Lincoln park zoo is one of the best places to vist in chicago.
Lincoln park zoo is one of the best places to vist in chicago.
Didn't see too much just strolled around outdoors. Saw the zebras queue up for lunch. Free admission until January 5, so may visit again to see the lights at night
I have always loved walking around the zoo. I am glad there is still no cost to enter! I have brought students there on field trips. Zoo Lights is amazing (in December). Giraffes are my favorites! The gift shop is reasonably priced; I often shop and save items for birthdays! Everyone should visit, support, and love Lincoln Park Zoo!!!
In the winter its supper relaxing and peaceful even though there arent a lot of animals, you can still enjoy the atmosphere while listening to some music. The monkeys, apes and lions are my favorite part
I was born and raised in the Lincoln Park area in 1958. So Lincoln Park Zoo means and represents alot to the fabric of my life. Always has and will always be one of the "best" and "free" attractions in the united states and unique only to Chicago. Plus I've some a couple of very unique experiences that are relayed to the zoo so i will always hsve a special place in my heart for our zoo!
ZOO LIGHTS is a MUST!!!
Its free and cute and definitely can put you in the Holiday mood, despite the temperature outside. HAHA
Lots of lights and shows that just make you go ahhhhhhhwhwhwhwhwhwwwww.
They also have hot chocolate, spiced wine, and apple cider.
Obviously you can pay for parking there OR you can park on Cannon for free and walk there to really save on cash.
I've enjoyed visiting the zoo every time a visit chicago. It's a good sized zoo but not too big you can see everything
Free. Lions. That rad bird house. Naked mole rats. The only complaint I could ever have is that street parking is sparce, but the lot is close!
One of my favorite places to go in Chicago...especially with my grandkids
Expensive parking and difficult to park on the street. The day that I visited there were many empty exhibitions and not all were properly maintained.
Free zoo. Easy to get to and wide range of animals to see.
With the park being in the middle of city, it really made for a unique scenic experience. The grounds were immaculate as were the animals that were on display. Park employees were very helpful with knowledgeable. One of the best free zoos I have ever been too.
Are we all blind or is just me .........this animal are depresse....
Free zoo, wonderful for all. Beautiful gardens and exhibits.
Zoolights were fantastic. My family had a great time. But bring your own water. All of the drinking fountain are off in winter, and it's impossible to find free water. It may be free to get in, but everything else had a cost. Water isn't worth that cost, but everything else at the zoo is.
Yay for free zoos! I love going to zoos and seeing animals. went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was tons of fun. Most of the animals were out and about (other than the seals but it's cool) Definately a great place to go with a family.
Love the zoo! We get the parking pass (donate the right amount of money that comes with the perk of a free parking pass) so we can park for free. Today we spent a while at the Lilly Pool enjoying the peace of nature in the middle of the city then went to the zoo to check out the polar bear and other animals.
Better than most paid zoos! Animals were all out and active. Very cool!
Good for kids and its clean but it close to early even in summertime.
What's better than a craft beer fest at the zoo? Nothing.
Fantastic zoo, plenty of ground to cover, much to see, all superbly kept inside and out. Great for kids, families, everyone. Love it.
It gets 2 stars because I feel horrible giving 1 to anyone. That said, I went to the Zoo to see the Polar Bears. I thought it was a bonus to get to see a Seal and Otters. There are no animals in the exhibits. No signs stating that the exhibit is closed or animals are inside due to weather. Nothing on the site letting you know not to waste the trip on a very hot afternoon when you could do something else. In general I was underinpressed with the facilities. I felt bad for the skinny wolf and the rhino in the smallest enclosure.
There are lots to do in Chicago. Go somewhere else.
Awesome and free zoo. Plenty of animals to see and interactive exhibits.
Great place to take the family out for some quality time (especially for children)! Enjoy!
The lights were amazing and my daughter had so much fun.
Sometimes seeing certain animals is difficult because of construction or closure of exhibits. Holiday lights are nice, but it rarely changes from year to year. Nice for a stroll.
Really nice small zoo in a comfy park layout. I was disappointed that there were NO big cats and the seal tank seemed to hold only water (no seals).
5 stars for the lights 1 star to the weather, it was COLD the day I was there.
Visited for a company function.
LPZ has changed quite a bit since my last visit years ago. I enjoyed it.
Christmas lights were amazing! This zoo is by far an amazing free experience!
Cool facility and best of all FREE! The catch is you need to pay for parking.
Amazing, love the fact that you can just walk right in without bothering with any check points or ticket. We were walking along in Lincoln Park and next thing we knew were in the middle of the zoo. It is a nice walk in the park filled with things to look at. All the exhibits are well maintained and there is a lot to see.
You can spend hours here looking at all the animals. So much variety. And all free!! Doesn't get better than that.
Lovely lake front zoo. Wow what a treat, in Chicago and on the lake front! Free admission, you have to pay for parking so that's to be expected (street parking if you can find it). Bring your walking shoes! We saw most of the animals and the fall setting was beautiful. Reserve ahead because the spots fill up quickly. Ample parking as well. Overall a great outing and great family fun for all.
Had so much fun! Enjoyed all the park had to offer! Restrooms could've been cleaner ave better stocked but all in all a good free time!
