LIU Brooklyn is a melting pot of so many unique cultures, gotta love it!
The Best private University in the metro-area!

I loved this university as over here professor care about you and you will actually learn everything as professors will teach you. Here you do not have to do everything on your own, you jut have to read the notes and attend all the lectures regularly and you will be good and will learn.

The advisers are rude and horrible here, this is the WORST and VERY EXPENSIVE University and it's definitely the worst place for education even for adult learners.

I have loved everything about this university.
I made some crazy good memories with some crazy good friends. I had the opportunity to meet some of the finest professors in the field of pharmacy over here. One of the legends that I got to met was Dr.Almas Babar. He has been teaching in this university for as long as I have walked this planet and he is an amazingly awesome teacher. I would highly recommend this university for pursuing pharmacy related studies.

I went to LIU in 1969. My experience was awesome. Great Nursing Program. Fabulous Basketball team. Experienced and very smart professors.

Thank you Liu for ruining my college experience. Bathrooms are worst than a McDonald's public restroom. I've seen roaches in the stalls many times. Computers are dirty. I suggest bringing latex gloves if you want to type a paper. Financial aid is a joke here. How dare you charge ridiculous amounts of money for mediocre education and expect students to pay it in six months? They clearly are out of touch with the communities and backgrounds of their students. Most of us are not rich! That's why we are seeking college educations. Duh. I am at the poverty line with 3 children and still have a balance of $8000 after financial aid. That would never at a cuny. Professors are just as miserable as the students. The list goes on and on...

I will say this. I do think it was quite expensive and should have been less than it charged. However, I was in the Master's program. All my professors graduated from Ivy league institutions. They were great and i felt lucky to have been instructed by them. I graduated from a big 10 school in Undergrad, and LIU professors ranked wonderful with me. That was my experience.

Professors and TA are really nice. However, school equipments are almost awful. "Library" are not library. Just a nasty, noisy space with some books, almost like cafeteria. Eating, talking, singing and doing anything kids wanna do.

I wish I could give it a 0 star. Worst school ever. The education is trash. Don't even think about going here. You'll be sorry. My son had weeks to graduation and was removed from the physical therapy program due to BullS... -- BIG MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!! Worst piece of trash people on the planet!

Overpriced, sociology and philosophy professors pushing their own agenda, teaching lies without fact checking, teaching their own version of history. You don't learn biology, you just copy notes for 45 minutes, admissions department promises financial aid without checking financial department. Financial department doesn't help first time students or explain the financial process. You will be stuck with a huge bill at the end of each semester and the school refuses to help with finance or classes.

Please listen to the bad reviews about this school . They set you up for failure and take your money. Please go to a CUNY or community college instead! Disgusting staff, faculty, and environment. The library has dirty computers from like 2004, and keyboards are missing keys. The IT department is a JOKE. My blackboard has been down for a whole semester and they still have not fixed it. I wasn t able to keep track of my grades because of this and ended up getting a lower grade in my class.The professors and faculty could care less about whether you succeed or fail. I received way better service at public SUNY &CUNY schools. This school should be shut down. Please save yourself the money, stress and aggravation of going here

Is being systematically destroyed by anti-union administration which has outsourced two different categories of workers to bust their unions between 2012-2016, and is pursuing a campaign to now destroy the faculty union in Fall 2016 by hiring unqualified administrators and temps to teach its students. Shame on them!

If you like overpriced "education", rats and mice, developing mold and mushrooms in your dorm room then LIU got you covered, get the full package here at full price! You see the nice pics before you get here.. make sure you ask the students who go here before you sell your soul. In general the people are nice though!

Great school but the students there can be such a turn off! Programs there are great though. the professors are great as well. Also, it is in a beautiful environment!

Professors here are nice and always their for you when you need them. I love the appointment system for the Financial Aid office because it cuts down the wait in line by 50%. Cafeteria needs some work and it doesn't seem too healthy for people though.

