Free but costs to park. Still not bad for what you get. They have all the zoo animals you care to see. Wasn't very crowded. Grandkids loved it...and so did we. Will definitely return. Love the area it's located at also.

My family and I loved visiting this zoo in Chicago! A great variety of animals from birds to primates, they even had rhinos! The best thing is it's free. Parking is an issue though so go early and avoid weekends.

Seriously? A free zoo?! Sign me up! The gorilla sanctuary was the most interesting place. I can't think of another free zoo anywhere I've been. Awesome experience, even with a few of the exhibits being closed due to weather.

What a fantastic zoo and totally free! You do have to pay for parking, but you can take public transportation or use a parking app and walk a bit. If you have at least a few in your party, even paying for parking is cheaper than any other zoo I know of this caliber in a major city.

A combination of a park and a zoo - good choice for a hot weekend. In winter it has its own charm with Comed light shows. The toughest thing is to find a parking spot, so maybe the best idea is to come here by bus

Awesome!! We had a great time! I was so surprised to see how many animal were out and very active even in the cold weather! There are zoo employees all around too! So, any question I had, I didn't have to look far for an answer. I would be super happy and impressed even if it wasn't free!

I came to this zoo in August 2016 & was extremely disgusted in the living conditions of the Lions, Tigers, & other cats. They were kept in the smallest cages and seemed so distressed.
Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Parking is a little expensive but if you carpool it can be super worth the free admission.

I loved the history of the buildings and their repurposing. You could spend all your time just urban exploring enjoying the archeology and architecture aspect.

A great place to visit. The fact it's free makes it yet even better.
For a free zoo they have a great diversity in animals, though some of the enclosure could be a bit bigger.
The zoo is also close to the lake/beach, to round off the day ;)

Lincoln Park Zoo is great, especially for being free. The have a great number of exhibits, and provide a very pleasant walking experience. Ape/primate area is great, you can walk right up to the glass. LPZ is always worth a trip if you have the time or you're in the area.

Parking is expensive, however (it's chicago), and street parking is a nightmare (again, its chicago).

Great place to spend the day with kids or even on a date. Plenty of exhibits and animals for all to see. You can even bring food and some drinks into the facility for picnics. Purchasing food here is a little pricey, but understandable.

Rene needs to stop lying. She's probably never even been to the Lincoln Park Zoo. They don't even HAVE a cheetah and never have, so she couldn't possibly be talking about the right place.

The animals at Lincoln Park are all healthy and happy. And despite the lack of cheetahs, it's a great little zoo.

Admission is free. I do recommend taking public transportation since parking is iffy in the summertime when there are tons of tourists and kids are off from school.

Since COVID, MUST HAVE RESERVATION TO ENTER-reservation options are one hour timeframes, available for selection on zoo website, however if you're late, staff will still allow entry so long as you've made a reservation. Face masks must be worn at all times during visit, social distancing is very much implemented, directional arrows are on ground, & some parts of zoo are blocked off. Weren't able to see lions&tigers because building under construction, no face painting stands however face drawing stands, snow cones, & popcorn, along with restaurants within the zoo are available & open.

I generally disagree with the concept of zoo's but this one is well laid out and gives reasonable room for the animals. It's neat and clean with a wide variety of animals. However neat it is, it's still essentially a prison especially for the big cats. Nonetheless it is an interesting walk when making your way back from the conservatory to the city center and entrance is free.

Free for all visitors. Maybe 25-50% of the animals arent there due to weather and other reasons, but definitely worth walking around for about 3 hrs. Food is pricey, so bring a snack.

Great zoo must see during the summer, or spring. All the animals receive great care, and zoo is so diverse with animals. There's also a butterfly, and petting zoo nearby. As well as a green house.
