishes were all perfectly executed but lacked flair and presentation, had no complexity in flavour and texture and were pretty much standard Italian fare that you would expect to pay much less for in a normal, unpretentious restaurant.
As mentioned, setting is on the formal and stuffy side, yet the service was neither particularly attentive nor eventufl. We weren't asked for allergies at the beginning of the meal, our first course was served despite the fact people were missing from the table, dishes weren't presented with any explanation of the concept, recipe or ingredients (not that they needed to - again uninspired and uninspiring).
Deserts were the only redeeming feature, probably because they were a bit more elaborate and adventurous than the rest of the dishes.
Probably the least deserved Michelin star I've been to, and only served to reinforce my belief that good Italian food is best eaten at a family-run restaurant in Italy, or right in my kitchen.
Sinceramente avrei potuto fare di meglio io...

For reference, our party of 3 all agreed each dishe was well executed technically, but didn't elicit any emotion, had zero "wow factor" and was easily forgettable, save for the deserts (comparatively speaking). We had:
- maltagliati alla zucca
- pappardelle al rugo di lepre
- spaghetti alla chitarra e polpo
- orata
- coda di rospo
- cervo
- millefoglie di banana e noci
- crema di limone

I celebrated my birthday with my family, we ate very well, impeccable service, excellent wine, but the difference was made by the waitress who, while serving us, heard that it was my birthday and at the end of the dinner she presented herself with the dish written "happy birthday", a candle and pastry. The class is not water. Absolutely honest value for money, considering the location and the stars. I'll be back

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We took two great appetizers,
One of land and one of sea. I wanted to try the
Linguina with scampi, curious to understand if it was also excellent for an Italian and demanding customer like me, well it didn't disappoint. Even sorbets are perfect! Friendly service but not set up. I can't wait to go back. Thanks.

Superb food. Great atmosphere. Expensive, but hard to argue with value given what you are brought and the manner in which it is served. Another recent reviewer complained that they had a lobster claw in their pasta dish - this was not a mistake by the restaurant, it is garnish for the dish.

We have been there today. Food is on top quality but cooked too 'heavy', too savoury and oily, more common for restaurant of medium or low level, for sure you don't expect from Locatelli. Not the best italian restaurant i have been. A bit disappointed

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in town. Home-made pastas, delicious breads with olive oil on the house, mains that never disappointed me - the food here is great. And the price is actually honest considering the level. Service is More

Staff five stars; food one. Perfect Booking, welcome, service, passion and professionalism from all the staff. Carrot salad with Bottarga had a throat-catching bitterness verging on stomach acid. The lobster linguine, the sweetness and subtlety of tomato ketchup.

Prestigious location but quite simply over priced. The quality is quite average but STG 25 for pasta and 35 for main course, no. The waiters are all Italian an ham up the Italian part for the clients. Only go if you are on expenses.

Great atmosphere, uniformed & professional service, busy but intimate, filled with very soft light. The food here, not to mention the wine list, is outstanding as always and the portions are quite generous. It s impressing how they can put the simplest ingredients and making them taste divine! Probably the London s top Italian.

Ok, this place is just fabulous! If you like to taste a really delicious Italian food, it is the right place! Gluten free almost anything and some adjustments to the dish if you ask. The service, atmosphere and the food was great. Best enjoyed in a family circle. Honestly, I don't even remember interior design, because it is all about the food and the company you are in, enjoy!

Being a foodie from New York City - most restaurants outside of the city tend to not impress, however Loconda Locatelli was absolutely delicious! We had 10:45 pm reservations, which meant we were one of the last people in the restaurant, however service was impeccable!

Now on to the food!

For appetizers, we had the burratta dish - which was the freshest, softest mozzarella I've ever had. We also had the summer salad as well as the green bean salad with shaved truffles - delish!

For Dinner - I had the special - which was homemade spaghetti noodles in a red sauce with TUNA MEATBALLS. The tuna was cooked just right, so as not to be too overcooked or too raw - the pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce had a bit of a kick to it, so it was a nice and a tad spicy.

My dining mates had the burratta ravioli (delish!), another pasta with red sauce and ricotta cheese and the lamb. All divine!

For dessert we had the cannoli with pistachio ice cream (really good!), and the watermelen jelly/sorbet - which wasn't really for me but it was interesting nonetheless.

It happened to be my b'day - and the waiters brought by macaroon cookies with a candle, as well as homemade marshmallows and choocolate truffles.

so good - i recommend you go if you like high end/real italian fare! just make sure to make a reservation

This restaurant is the real deal and deserves its Michelin star, not only for the excellence of the ingredients and the culinary expertise but the fact it does some real regional cooking such as pasta cime di rapa. Wonderful tiramisu and some great wines, at a price.