Worst school ever. The education is trash. I wish I could give it a 0 star. My name is Muhammad Ishtiaque Zaman and all the professors are terrible in this school.

As of 2017-2018 enrollment dropped by 34%. ITS FOR A REASON. They don t pay the professors. The professors had 2 STRIKES outside on Flatbush ave. They got rid of half the staff, some of the best professors. Only two classes open for each COURSE, which causes the students to have minimal options when making their schedule. You ll save yourself thousands and hundred thousands of dollars of debt by AVIODING LIU. President Cline (the president of LIU) only cares about her salary and giving herself raises, while professors are actually working and not getting paid, and student are depressed and going into debt. This is a sad miserable place. THE METCAFE BUIDLUNG (main building), the Library AND CONOLLOY (on-campus dorm) BUILDING HAVES RATS. Not mice, RATS. Disgusting. PICTURES COMING SOON!

This university is great. My capstone professor was the best class of 2006

The accommodation service for tourists provided by BINAP is cheap, basic and at an excellent location for all young travelers.

Well actually Im in Transit Tech High School, im in the 9th grade, my school haves a program wich is an early college program, it take that program here at LIU, im taking college classes to get college credits, im taking algebra class, my algebra teacher is nice, she helps me on everything and stuff like that, the next class I will take in January 2019 will be computer science. I love this place, so clean, well orginazed. Its a really good place here. I recomended to every high school or college students.

Don't send your children, the budget of the school is zero in winter and the natural gas is very little and no janitor.

Save yourself the headache and go to a different university. They charge you a ridiculous amount of money and you get poor/no services. It is a HEADACHE dealing with admissions and enrollment because they are disorganized and do not submit your papers, lose them, etc

They also do not provide you with accurate information or a list of things you do so you don't have problems and miss deadlines down the road.

You pretty much have to fend for yourself and figure things out when you go along which is NOT professional or the way things should be for the amount of money you pay.

There are not enough computers/printers for all of us. The bathrooms and elevators have issues on a regular basis. The school is not well maintained. LIVING HERE SUCKS (clogged showers, dirtiness, etc)

However I do like some of my professors.

My advice, only come here if you have no other options, like I did. This school is not worth the amount of money you pay.

School is k. Professors aren't exceptional. I haven't begun to have a first rate math professor at this school.

What does that tell you?

This university has an extremely low freshman retention rate as well.
This is the only college I've been to, so I can't compare it to any other, but I'm certain
that their are better ones out there. The overall vibe is quite depressing, and most of the work
is so easy that it borders on being boring. If you are looking for a "get in, get out" kinda thing,
this school could work for you. If you're looking for some kind of "college experience" or to learn, or to socialize... look elsewhere. I don't know if I'm going to transfer or not, but being that I
want to get out of this school, it actually helps me to work better. The first semester is pretty basic middle school/high school level stuff (in my opinion). If you do decide to go here, I'm positive that
you will have no problem at all getting accepted. I'd advise you to join a club, because as I said before, the overall vibe is depressing. Beware of the people who work in the financial aid office! They seem to not want to be there even more that the students! Some of the counselors also seem have no idea what they're talking about. If you're bored, you can play a fun game called "Who's got the best answer?" Go to three different counselors and ask the same basic question that you're curious about. You will get very different answers. You will also most likely get screwed over financially in some way, and finally, If you like to play connect the dots and memory games, first year seminar will be most exciting to you. Not much will be expected of you, so don't push yourself. Because if you do, they will be very surprised indeed! I prefer to call this a nursing/pharmacy school, myself. Cause that's where all the money goes! The art department is pretty okay, though. Soooo, yeah. Do your research. Unlike I did.
PS. This school isn't terrible, it's tolerable. I'm just in a bad mood today.

Way too over priced. most of the staff are unfriendly. The guidance counselors barely know what they are talking about. only good thing would be that clubs get funds in the 4 digits

Nice campus. A little off the beaten path and a somewhat longer subway ride.

