Been here for few events and it's great to see an art centre in Mississauga with good facilities. The centre is in immaculate condition all the time even though they keep the doors open for everyone to walk thru it.

You will occasionally see wedding photos being taken here as well.

Great performance inside a great venue, Hammerson Hall. Being here stirred up some emotionally nostalgic feelings because this is the same stage that I walked across 10+ years ago when I graduated from Sheridan College.
Adding to these emotions was the remembering of the time in the grand lobby with my Father back then when he was purchasing the Graduation memorabilia like Photos and Frames for my Diploma and Certificate for us. I was his first child to graduate from Post-Secondary school.
Back to the recent experience, all was good until the end of the show when I was on the wait out. I got to meet the Director and then, just seconds after, one of the Ushers expressed concern to the Director over a culturally sensitive gesture which was portrayed in the Performance. I think the Usher should have been more considerate about when and how to express this concern to the Director... not in front of all the nearby Patrons, at least.

We went to see Louie Anderson, a comedian. One person in the audience, clearly drunk, was extremely obnoxious. The staff were very quick about removing this person from the audience. I was impressed with their actions.

I happened to overhear management talking back to their staff over a minor issue over something wrong they did. You don't do that where customers are present. Sorry that is just poor management etiquette... especially for a place that is run by the city. The show was very entertaining !! Bathrooms could have been cleaner.

This venue has everything from evening shows, to weekend activities, and smaller scale vendor shows/sales, or even visiting for some work training on the upper levels. It's very easy to visit, you can park across the street at Square One. I have always liked visiting LAC, because it is always clean, and feels like home.

Beautiful, well maintained facility. Staff is friendly and helpful. Be aware that, at least the night I was there (in January), folks were not permitted to wear or take their coats into the theatre (this policy may now be under review). There is a complimentary coat check, however, although you may feel moved to make a donation to the community group that is operating it. Aside from that quibble, the venue was comfortable, acoustics good, and sightlines very satisfactory, at least from my seat on the right side of the orchestra.

Great place with lot of things happening. Love the selection of activities for both kids and adults here.

Great summer camps with good staff. Parking under ground is very easy to access and available most of the tones when we go for kids activities.

Rent is a bit pricey but for a place like Mississauga it's definitely above par workers and a place suitable for concerts and performances. Workers are trained and the centre is versatile and multi-purpose.

I love this place! It is in the perfect location with underground parking and lots of other parking surrounding it. Lots of restaurants close by to grab a meal pre show...they even have their own restaurant, Live. The shows are very good and they have the large Hammerson hall and the smaller RBC theatre. I love that they also host many activities for the various festivals that the city hosts.
When my kids were younger, we attended many community programs here as well...dance, musical theatre camp, etc.

A Caution to Parents

A Caution to Parents

My wife and I, along with our two-year old, attended the November 23rd performance for Sesame Street: C is for Celebration at the Living Arts Centre.

The day we purchased tickets, we called the box office to find out the policy with toddlers/infants and were told that we could buy a "baby ticket" in advance for $5 or pay $2 at the door for the same ticket.

We called once more leading up to the event to confirm this policy, and we were told the same thing. We consulted an usher that we know personally and she confirmed a second time.

Great! We thought. We'll pay the $2 and everything is a-okay.

Fast forward to the day of the show. We show up at the box office and are told that they are sold out of baby tickets, and that if we want our child to attend, will need to pay $20. Are you kidding me?

Not once was the "limited quantity" of the baby tickets disclosed to us via email or telephone, despite our inquiries. And how are they sold out if I can still buy one for a 1000% price increase? Honest to God gouging by this venue, and I shudder to think how many parents paid this fee not knowing what else to do.

Fortunately, we complained and spoke to a manager, and were given a "baby ticket" free of charge.

Doubt we will ever attend another event at the LAC.

Parents, watch out.

Wonderful designed space, not as big as it appears on the seating chart. The line for drinks was too long, they need more service counters. The sound was good although I think the mid-ranges were lost in favour to a slightly tinny aspect from the upper harmonics and an occasionally overwhelming bass.

Very nice venue. Friendly staff. Only problem I have is that for the free overnight parking they don't specify the hours or have them easily accessible and the garage gets locked overnight. So be careful parking here because you'll have to wait for a staff member to open up, which sucks if you have to be at work for 7 am.

About Living Arts Centre

The Living Arts Centre: Promoting Art and Culture for Over 20 Years

The Living Arts Centre (LAC) is a not-for-profit organization located in the heart of Mississauga's City Centre. For over 20 years, it has been promoting the arts, supporting local artists, and showcasing talent from around the world. The LAC is a hub for creativity and culture, offering art courses, camps for kids, and performing arts events that provide entertainment to the community.

The LAC was established in 1997 with a mission to enrich lives through arts education and cultural experiences. Since then, it has become one of Canada's largest multidisciplinary art centres with six performance venues including theatres, recital halls, an exhibition space as well as studios for visual arts classes.

One of the unique features of LAC is its commitment to supporting local artists by providing them with opportunities to showcase their work. The centre also hosts exhibitions featuring works by emerging artists from across Canada.

In addition to promoting local talent, LAC also brings in renowned performers from around the world. From classical music concerts to contemporary dance performances and theatre productions - there is always something happening at LAC that caters to all tastes.

Apart from hosting performances and exhibitions throughout the year; LAC offers various programs designed for people of all ages who are interested in learning about different forms of art or honing their skills. These programs include visual arts classes such as painting or drawing lessons; music lessons on instruments like piano or guitar; dance classes ranging from ballet to hip hop; theatre workshops where participants can learn acting techniques or stagecraft skills - just to name a few!

For children aged between 4-14 years old; there are summer camps available which offer an immersive experience into various forms of art such as painting & drawing camp where they can explore their creativity while having fun! There are also specialized camps like musical theatre camp where kids can learn singing & dancing while preparing for a final performance at end-of-camp showcase.

LAC's commitment towards making art accessible extends beyond its walls too! It partners with schools across Peel Region offering educational programming that integrates curriculum-based learning with artistic expression. This initiative helps students develop critical thinking skills while fostering creativity through hands-on activities related to different forms of art.

In conclusion; The Living Arts Centre has been an integral part of Mississauga's cultural landscape since its inception over two decades ago. Its dedication towards promoting local talent alongside bringing international performers makes it stand out among other Canadian multidisciplinary centres. With its diverse range of programs catering people belonging different age groups & interests - there truly is something here for everyone!