I like the interior, it is elegant, but also quite cosy. With my husband, we usually go there on Friday - around 7pm. The restaurant is open till 23:30, so we have enough time to order and enjoy both main course and a dessert.
I usually order the "Cheesecake alla vaniglia, gelatina alla violetta, sorbetto alla fragola", because one of my favourite types of desserts is the cheesecake.

Dear Mr. Giorgio Locatelli,

Dear Mr. Giorgio Locatelli,
A lot of smoke and little roast, right place for Londoners, in fact it was full of them because they understand little about it.
Impeccable service, very kind staff, perfect location and warm welcome.

For her who was a Masterchef judge, if they had presented her lobster linguine and roast mackerel with dried onions, she would have taken the plate and thrown it.
If your restaurant has 1 star, my friend Burkhart Bacher from Vipiteno should have 3.
And last, but not least, if one books for 7.30pm at 9pm, he has to leave room for the phone-holder, where are we? From Burger King?
Always available

Outrageously overpriced. Ordered a starter of scrambled eggs with white truffle on top, and the dish almost made me throw up. The main course was some pasta with chicken liver. It was palatable, but nothing great at all. The only good thing about the food was the bread basket that they gave initially. Service was also not great. Ordered tea and it came without milk. Asked them to get milk and they took some ten minutes for that. Guess they were finding a cow to milk in the meanwhile.

Customer service lower than that of a pizzeria. Restaurant booked 2 weeks in advance for business dinner with lots of credit card details. 2 days before, I call the reservation service specifying that I can only stay until 9 because they have booked other customers later. I point out that I had not been warned and that the guests come from outside on purpose for dinner. They tell me that "they will do their best" but there are no guarantees. Approximate and unbecoming behavior. I can not comment on the kitchen but the service is not up to a starred restaurant.

Very poor meal, really dissapointing. Start to finish, rude staff that just stood around joking and talking while I waited for my order to be taken. The prices seamed expensive for what was on offer but it does have a star so I thought it should be good enough to warrant the 15/20% higher price tag than what you should really be paying for pasta......... So many bread types it was overwhelming, and way to much of it. I ordered the black truffle and gnocchi, and just couldn't even finish it to be polite. Truffle and gnocchi is something you should have once a year and is so simple and should always be a treat, but this was just swimming in brown butter. Replacement dish was poor also. So I left without finishing. So dissapointing as this was the first Michelin starred restaurant I ate at 11 years ago, and had real found memories of the place and the chef. As his book is still my favourite. Maybe the food has gone down hill or I just know alot more now than I did back then. Real shame, felt like one of those 'you should never meet you idol moments'.

Impeccable services, average food. Over rated, over priced, over pretentious. Scallop ravioli was okay. Not much else to say, spend your money elsewhere. Full of wealthy Arabians who don't know the first thing about Italian food.

This was a long awaited dream for me as I have been a massive ran of georgios for years and years. What a treat! My husband and I booked for our anniversary and I was a bit worried that the meal might not be as special as I hoped as we are lucky enough to have had some fantastic meals in Italy.I should have known better-the whole experience was fantastic, amazing.friendly service and a really chilled atmosphere, was just like a posh restaurant in Italy and we could have sat there all day!Hopefully we'll make it back soon.

Amazing experience in one of the most beautiful restaurants you can find in London.
It's not about the view or the location itself, it's all about the simplicity and how you can see and feel that every single course is cooked with love. The service is attentive and engaging, and the food is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommended are the scallops, the maltagliati and the rabbit with polenta, as they really express the deepest italian culinary tradition, and made me remind of my roots in a very emotional way.

I thought that the dishes sounded and looked much better than they tasted unfortunately. I really liked the chestnut soup though. Dessert was a disappointed, with a coffee meringue that tasted strongly of synthetic coffee flavouring.

Flawless food and fantastic service but at such a ridiculous price I can't find a way to feel good about it afterwards. Maybe it's also because I feel Italian food should be rustic, cheap and dirty so the clash was felt more strongly.

Locanda Locatelli is really a piece of Italy overseas. The restaurant is beautiful and well-kept. The kind and not too invasive staff: a perfect mix of elegance and conviviality typical of our country. As for the menu, I must say that everything is good and not overly complex: simple but well made and well cared for basic things. The price, considered London, is in line. The fifth star is for him: the Chef. Good boy!!

The service was great our waitress Ashan ( I hope it s spelled right) was really nice, so attentive she made our dinner perfect!
The staff is really professional, everyone with the smile on their face.
We also met Chef Giorgio Locatelli, what a humble person, he was really nice and polite!
We will definitely came back!