We loved visiting the zoo! The workers were friendly and eager to talk about the animals. It helped that it was free
Great zoo for free. Some animals in small spaces, especially post bears, but hopeful they are aware of the animals health and wellbeing. Lots of info on how you can help animals.
I love zoos but this one really doenst catch my attention. Most of the animals are gone, or there inside and don't want to come out.
Not the biggest zoo, and enclosures feel a bit small. Everything is very clean and well kept. Free entry, with free street parking (if you're lucky) or cheap parking if you don't mind a small walk. Over all a good experience. Kids loved it.
Free and friendly? Yes please. Good place to walk around and see animals. Seems like a lot of people go, but it doesn't feel that crowded at the individual animal cages.
They are definitely not in Olympian shape. I mean the lions have sagging skin and hanging fat deposits, but this doesn't mean you won't enjoy the sights of penguins, exotic birds, and the occasional rhino.
The facilities are in tip-top shape. Bathrooms clean. Children well-kept. Ice cream and drink stands around. I haven't encountered a free facility in such good conditions.
Family friendly place. Perfect for an afternoon. Open 365. I go as frequently as I can.
Make a day to explore and it's free. Go early for free parking
LPZ is heaven on earth. Absolutely love taking my little girl there any time of year.
Couldn't see any animals. Small size. Hardly any shade, very hot. Overpriced parking and food.
I love that you can be strolling throught the park and then just happen upon wild animals in the middle of the city! I've only been here a few times and always see different animals. The small mamal/reptile house is a strange combo - sandcats are my favorite.
Went to the zoo lights on New Years Eve; not very many animals could be seen
All the animals are extinct...u paying $25 dollar park fee just for a nature walk
Beautiful place to take the kids and just enjoy walking prices on vending stands can be a little more fair though .
Beautiful Zoo with caring volunteers and donating every time I go there isn't enough to appreciate the experience that you receive from seeing all the exhibits.
I really liked this zoo fort many reasons. One, it is free. Two, it is very well shaded so it is not too hot. Three, a decent selection of animals that you can get pretty close to. A perfect activity that you can do in under two hours. Additionally, it is in a great location just off the lake shore in Chicago.
Nice place....would visit again...not to many animals were visible
Free zoo with a lot of affordable events. Great all year long with the wintertime Zoo Lights.
Really enjoyed. Nice zoo in animals own environment.
Always a nice place to drop by on a sunny day, both summer and winter (it s free!). Indoor exhibits include a large bird house, the reptiles and small mammals house, and several others. Just outside the zoo and on the same area you can find the nature boardwalk with a restaurant, the Conservatory, and a little Farm exhibit for kids. Parking is free on Stockton Dr but spots can be hard to find.
Under renovations when visiting at the time
No felines! D:
But a fun time none the less.
Water fountains don't work though, highly suggest bringing water bottles so you don't spend more than you need to see animals.
Best times to go is late morning early afternoon, noon can be too hot for some animals and can lead to sleepy ones.
Don't bring your pets to the zoo (unless an authentic service dog) because this is a place to see exotic animals not a risk for your pooch or other wildlife.
This place requires online tickets and mask are mandatory .
Welcome to DEMOS word
Stroll through the zoo, if you get tired of it after an hour or two, it's OKAY because it was free. Spend some money on a ride, a pretzel, a toy, etc, because that's what keeps this magical place going. The zookeepers love their animals here and more importantly conservation science in the backrooms of almost every building are making critical strides for a lot of endangered species or habitats that are struggling. Everyone here is passionate about wildlife and aware of the complexities of captive animals, but the space itself is a quiet oasis amidst a busy city.
Great zoo. It s clean, a nice variety of animals, friendly staff. And it free! Great little gem on the Chicago lakefront
Welll it s a nice zoo for free well that s if you can find parking otherwise you ll spend 20 bucks on a nearby parking. I would recommend Brookfield zoo it s cooler and you can even touch the animals like snakes and monkeys.
Loved this zoo! It was beautiful, clean and lots of weird animals. Kiddos loved it. It started raining but we found a play spot to keep nice and dry!
Great free zoo around Chicago but the killer part is the parking.
Amazing experience and IT IS FREE! If you want to experience nature and have a good walk this place is for you. If you re from the city and have never seen farm animals, check out the barns!
We were here for Christmas! The lights were beautiful! Not very many animals out but that was to be expected! I would go back again!
Great in the summer. Fun activities throughout the year good offerings for families.
Visited for the zoo Christmas lights festival. It was cold outside, but the displays were impressive! The figures shaped by lights were realistic. Worth the trip!
I liked it the lights timed with the Christmas music was very cool. It really got me into the Christmas spirit! Loved it!
LOVED IT!! Nice layout, clean, great variety of animals, nice neighborhood and FREE!!...if you don't drive there. Gotta pay to park.
Had a GREAT time with the grandkids. So much to see!
Lots of animald, good to take the kids, nice to have a different day
Last of the free zoos. We spent a very enjoyable day here, this place is a bigger than I thought it would be with plenty of places to sit down. Lots of staff around if you have any questions or need any help. Fantastic work that the staff do here, they are credit to the zoo.