Overpriced,overzealous rent a cops who will chase you down for bringing a. Water bottle inside the library and unprofessional faculty. If you feel like getting scammed then go ahead to this school

Now I m suicidal only after 1 semester no guidance and owe School 14 k in loans can t even continue until I pay off this debt and guess what I learnt nothing teachers didn t care also didn t teach students nothing but throw R papers at us

I could give this school 0 stars if I could. Went to visit the campus, and absolutely hated it. I felt like I was in a prison. The school tour was completely unorganized, and had to have a student instead give us a person tour. The freshman 5th floor dorm hall smelled like straight weed. Terrible school.

Don't waste your money here. They are so careless about admission procedure. I'd wasted my 50 $ application fees and submitted all my documents. Its about 2 months they are not responding to single e-mail and i went to the campus about 10 times they kept repeating that wait few more days for admission decision. Its about 2 months they are not even responding to an e-mail nor they are giving rejection !! Wasted my precious time :@

Good place for learning English! I recommend this university for studying everyone who coming to Brooklyn at first!

I didn t have any problems while attending this school. The staff and professors are very helpful. They are always willing to help you, to ensure your success. However, this school can be very expensive, but then again, what private college is not expensive in NYC. Its proximity to the Barclay s center, Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge, Fulton street shopping center, local restaurants and bars. Will give you what you are looking for when visiting NYC. Finally, The piers under the Brooklyn Bridge will give you the best views of the NYC skyline, I guarantee it.

horrible policies when it comes to financial aid, no matter how poor you are, theyll do what they can to make sure they get some money out of you

Very poor communication skills. I sent docs to be evaluated, you can't get valid information from someone that is supposed to be the Associate director of the program. Am done!!! not wasting my time applying here. You get better response from other schools. You can't get a yes you have all the credits or oh you need these 2 classes.

They treat like your a bag of money worst descion I ever made to come to Liu if want to see rats,cockroaches and etc in your dorms or in campus in general this college is good for you and plus you pay a whole amount of money which is wasting your time and education. The administration is terrible especially when you go to enrollment or the financial aid center they are trying to take away as much possible money from you. The only reason why I came to Liu is because of its pharamcy program But The campus itself is making me change my descion of how horrible it is my advice to people is don't come to Liu period

Horrible admissions process for graduate studies, the people who answer he phones in admissions only made it worse. After sending multiple emails prior to my phone calls, it wasn't until my conversation today that I had to send in MORE documents and wait even longer than the six weeks I already had. I heavily regret wasting $50 for an application fee only for them to send me an email for a fee waiver code the day after. Go elsewhere. Not worth the stress.

I like it there, people are very chatty so if you want to make a few friends jump in the convo. I like the campus, its always well kept. Security is always around so you don't have to worry. I love the juice bar, non branded coffee house as well as the Starbucks in the Metcalf building. Not only food on campus is good but there is also things to choose from off campus like Mc'Donalds, Seven Eleven which thrives off of the students looking to eat more for less, applebees, juniors, and fosters which has great soul food. Professors are usually very helpful ONLY if you ask for help, if you dont they will assume you are a whiz and leave you be. There is always parties and gatherings going on to help you step back from school work cramming and enjoy the throws of socializing. YES it is horridly expensive but once you go there you start to understand why and that's because they offer a lot more than the average bear (AKA CUNY/SUNY schools). There is the learning community which helps you network by having you rotate through elective classes (math, English, biology ect) with the same small group of five to six friends so that no matter what class you go to you know someone. No other college care to do that. In my opinion they offer great classes and the best thing is that you can always chat up a few people a class or two ahead of you to see who is the best prof and when is the best time to grab on to your chem book and run like hell! I rather pay a little more to get a little more. I love this school and all the things they offer including the new Apple Ipad 3 they give out to new and transfer students.

