Free zoo in Lincoln Park. Clean park. Not too crow...
Free zoo in Lincoln Park. Clean park. Not too crowded on a summer Friday. Wide range of animals. Able to see them. Knowledgeable workers.

Zoo lights were fun! Animals were all sleeping... Just like they should be at night :)
It is a nice zoo at Chicago. It is not at yhe loop but easy to get there via bus. It is free too.
Great zoo that is free for all. I donated money. It is well kept. They have so many animals to see for a small zoo.
The zoo is free admision, every educational. You can also visit the botanical garden adjacent to the zoo.
Who doesn't love the zoo! Steps were taken as you can only go with a reservation and some exhibits are closed but it is still a wonderful place to visit whenever you can.
My Peta side was calling out to me all the animals were depressed and looked undersea due to the lack of living space were put under. Imagine stuffing a human in a ups box and forcing them to live there for the rest of their lives with the occasional potato chips to eat.
I mean, I understand the lack of funds due to the fact that it is free but this is just animal cruelty
It was a wonderful experience, the park is clean, and beautiful! Definitely will visit again
Fantastic zoo and it's free! So even better. Great day out
You will spend 2 to 3 hours there
Good place to visit animals and to view some shows with the volunteers
It was very nice, even though a lot of the animals were inside.
Great place to take the kids. Lots to see, lots to learn and lots of fun activities for the kids.
Not as nice as Brookfield but good visit if you're on a budget.
Nice free Zoo lights! Just don't like that it's hard to find parking, so we ended up parking by the belden hotel: belden centre lot
Loved the zoo. They have a lot of animal exhibits and its completely free. Great place to take the kids without spending much. Even parking can be free in the street but if you can't find any they do have some parking placed where you can park for a fee without time limit.
Amazing value! This zoo is amazing and free. I have never seen some of the animals they have on exhibition here. There is so much to see.
Actually we have only been to 'the night light show' in the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's free to the public so you just have to have a proper attire depending to the weather since it's an outdoor show and minimum 60 min to walk through the Zoo.
Most of the lights are shaped like animals. And there musical light show. It was beautiful. An evening stroll in the park in this winter holiday season is a must.
Nice free zoo with many exotic animals around situated in the heart of Lincoln park.
Too cool of an experience. Even with all the graffiti it gave it the IL touch. Alon of profanity in some they should remove and some trash. Wish people would take care of the few things we have before they are taken away. I appreciate that this place is open to the public to explore. It was a great experience.Awesome place.
Super fun and safe place for kids , great activities and Evans for the whole family..
I love going here during the Winter! I love love love their lights on the tree! it is beautiful! And the fun glasses they give you that let you see figures in the lights! Soo fun! I love all the animals and i love that is free yet still well kept and fun to go to! i cant get enough of the lions!!
Really nice. Main attractions: polar bear, penguins and seals
Great free zoo in great location to other activities.
Love this zoo. Perfect size wonderful people and staff. Decent priced food. Great prices for a free zoo.we absolutely loved it!!!!!
Never dissapoining. What can be bad about a free zoo? I can't wait gor the new pavilion to finally open. Bring your entire family as often as you can.
Amazing, exotic and beautiful animals from all over the world, great way to spend the day.
The good part is that it is free, but it is not very big either...we took the small train tickets and we thought it will take us at least in the entire zoo...but it was just for 2 mins circulars right there...
It's great if you don't want to walk a lot , unfortunately some animals are missing due remodeling .
Such a great time! We spent several hours here and it seemed like we had just gotten there. Really enjoyed our time there. Very family oriented!
Beautiful scenery in a great part of the city. Plus it's free! They are always hosting events like beer festivals, wine tastings, and other more kid friendly things so it keeps it fresh.
Very nice FREE zoo... We didn't finish it but that gives us an excuse to come back!!!!
Very nice place, it's free and you can bring your own food
A loot of animals and you can interact with some of them
Nice clean zoo. Didn't get to spend a lot of time there so didn't see the whole thing, but the parts I saw were well maintained
Fun, free, and lots of decor and activities for holidays. But the animals are often hiding and seem a bit sad.
Nice for family. Nice for a day date. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves. Felt like kids again
Amazing experience. We spent a whole afternoon There and the kids really enjoyed it! Ne part is its free :)
Awesome zoo completely free to the public. Is it the largest zoo? No, but it is impressively large regardless.
