A very nice Marriott hotel. We stayed here for a couple of nights. The hotel was lovely as they always are. Our room was a good size and we had a balcony looking out towards the racetrack. It is very peaceful there with very little noise.

The spa is nice. We had some massages and used the pool, sauna and steam room.

The staff were all excellent and we had an enjoyable stay.

Wonderful spot and easy to get to, though it feels a world away from busy London. The staff are what really sets this place apart, so kind and hardworking. Their sincere service really made our stay, despite the difficulties they face staffing amidst the Covid challenge. Thank you!!

I asked something for 3 times but they gave me something else.

I asked them to clear my dinner plates but no one came.

Tv was not working and remote was so dirty.

Sink in the bathroom was blocked.

The toilet presure was stuck.

I asked for 1 king size bedroom they gave me 2 beds in one room which was not asked for.

But swimming area was good.

Very good hotel. There is ample free parking, a bar and restaurant. Breakfast is a buffet selection of Danish, full English, cheeses, cured meats, yogurt, dried fruits and nuts, fresh fruits and more. You have the option to have a custom omelette made for you with a variety of toppings.

The room was large and very clean, with blackout curtains, mini fridge, iron and board. Mattress was and comfortable.

Overall a very lovely stay.

A great hotel and location if off course you love the races. On a race day, superb. Rooms overlook the race course, restaurant is very very good. Could do with a bigger bar and more seating. It's not cheap, but a superb hotel.

DO NOT GO HERE. They changed our spa times so one person would be waiting 2 hours for their treatment. There was no email or phone call telling us; so on the day we were thrown. Would not be given a refund. The manager spoke to us like trash. The young girls working there laughed and smirked at us getting scammed. Very immature and school playground vibes. A very political, middle class culture that treat you like dirt. I struggle with anxiety and depression and a spa day was what I needed and looked forward to. In the end I came out with a panic attack and feeling awful.

If you have the option of staying at the Courtyard Gatwick, or this, then choose Lingfield. A 20 minute max driving from Gatwick Airport. Underneath approach of aircraft going to Gatwick, nevertheless short walk to little town. Nice to be able to go outside...

I stayed here for weekend with child, room was booked as tween but had one double bed. The room cleaning service not doing well... tired after whole day around, when came back to room I had to clean the room on my own.. iron was still standing out by my bed or hair dryer was as I left in rush.. also instead of having body wash it's been 2 shampoons on tray.. really?? Can't they read the lables!?
Little things but matters.
In general the hotel was great, I enjoyed staying in good designed room. Bathroom not big but practicly designed and nice.
Customer service friendly and professional.
I liked food tho menu could be bit wider in options.. not much for vegetarians.
In general, lovely place to stay, I would definitely recommend.

Elegant, modern, spacious in a very quiet area and with the main addition that is having a racetrack in the backyard. Sitting down to have a drink and watch the races is priceless. Very nice pool and sauna.

Firework display and setup was magnificent. Amazing fun For kids and adults. Only three stars given as at the e d of the night the parking situation was horrendous took us 45 minutes to get back on the road as no control over how folks left the parking.

A solid hotel that does not let you down. Located at the racecourse (one of the most scenic in Britain) it is comfortable, great for breakfasts and coffees. Plenty of parking, shared with the adjacent golf course. Staff always polite. I can't fault it.

To be fair the stay was very good and we had am amazing view of the racecourse. One of the provided towels had some sort of brown clay material matted into it, one of the wall sockets had a plastic in it blocking use and one of the Marriot brochures had crucial pages ripped out. I would blame this on previous occupants but it would be nice if it was picked up in a spot check. I'd still use the hotel in a heartbeat.

Have stayed at many Marriotts and this has to be the worst. Not sure how this place has 4 stars or sits in the "Marriott" category; feels like it should be a "Courtyard Marriott" instead.

Reception staff barely helpful, spa was grimey/needs refurb, room service was so bad it was funny (the wrong/incomplete items were brought on 3 attempts, with items still missing at the end, after over an hour waiting).

Only positive is if you have a room with a view over the racecourse, I can imagine it's quite nice if/when a race is on (probably the only real attraction here)... not somewhere I can imagine anyone staying except by necessity.

Even when issues were flagged, reception staff showed no concern / were unapologetic. On checkout, decided to give formal feedback and the receptionist said "Right" and brought over the front office manager to deal with us. No apology from reception. Basic staff training is clearly missing - needless to say not all 4* Marriotts are built the same...

[Also beware the taxi company they use, who showed up 35 minutes late and almost caused us to miss our friend's wedding]

Staff was fantastic. Room was great and they made sure I had a full view of the race track. Races were great fun. Excellent breakfasts. I played an early morning 18 holes of golf in just over 3 hrs. Course was in excellent condition. There are excellent pubs in the area, and other attractions like Hever Castle, and the location is easy to get to Gatwick. The price is a bargain. I love the rural UK Marriott resorts. Would stay here again in a minute.

Only stayed one night but....

Ordered Afternoon Tea came with wrong sandwiches and cakes were frozen! Drinks didn't turn up until we nearly finished lunch even asked twice and they forgot our children drinks. Not even busy so no excuse.

Went for a swim and the woman at the desk clearly didn't want to be there we and the family in front had to wait for her to finish filling the entire towel shelving until she would give us towels - seriously, even then she almost threw them on the counter.

We stayed here about 7 years ago and you can tell its gone down hill the room was dusty the furniture in the bar tardy and old. Even the decor had seen better days - cables hanging from under the bar and scratched wooden fixtures shows its not been refurbished in some time.

Then enquiring at Golf no one around other than some bar staff laughing about with a group of drunks at 11am.

I like the place but it needs new more efficient staff and a bit of a makeover.

Talking to another guest visiting from Holland with his wife and Son and he also shared a similar view - disappointing.

Had our office Xmas do in the Pavilion Suite which is a marquee put up every year. The inside was decently put together. However, food was very average and there was a power cut halfway through the evening. Disco was fun though. Overall, an okay night but nothing special.

Clean, comfortable, well kept and stylish rooms, with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto a horseracing track. Good service and friendly staff. Minus one star because, though it wasn't bad, I've had better cuisine.

Wonderful day attending the races, we opted for the afternoon tea package. Good spread of sandwiches and cakes with half a bottle of champagne each. Good views of the race course from all locations

overall I found the hotel to be impressive in the way it looked as well as the service I received from the staff.

We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the food thoroughly, the "famous" buttermilk chicken burger in particular.

The spa is absolute waste of time and money. The changing rooms were out of order so we had to change from our rooms and use the spa facilities and services. The jacuzzi has a random timer system which switches off after about 20mins or so and does not get back into service for about 25mins or so. The steam room did not have no steam in the room. One of the users had to complain and there was too much steam after that. So we had to complain again and they control the steam outlet. For the hammam treatment, private steam room was out of order so we were told to use the common steam room.

The Cyprium Bar & Grill was another disappointment. The tables were stinking. The staff were rude and arrogant. Whenever you go, there was a wait time of 25-30mins. The breakfast buffet was not at all well-managed.

Overall, the trip was a complete disappointment. We has an impression that as it is Marriott hotels, the service would be exemplary but it turned out to be the worst experience from a global renowned brand.