Don t go here please avoid this school. They will not give you enough aid to continue to go here doesn t matter if you re independent or dependent. Financial aid is very unorganized it takes forever to fix issues with your account. Most of the professors suck such a waste of money, our money is not going anywhere. Most of the professors are horrible and disrespectful. The school is literally falling apart, elevators and bathrooms are absolutely horrible. Don t get me started on Financial aid they are horrible and no help. The students I know have at least 8k debt they have to pay back to the school alone. If you do have 8k or even 2k left to pay you can t register for classes. 91% acceptance rate but 30% graduation rate what does that tell you??

RIDICULOUSLY overpriced for what you're getting. The professors and TA's have all been superb for the most part in my experience, and although I'm leaving with a 3.9xGPA I harbor resentment.
Resentment for upping your tuition and making it so those of us that work and cannot do more than 12 credits per semester must pay an erroneous extra 4000$ just to attend. That means MINIMUM tuition for full time is now over 33/year.

Complete utter robbery considering the equipment and buildings alike are in shambles; loosely held by duck tape you seemingly can't afford.

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Beware of bedbugs. Visitors and residents of LIU, beware of recurrent bed bug infestation. Never again. Horrible. Bad school, don't waste your time. Low retention rates, and overly priced.

THE WORST UNIVERSITY .. DMV EQUIVALENT OF AN EDUCATION
I completed the Pharmacy program at this school and I'll tell you right now that this is the worst pharmacy school in NY. Go to St.Johns ,Touro, but do not consider this a choice if you decide on pharmacy. Why?
1. The administration that handles everything within in pharmacy is terrible in trying to help any student. They are hostile towards any question that you may have and in general are not pleasant to deal with. When you do have to deal with them its like pulling teeth they will never try to help you and if a problem comes up its automatically your fault. I've known students that had to repeat classes because they deleted there courses from there transcript! Imagine you passing a class and then having to repeat it because they made a mistake and won't admit to it.
2. The faculty are just there to do a job and move on. The teachers with the exception of a few are there to teach off a syllabus in subjects they are not familiar with and move on and collect there paycheck. They are not teachers there union workers. THEY COULD CARE LESS. Some teachers are very knowledgeable but I think they're exhausted from dealing with nonsense administration and angry students that they just don't care anymore.
3. The school itself is just BAD. The HS107 pharmacy room where students will spend most of there time had BED BUGS last year! The library is a joke its either freezing or a sauna which makes for a great study environment.
4. The school will nickle and dime you to the very end. The graduating class now has to pay money to take Kaplan courses because the school wants to raise its status in NAPLEX scores. Majority of students pass the NAPLEX BUT the school wants to have higher scores so they can attract more students. This is all well and good except its the average student with already $150K in loans that has to pay for this program out of there own pocket. ST. JOHNS gives the review course for the NAPLEX for FREE!
This school will rob you, and leave you with a joke of an education. Don't believe me? Most good NYC hospitals won't take students from LIU for Clinical Pharmacy residence because they consider LIU pharmacy education sub par.
And as a personal message to Harold L. Kirschenbaum. How can you teach students if you've never worked a day in your life in a pharmacy?

This "school" is a joke. They set you up for failure. I regret every second I spend here. Every day I'm surprised with more s*** from this school. Save your money and get a better education from a community college. I didn't listen to the reviews on here and I should have. DO NOT GO TO THE SCHOOL. They just want your money and give you nothing in return. I've been here a 2 months and it's been the worst 2 months of my entire life. I am mentally scarred from this school

Who woulda thought!? A humble, cozy college campus, right in the heart of downtown Brooklyn.

Dorms are terrible. Bed bugs are rampant, the price is ludicrous (1500$ a month) and they have small rooms. Do yourself a favor and live off campus.

Overpriced, filthy facilities, miserable overworked and hostile faculty, no advisement, horribly and punitively run programs. Run in the other direction to any CUNY, SUNY, or any other private university and make sure to find out exactly what's expected to graduate, like time required in a placement site over a semester in the course bulletin or handbook, because this school won't tell you until it's too late to pull out without leaving a big gap on your resume. DO NOT COME HERE.

Just like most school. Nothing special. They treat you like a bag of money