This is such a nice zoo and it's free. Lots of space for the kids to run around and many opportunities to get up close to the animals.
Everything was nice when we went no real issues except the weather.
Ironically this FREE zoo is better than most Zoos you pay for! All the animals and awesome indoor and outdoor exhibits
Great zoo. Totally free to visit. Zoo lights are fantastic.
Nice zoo, be prepared to pay to park unless you take public transportation or walk
It's free and has a good assortment of animals. A must do in Chicago on a budget.
Beautiful. We went to see the lights in the rain. Clean and great show
Horrible place. Way too crowded during zoo lights and don't park in the lot. You may think it's convenient but trying to exit is not. Go Brookfield instead.
Great zoo for little kids and easy to get around. Staff are friendly and helpful too.
Love this zoo, such a beautiful location and Free, so rare in Chicago!
It s ok to go for a nice family outing and a mini picnic but the animals were hardly out the second time I go and hardly any animals . And the animals that were out it was only 1 per section . Honestly i don t know why they have that zoo the animals look lonely and bored like take them back to there actual home.
My favorite place to go is Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo.
First of all it s free! A lot of things to see! A lion, yes they have it! Also funny monkeys, great apps, flamingos, reptiles, and much more!
This was the first time ever being at Lincoln park Zoo... I loved it ...
Small enclosures for the animals so that was kind of disappointing/sad, but entry is free and it's in Lincoln park (near the lake) which is really cool. This was worth checking out.
Awesome place to spend the day. There are so many animals, all well cared for.
It was a good zoo, but in the end, it doesn't even matter.
Very clean zoo. Many animals were inside due to the extreme heat.
Wolf pups howl at passing ambulances, 10/10 cutest thing I've ever seen
Free zoo, with some winter availability. Park at South lot, it's cheaper.
Free entry, great animals and staff are fantastic. Some great enclosures and the gorillas are mesmorising!
A wonderful free attraction in Chicago. Filled with so many beautiful animals and very clean. The staff is very helpful and there is typical zoo/theme park food availt as well. One of my favorite events at the zoo is zoo lights in the winter time where they light up the entire zoo and lots of holiday spirit
Very nice place to go for a walk! It is free entrance and is very interesting, especially for young ladies and gentlemen!
For a zoo that is free, there is great value here, the gorilla habitat is a must see!
Zoolights and other special events are always fun, but strolling through even on just a normal day is also always fun (and it's free)!
Well we are understanding that with Covid the indoor exhibits will be closed. What we didn't realize was there weren't going to be any animals at all. I have posted 16 pictures with is 1 of every single animal they had available to see. Including the ducks and seagulls.
The big cats were not there because they are still under construction. ALL of the bears were gone.
It wasn't what we expected. Even for a free zoo. We paid quite a bit for parking
They could have said online that 3/4 of the animals were being kept inside with no way to see them.
Had we known we would have went to Brookfield.
We like Lincoln Park because it's the last free one and I love being able to donate which I do when I buy the tickets.
I just wish they would have warned us.
My daughters were ready to leave after 15 minutes of empty animal houses. Thankfully we chose a day that wasn't humid or we would have left without out seeing everything.
Luckily they had the flamingos which was what my girls wanted most after the rest was empty. That's why we saved it for last or they would have wanted to leave after seeing them.
I don t know where to start. So, I will empty myself and feelings about this place. Lincoln Park Zoo has it ALL! Items below are just to name a few:
1) Experienced and absolutely awesome/friendly personnel!
2) A mix of big lessons from ANIMALS!
Give this place a visit!
It s a MUST!
Great Job Lincoln Park Zoo
Came here to see the Christmas displays and it was so crowded i couldnt even enjoy what little was here. Sat in traffic for 2 hours to get in and the displays were just ok. Thank god it was free because i would have been aggravated if i had to pay.
Zebras , camels , polar bears, oh my! Admission is free and snack kiosks are plentiful.
The polar bear swimming was most memorable. The giraffes peered at us through windows like WE were the caged animals.
It's tough walking around on a hot day though! Some animals weren't available to be seen when we visited. Many drinking fountains were not in use either, unfortunately!
Free zoo, many different exotic animals. There are things for all ages here
